Chapter 13 - For A Friend

"Fus Ro Dah. The words mean Force, Balance and Push. Used together, they can unleash a concussive shockwave that pushes away everything and everyone in your path."

"...Huh?" Rhaenys let out a confused growl and I looked over at Visenya to see the confusion dancing in her eyes as well.

"What do you mean 'huh'?"

"I mean 'huh' as in 'what'? What are these words supposed to mean?"

"Well, if you know how to put meaning behind them, you might be able to use the Shouts, or Thu'm as I like to call them."

"But...why? We have our flames," Visenya responded and I sighed as I saw Rhaenys nodding as well.

"What good did your flames do in the siege?" I asked in turn, not surprised to see her frown as Rhaenys grimaced.

"You don't have to master it like I can. I just want you to learn it and know how to use some of them."

"And how long would it take us to learn this?" Visenya asked me and I hummed as I drifted in the air.

"Truthfully, it would either take you a few days, a few months or a few years. It all depends on how long you study for it."

"...I think I'm okay with not doing this," Rhaenys spoke and I rolled my eyes, drifting lower with the two of them following after.

"The same here. We can simply learn to breathe fire while you use your weird word stuff," Visenya spoke with a scoff and I hummed as the three of us floated above the army marching through the desert.

"Hey, that's all up to you."

"Great. So, how much longer until we get to this Pentos?" Rhaenys asked and I looked down, watching as Mother and Aegon rode in front of the army with Barristan, Missandei, Grey Worm and Daario right beside her.

In the distance behind us was Meereen, left to defend themselves after Mother armed them and left a hundred Unsullied behind to train the fifty thousand slaves that stayed behind.

The other eighty thousand was intermixed with the army, with half of them made up of mostly farmers and workers while the others were future soldiers that wanted to pay mother back for granting them freedom.

'I'm fairly sure that New Ghis and Qarth will most definitely attack again, but at the same time, I think she wants to figure out what she wants to do before she commits to anything.'

"Could we not use the boats like before?" Rhaenys asked and I shook my head at that.

"Going by sea to Pentos means passing Tolos and the other countries that thrived from the former cities of Slaver's Bay.

Along with that, we'd have to pass by Volantis, Lys, Tyrosh and Myr, all of which would have no issue capturing and selling us if it means forging a good bond with the other Free Cities."

"That means...we have to burn them down if they attack, right?"

"No, Rhaenys. Attacking needlessly would lead to them hating us, and Mother by extension, weakening her chances to get an army to take Westeros back," I responded, making Rhaenys grumble before I caught sight of Mother lifting a hand.

With ease, I floated down, flapping my wings softly as I hovered above the woman.

"Drogon, may I ask that you survey the area we're about to approach? Also, any threats are to be dealt with?"

"ARE WE ALLOWED TO EAT THEM?"

"You and...Rhaenys are, yes. Visenya, would you mind staying with me until your siblings return?"

"Yes, mother," Even though she couldn't talk like me, Visenya still growled as she dropped down, landing softly beside Mother before walking alongside her.

Up above, Rhaenys roared as the two of us went high, the she-dragon more excited at the fact that she gets to kill while I narrowed my eyes at the numerous dunes in the distance.

Two or three would have been of no concern, but when there's almost two dozen sand dunes just clumped up close to each other, that's a sign of caution.

"Laas Yah Nir," Aura Whisper rippled across the ground and I watched as dozens of red life signatures appeared in my eyes. Folding my wings in, Rhaenys looked surprised as I tilted and dove at an angle towards the first dune.

As I expected, a group of Dothraki lifted the planks they were using as cover and I took a deep breath as they charged at me with high pitched cries.

Instead of a shout, reddish-black flames erupted from my throat, washing over the Dothraki and turning their challenging screams into ones of agony.

While they burned, I watched as the others took off, but Rhaenys was already descending, breathing out a torrent of green-gold flames that burned everything in its path.

I didn't stop as I flew around her, landing in front of the retreating army before opening my mouth.

"GOL HAH! KNEEL!" Bend Will forced the horses to kneel down, their riders unable to move as I pushed their will back.

"Rhaenys, no!" I shouted, narrowing my eyes at the dragon as she let out a groan while landing.

"Why not~?"

"If we let Mother talk to them, we may be able to help her get information on how to get quicker to Pentos," I responded, shaking my head as Rhaenys huffed before I turned to the Dothraki.

