Chapter 282: Finally Captured
"This is insanely strong!" Silver couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Zygarde lying on the ground, its life hanging in the balance, and Charizard soaring in the air! Zygarde lay on the ground looking at the Charizard in the sky. It knew that Charizard was no longer something it could defeat. However, as a Legendary Pokémon, its dignity did not allow it to admit defeat!
Zygarde stood up, which made Ryan admire Zygarde's persistence. With a wave of his hands, Charizard also waved its claws, launching several fire slashes at Zygarde. Zygarde's two green crystals glowed, and it unleashed Thousand Arrows. The green light struck Charizard, who felt a strange force binding it, grounding it.
Seeing Charizard grounded, Zygarde flew into the sky, gathering Dragon Pulse energy in both hands. It slammed the attack into Charizard, driving it to the ground.
Zygarde opened the crack in its chest and gathered energy, which gradually coalesced—this was Zygarde's last gamble! It then fired a beam of light at the ground, the beam moving in a Z-shaped trajectory centered on Charizard, creating a green energy field wherever it went, before exploding with Thousand Waves.
The explosion sent Charizard flying. Grounded, Charizard withstood the attack. This attack was devastating for the Fire/Flying-type Charizard, bringing its health to a critical level. But Zygarde was in dire straits too. The next strike would decide the outcome!
Seeing that its attack had failed to defeat Charizard, Zygarde knew the battle was lost; it was powerless to withstand the next wave of attacks.
Charizard spread its wings and flapped them downwards with incredible speed, making it impossible for Zygarde to even see it. But the next second, a sharp pain shot through the back of its head, Zygarde's vision went black, and it finally couldn't hold on any longer, collapsing helplessly to the ground, unable to battle.
"Phew, finally over!"
Ryan stretched with relief, and Charizard immediately de-evolved, returning to its original state. Double Evolution mode is an extremely stamina- and energy-consuming form for both humans and Pokémon. If it weren't for his regenerative abilities, Ryan doubted he could have finished the match.
