Chapter 233: Scattered
Ryan took out some more food, and Lillie ate it in small bites. With each bite, her pale face gradually regained color.
Ryan took out the holographic communicator, fiddled with it for a bit, and found that it couldn't connect to a signal at all.
Lillie finished the last bit of water and said, "No need to check anymore. I've used the holographic communicator before; there's no way to contact them. And in this desert, the Pokémon can't use their moves, or rather, their primal power can't manifest here."
"Can't use moves? What's going on?" Ryan said, then contacted the system to have it analyze the reason.
"Ding. This is a fragment of a broken space, a spatial fragment within the original space. This space will slowly dissipate until it completely disappears. This spatial fragment will dissipate in about ten years."
Ryan fell silent. He seemed to have grasped something, yet also seemed to have grasped nothing at all. Ryan said to Lillie, "Then, let's take these Pheromosa away first. I'll go talk to them."
Lillie shook her head and said, "They won't leave. I've already spoken to them with Pheromosa. But they don't want to leave this Ultra Space."
"No, they will come with us. This space is slowly disappearing. If they don't move away, they might just have to wait to die here. Then they won't be able to leave even if they want to," Ryan said.
At the same time, he checked Solgaleo's Master Ball. The system showed that Solgaleo was still asleep and would need about three more days to wake up.
In the meantime, he should thoroughly investigate this Ultra Desert, Ryan thought.
Relying on the power of their bond, Ryan found Pheromosa. It seemed to have become the leader of this Pheromosa colony. Ryan beckoned to it, and Pheromosa came over, lowered its head, and nuzzled Ryan. It was also very worried about him.

The two climbed onto Charizard's back, and Charizard flew into the sky.
Rewinding to a month earlier, Ryan had fallen unconscious while protecting everyone from the psychic blast. Lillie, seeing the unconscious Ryan, said, "These Pokémon are after us now. Everyone, spread out and pair up to enter the Ultra Wormholes."
With that, Lillie lunged at Ryan. Little Lugia, doing its best, caught Lillie and then plunged headlong into a white Ultra Wormhole.
Seeing this, the others also paired up and flew towards their respective Ultra Wormholes. Ruby, entering the last Ultra Wormhole, shouted, "Everyone, don't die! As long as Ryan isn't dead, he'll definitely come back to save us. No matter how tough it is, we must survive!"
With that, he and Sapphire rushed into a blue Ultra Wormhole, and everyone else followed suit. It wasn't that they didn't want to go together, but Ryan had planned from the beginning for a split operation, each entering a different Ultra Wormhole, so that regrouping would be faster.
Ash and Serena had just entered a red Ultra Wormhole when they were suddenly plummeting from the sky. Serena screamed in terror.
"Please, Moltres, Articuno!" Ash immediately sent out his two legendary birds.
Moltres and Articuno caught Ash and Serena, allowing Ash to examine the space more closely. This space was rather peculiar; it consisted only of sky, with darkness below, its destination unknown. However, within this sky-only area, there were numerous towering cliffs, where many Flying-type Pokémon had made their homes.
"Anyway, let's see how things go first," Ash said to Serena.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Sapphire plunged into the water. They immediately sent out Swampert and Blastoise, the two Pokémon dragging them out of the water. However, not far above the surface lay utter darkness.
"Swampert, Water Gun!" Ruby commanded Swampert to fire Water Gun into the dark sky.
The Water Gun struck the pitch-black space and then vanished without a trace. Ruby sighed, "It seems we can't go up there. We'll have to stay in the water."
"It's okay, there are plenty of fish in the water, we won't starve," Sapphire said.
"Sigh. I wonder how Ryan is doing. I hope he finds us soon. Otherwise, we'll have to live here forever," Ruby said, scratching his head.
"Don't jinx it," Sapphire rolled her eyes at Ruby.
On the other side, Gold and Kris appeared on a plain. Gold pouted and said, "Nothing special, just ordinary."
"Alright, stop complaining. At least it's not the kind of destroyed world Ryan described. It looks quite peaceful here," Kris said.
The scene shifts to Silver and Yellow, who are being tragically chased by a group of Magcargo. Silver, patting his burning backside, runs desperately through the tunnel, roaring, "Where am I?!"
"Instead of yelling, you should think of a way to deal with them!" Yellow said calmly.
"What's the plan?" Silver asked.
"Like this." Yellow grabbed Silver and quickly pulled him past, saying, "Go in peace. As long as you play the bait, I'll avenge you."
"...You traitor!" Silver roared.
As for the others, most scattered into various Ultra Spaces. However, most weren't in great danger, except for Gladion and Sophocles, who faced a large group of Guzzlord. Although they wore gas masks, cold sweat still involuntarily streamed down their faces.