"TURN AND MARCH."

"So, you are part of Khal Jhaqo's khalasar," Daenerys asked, frowning as the Dothraki screamers in front of her nodded while Drogon loomed over them.

"IS THAT NOT ONE OF DROGO'S BLOODRIDERS?" Drogon asked and Daenerys nodded before she saw the frowns of her bloodriders.

"Rakharo?"

"I'm thinking of Eroeh, khaleesi," Rakharo murmured and a sad look entered Daenerys' eyes as she remembered the girl while she was being assaulted only for the girl to be treated to a much worse fate after Drogo passed.

She had declared that she would make sure Jhaqo suffered for what he did and now, the opportunity presents itself to her.

"You will lead me to Jhaqo and you will kill yourselves afterwards. Is that understood?"

"LEAD US TO JHAQO AND KILL YOURSELVES ONCE YOU HELP US FIND HIM," Drogon growled, the riders saluting before they stood up and walked to their horses.

"Are we to get revenge for Eroeh, khaleesi?" Jhogo asked, the normally stoic Aggo looking just as anxious before her bloodriders grinned as she smiled.

"We are. Grey Worm, Daario, Ser Barristan, I wish for you to prepare the armies. Drogon, you and your sisters are to stay out of this until we truly need your help. It is time we get revenge for our friend."

"Yes, khaleesi," Her three commanders saluted with bows, Daenerys dismissing them and her bloodriders as Missandei and Drogon remained.

"Are you sure you can win without the help of Drogon, Visenya and Rhaenys?" Missandei asked and Daenerys looked at her before turning her gaze to her son.

"While people fear my dragon, they do not respect me. Therefore, I need to show them that I can face off against an army without having any need for my dragons."

"I WILL BE NEAR," Drogon spoke and Daenerys smiled, walking closer and rubbing the snout of her son.

"Thank you, son. However, I want you to go get your sisters and make sure they don't eat our prisoners."

Daenerys sat atop her horse with Missandei beside her, the two of them watching as Grey Worm led a battalion of Unsullied down the hill in front of them.

Off to the west and the east, two more battalions were being led by Ser Barristan and Daario, Rhaenys and Visenya following closely behind each respective one with orders to not interfere until absolutely necessary

"Do you believe we will win, khaleesi?" Missandei asked as they watched the battle, Drogon looking just as intrigued as Daenerys frowned before she smiled.

"We will suffer losses, yes, but they will win. I know it."

On the battlefield itself, Daario narrowed his eyes as he adjusted his swords, watching as the Dothraki scouts noticed them immediately.

On the other side, Barristan stood firmly as he continued marching while keeping track of the other battalions, the darkness of night helping

"Remember your training, men!" Daario shouted, taking a step behind the Unsullied as they gathered together and formed a shield wall.

The hooves of the Dorthraki horses made the ground tremble as they charged at Grey Worm's battalion, who were moving as one as the shield wall met the first riders.

Spears stabbed through horses and into the flesh of their riders, blood coating their shields as both horse and Dothraki fell down.

"Next!" Grey Worm barked out as he moved back with his shield wall, the next one taking their place as they thrust their spears at the second wave of riders.

Some Dothraki leapt from their horses, but were swiftly cut down by the Unsullied's short swords, falling with gaping wounds in their necks as the battalion continued moving.

"Archers!" Daenerys ordered and three hundred freemen walked up to stand beside her, all wielding a bow with a quiver at their side.

"Notch! Aim!" The archers notched their arrows and raised their arms, Daenerys looking over at the Dothraki before dropping her hand.

"Loose!" The arrows whistled as they flew through the air, Daenerys' shout being a signal to the Unsullied as they raised their shields above their head.

The Dothraki were not given the same liberty as the arrows rained down upon their khalasar, screams filling the air as the arrows reaped the lives of many who could not block them.

Despite the screams, Daenerys' gaze stayed sharp as she watched her Unsullied continue to push it, some of the Dothraki being baited by Daario and his taunts.

That left them open to Barristan and his battalion on the other side, who cut through the Dothraki like a knife carving a cake.

However, for everyone one they killed, two more seemed to take their place and she turned her gaze to the rather large village that the Dothraki were staying close to.

'They're waiting for something,' She thought with a frown, raising a hand as the archers notched their arrows in response.

