Sara took some deep breaths as she settled into the driver's seat of the car. "How could Dad blame me for everything? He expected me to embrace his second wife and her kids. I tried. I trusted Frida, my stepsister. But what did I get in return? Only betrayal."
She was lost in her thoughts when a loud tap occurred on the window. Sara tilted her head and saw Diego standing outside.
She turned on the engine, ready to leave, but he opened the door and quickly switched it off.
"Give me the keys back!" Sara demanded. "I won't save you, Diego. You should clean up your own mess."
"Sis, don't be like this. My life will end. Have you never felt sorry for me? Everything I have done since childhood is to compete against you. I always wanted to be praised. If a mother was absent from your life, for me it was a father."
"Don't start your emotional manipulation on me. If you truly want my help, then give me the keys back," she said sternly, extending her hand.
