When light-green cracks began to appear on Manu's right hand.
Manu grabbed the hand of the man who had pinned him down so hard that his fingers pierced the attacker's outer skin.
"I will never let you hurt Srini. I'll clear everyone from the path before I die," Manu told himself.
Before the man could react, Manu tore open the outer skin on the man's hand. The attacker instantly withdrew his hand from Manu's face and screamed in pain
"What happened?" another man asked.
Ravi who had been ready to run back to town to fetch Srini after hearing the scream swung his flashlight toward the scream. The man who had pinned Manu was clutching his hand, blood dripping from it; he looked as if he was in agony but tried to stifle the scream by biting his lip.
And behind the person a small green light was glowing in the dark
When Ravi moved his torch toward the light, he saw Manu standing there with blood on his fingers. Faint green cracks appeared across his eyes, giving off a dim glow. The cracks on his hand ran across half of his right arm from his finger tip, and his right pupil glowed a bright green.
Seeing Manu's face and the glowing hand, Ravi remembered what had happened before in that state. He fell to the ground and dropped his flashlight.
"No, not again. I was lucky before — I got away. If I stay here now, I'll end up like Tarun," Ravi thought.
Without thinking, Ravi turned and ran — but it was dark, and after three steps he stumbled over a big rock and fell because for dark ness he was unable to find way to get out but due to the torch which he had dropped he was able to see Manu .
The other man — furious at his partner's injury — stared at Manu, whose one eye glowed green. Rage filled him. He sprinted at full speed and kicked Manu hard in the right side of the stomach.
This time Manu didn't fall. He slid and took a step to his left instead.
The attacker switched on his flashlight and shone it in Manu's face. Manu didn't block it this time; he closed his left eye and stared directly into the torch with his right, glowing eye.
And then Manu started to come towards him .
"What is he doing? Has he gone mad?" the man wondered.
Suddenly Manu raised his right hand and caught the hand as it came toward his face. From his right eye everything in the dark appeared green, while his left eye remained normal.
"This is what it feels like to be in this state — my body is both rejecting and accepting it," Manu thought.
He turned his face toward the right. It was the same man Manu had wounded earlier. Manu tightened his grip on to his hand .
The attacker tried to pull his hand free, but Manu's hold was iron-strong. As unbearable pain shot through his arm, the attacker lashed out and kicked Manu in the stomach — but Manu had already blocked that kick with his other hand.
" I need to get away from this grip. I have to play dirty," the attacker bit his lips and taught,
He pulled one f his leg back and, with full force, aimed a strike at Manu's private part.
