Cealum went to the room and got shocked, he screamed like he saw a ghost. Maris opened her eyes without any reaction, just simply asked, what happened to you?
Cealum said, can't you see, there is a cockroach under the mat? Maris sat down and then looked at the place Cealum was pointing to. She said, I don't see any. Looking directly into Cealum's eye waiting for his reply. He then acted all innocent and tried to cover up with many excuses. It was there, I saw it with my own eyes. It may have run away for now. But it was there.
Maris just glared at him then said, ok you can go now.
Cealum with this response was not satisfied, so he tried to put logic in a more hilarious way.
Maris stopped him from talking, stop trying Cealum.
Cealum understood that Maris is not in a good mode. His efforts will be all in vain. He sat close to maris and stayed silent for the next few minutes. They both just looked at the outside view through the window. Cealum felt too much weight in that silence. So he broke it.
Maris! I know you are too tired, but you know that Waver and I are helpless without you, so you shouldn't lose hope over something so normal. Don't take too much pressure about Waver's school and stuff. I will manage everything, you just focus on getting better to spend your time with us rather than with those bitter medicines. So rest.
Maris looked at him with watery eyes and an assured smile. Cealum got off guard as he saw Maris's sudden change of reaction. He just tried to stop her by saying some gibberish jokes, like the normal Cealum would do.
Maris was happy to see him trying so hard to lighten up her mood. While listening to his bad humors, she just tried to fix her mood but the overwhelming joy made her cry out.
Cealum understood her emotional state and just gave her a hug.
Two days later,
It was the party day. Everybody Waver invited came with their family, which was like the whole class. Cealum was in a total shock, while Maris was too overwhelmed. She made sure no guardian would miss the chance to talk with her. It was good that Cealum's financial state is very good, that's why everyone was impressed. Cealum's half tension was eased by the reassurance that Waver has some friends, well, many actually.
The party was filled with laughter and story telling noise. Only 6 members were missing. The 5 chosen guests and the host Waver. They were planning how to catch that thing that leaves chocolate to him.
Someone said, Waver, won't our plan be flopped if we don't make any?
Waver said, don't worry, I have thought all things beforehand, now you guys just have to do what i say, ok?
Another child said, but won't our parents be tense because of us?
Waver replied, we don't have to worry about that, I will tell my father to call your parents.
Then they all looked at each other and nodded to agree. They all planned to start their plan when everybody was very busy downstairs, but before that Waver went to his father so that later on his new mates didn't have to be scolded.
He called out his father and said, daddy we have plans to execute today. So can you manage the rest? Like making everyone busy downstairs?
Cealum was excited and very activated after hearing this. He said, wait, am I in your plan? With bubbly eyes.
Yes dad. But keep in mind it's a secret.
Cealum then proceeded and asked, " then may I ask what is the great plan. Although i don't have to know as the greatest, smartest man is in your team, you will surely win", proudly indicating himself. Then Waver just sighs and says,, you only have to keep everyone busy downstairs. Although i never remember telling you this but dad, someone everyday comes to my room and secretly hides chocolate. Today we are gonna catch him red handed.
Cealum looked forced, confused and said, but why would you do that?
" because I want all the candies right now."
But didn't I tell you the story of a greedy farmer and a golden goose? Yeah, you did. But that was just a story and I am not stealing. Someone gives me, so I'll take all of that at once, I am not cutting a duck. See, that's why I didn't want to join my group.
Cealum then sighed and said, alright alright. But don't cry if something happens.
As he was walking downstairs, Waver gathered his new mates and went to the room. Then they all hid under the bed. They all were eagerly waiting for someone to come, but there was no sign of anyone coming. Only the noise of adult gossips down the hall. At some point they all got bored, Waver still tried to encourage them with the fact, they will be getting all the candies right after catching that person. He even created a delusion, just imagine, a person who carries two suitcases with him filled with chocolate , his dress smells really sweet, maybe he lives on the candy planet, maybe he came all the way here to supply too much candy. Maybe they have a lot of candies like we have garbage and they throw them here. Maybe if we can catch him, we can find his address and attack and loot the candies. What if their houses are made of cakes, what if they don't have icy mountains but ice cream mountains. Just imagine all the sky is filled with cotton candy, the lakes are flowing juice, the trees have all sorts of fruits.
After giving his revolutionary speech everyone got motivated, they were more energetic than before. And right when someone entered, all their heartbeat stopped, they all looked closely to observe his works, but only the feets were showing. That person was weird, he just walked around the room a few times and went away. Waver then said that it might be his father looking for him. Although he told him about the plan but didn't reveal the exact things. After that no one entered the room anymore. And one by one everyone was falling asleep. Waver got frustrated, " we are here to catch the culprit and you guys really just dozed off?" Then he promised even if everybody fell asleep he was not going to be one of them. Sure enough….
Cealum and the kid's parents tip-toed and opened the door. They watched silently towards their naive kids, although they didn't know why all of them laid under the bed without Cealum. Then one by one everybody left with their kids, now it was time for Cealum to pick Waver and put him to his bed,, when he picked him, Waver murmured, " gotta catch…..him, …all ,,,the candy…mine.."
Cealum giggled and even though Waver was fully out of sense he whispered in his ear, " daddy will catch him and get you all the candy. Sleep tight."
He put him back to his bed, then went towards his closet and opened it. Then he left the room.
The following day, the morning started with Waver's happy screaming.