"Aim your arcs lower!" She ordered, the freedmen following her command before letting loose as she dropped her hand. A roar from Drogon was the signal as the arrows whistled and both Rhaenys and Visenya let out roars in response.

The next moment, the arrows flew over the heads of the three batallions and pierced into the flesh of anyone foolish enough to stay in the open.

Daenerys however was not surprised when she saw the Dothraki use the corpses of their comrades and their horses to hide from the arrows.

"CHARGE!" A familiar voice exclaimed from the village and she smiled as the full army finally charged through.

Thousands of riders stormed through the main gates, turning and running wide to the sides of Grey Worm's army as the man who lead it looked up at her.

Jhaqo had not changed much from the last time she saw him other than growing fatter, his blue markings and obscenely gold teeth shining in the moonlight as he shouted.

"That's her! The bitch of Drogo! Let us take care of her and the rest of her army will fall!" Jhaqo shouted and she narrowed her eyes when she saw Mago, the one who had taken Eroeh, leading the other half of the army.

She didn't say anything as she simply turned her horse and walked away, Drogon finally sitting up tall and letting his massive shadow wash over the army charging at them.

"RAAN MIR TAH!" The full power of Animal Allegiance illuminated the skies as it washed over the horses, who bucked and threw their riders from their backs.

"HORSES OF THE DOTHRAKI!" Drogon shouted, flaring out his right wing to stop an arrow from hitting Missandei, who yelped and quickly stepped back.

In response, Jhaqo and his riders looked wide-eyed as the horses stopped bucking and looked at him, the dragon giving them a fanged grin.

"KILL ALL BUT JHAQO AND MAGO!" As one, the horses neighed and Jhaqo bore witness to the sight of thousands of horses trampling thousands of his men like it was nothing.

Horrified screams filled the air as the mounts surged against their riders, hooves crushing skulls and ribs while teeth bit onto limbs and ripped them free.

"By the gods, that is brutal," Daario murmured, watching as the Dothraki's greatest strength now became their executioners.

"Rhaenys! Visenya!" Daenerys barked out and the two dragons responded, soaring overhead and unleashing torrents of flames onto the riders that tried to flee to the south.

"MOTHER, IT IS DONE," Drogon spoke after the horses finished trampling on their riders, Daenerys saying nothing as she stared at the glaring forms of Jhaqo and Mago.

Both were pinned by a dozen freedmen, their weapons having already been stripped from them along with any clothing that they possessed.

"You took Eroeh from me."

"Bah! The bitch should have been lucky that we desired her that much!" Jhaqo spoke with a scoff, spitting onto the ground at Daenerys' feet.

She didn't say anything as she simply looked down at Jhaqo, who sneered back before he noticed two large wooden contraptions being carried by more slaves.

The ones that held them captives forced them to their feet, locking their hands and head in place before locking their feet to the contraption that forced them to bent over.

"Drogon, do it."

"GOL HAH DOV," The eyes of Jhaqo and Mago grew dull as Bend Will took control, slouching in their shackles as Daenerys spoke.

"How many girls have you taken without their consent?"

"832/ 412," Jhaqo and Mago answered respectively, to which Daenerys clenched her fists before she nodded.

"For every girl that you took, you shall be given a cut and it shall only be with the final cut that you will be allowed to die," She spoke before she moved away, Missandei following close after.

Drogon just growled as he flapped his wings, slowly taking off while the freedmen stepped closer with their knives out. As the screams began, Drogon looked down and Daenerys met his gaze before both mother and son smiled at each other.

'Eroeh, may you rest in peace, my friend. Know that you have been avenged.'

A/N: A bit of a filler chapter this one as we end it off here.

Yeah, I decide that a bit of darkness needed to be added this chapter, but there was a scene that involved horses with Jhaqo and Mago that also included the terms 'forceful breeding' that I had to cut out.

Unfortunately or fortunately, I'm still not sure.

For those that haven't figured it out, Jhaqo and Mago were about to get the treatment that Viserys said he would have Drogo and his men along with their horses do to Daenerys.

Yeah, my brain scares me sometimes.

Anyway, we have avenged a fallen friend and next chapter, we shall continue on to Pentos.

Like always, you can go to my Pat-reon-.-com-/-KingCrimsonNova to read ahead on this as well as many other stories & even some that haven't been released out to this site yet.
