"Take me to see her."
Moen spoke, his interest in this so-called "Rain Girl" growing stronger by the second.
"…Alright. Come with me."
The village chief hesitated for a moment, but eventually agreed. To be honest, although his sense of morality had always restrained him from allowing the villagers to target that child, deep down he still hoped that Moen could take her away.
Ever since that child's parents met with an accident a few years ago, the rain in the village had never stopped. It was no wonder everyone had reached their limit.
Led by the village chief, Moen soon arrived in front of a small house. Many villagers followed behind, wanting to see how things would turn out.
All of them were full of anticipation, hoping that Moen would take away the "Rain Girl" and solve the village's greatest problem.
Knock, knock, knock.
The village chief knocked on the door. After a while, a small figure opened it, only leaving a narrow crack.
"Juvia, it's me, the village chief."
The village chief spoke, and the crack in the door widened slightly. Clearly, the girl named Juvia still trusted him to some extent.
The door opened. A girl stood there timidly, with curly blue hair, a frail build, and skin so pale it looked almost water-soaked. She gave off an extremely pitiful impression.
"V-Village Chief…"
Juvia spoke softly, fear evident on her face—especially when she saw the group of villagers behind him. Their faces were filled with undisguised disgust.
Splash—crash!
The light drizzle instantly turned into heavy rain, and the villagers outside were soaked through in an instant.
"Damn it! Is she doing this on purpose?!"
"Make the rain stop! You bastard!"
"This is too much! She has to be driven out!"
"We've had enough!"
Being drenched all at once, the villagers completely snapped. They cursed loudly, no longer caring whether she was a child or not. In their eyes, Juvia was nothing but a "freak."
As a result, the more they cursed, the heavier the rain became.
"Shut up! Shut up! All of you, go back home right now! You all like getting drenched, do you?!"
The village chief turned around and angrily scolded them, driving away every last villager who wanted to keep watching.
They had no choice but to leave. The rain was so heavy it felt like knives cutting into their bodies, and one by one they fled in disgrace.
Interesting.
Watching the scene unfold, Moen wore an intrigued expression.
At this point, it was one hundred percent certain, the rain in this village was indeed being influenced by this child's magic. Yet her magic power clearly wasn't particularly strong.
Moen stared at Juvia, thinking through the books he had read, wondering whether this kind of phenomenon had ever been recorded. Her situation was obviously abnormal.
"Juvia, make the rain a little lighter."
After driving the villagers away, the village chief looked at Juvia and asked with a sigh.
"I-I didn't do it on purpose…"
Juvia looked miserable. She despised her own ability as well. She didn't want this to happen either, but she simply couldn't control it.
However, under the village chief's reassurance, Juvia's emotions gradually stabilized, and the rain outside slowly began to ease.
Juvia let the village chief and Moen into her home. Moen was fine, he released his magic power to block the rain but the village chief was truly at his limit. He had nearly been soaked senseless.
Once the door was closed, the sound of the rain became much quieter.
Moen looked around the room. Calling it bare would be an understatement. It was obvious that this child's living conditions were extremely harsh.
"Juvia, this is Moen, a mage from the Fairy Tail guild. Tell him about your situation in detail. Maybe he has a way to fix it and help you become normal."
The village chief introduced Moen.
Juvia looked at Moen. She had noticed him earlier. Among all the people staring at her with unconcealed disgust, there were only two exceptions, one was the village chief, who had always taken decent care of her, and the other was Moen standing beside him.
"Really… can it be fixed? They all say I'm a monster…"
Juvia spoke softly as she looked at Moen. Hope filled her eyes, as if she had grasped a lifeline, yet she didn't dare hold onto it too tightly, afraid it might snap.
"You're definitely not a monster."
Moen smiled and shook his head. Any talk of a "Rain Girl" monster was nothing more than rumor.
"You're an extremely rare magical prodigy. All of this is simply the result of not being able to control your talent yet. Once you learn to master this power, things won't be like this anymore."
Moen spoke seriously as he looked at Juvia, smiling as though this were not a particularly difficult matter.
In reality, Moen wasn't completely confident himself. Gifted mages who awakened magic were not uncommon in Fairy Tail, but someone who could influence the weather like Juvia was something he had truly never seen before.
Still, even if Moen himself wasn't sure how to solve this, that didn't mean Grandpa Makarov wouldn't know how.
When in doubt, ask Grandpa Makarov—the Third Guild Master of Fairy Tail. Another "Third" might be known as the "Professor of Ninjutsu," but Makarov was the true "Professor of Magic." There were very few things he didn't understand.
"A magical prodigy?"
Juvia froze. The village chief froze as well.
"So Juvia's magic… is making it rain?"
The village chief asked blankly.
To be honest, they hadn't never considered the possibility of "magic."
But Juvia didn't know how to do anything—she could only make it rain around her, and she couldn't control it at all.
That really didn't feel like magic, so it was hard for people not to classify her as a "Rain Girl" monster instead.
"Rain is just the outward manifestation of her magical talent. It proves her aptitude is extremely high. She still needs systematic guidance. But Juvia, do you really not know how to use your magic?"
Moen looked at Juvia with a puzzled expression.
Logically speaking, once magic awakens, one should instinctively know how to use it.
Unless…
Unless they instinctively rejected it from the start, like Mira did.
But Mira's case was special.
She had been possessed by a demon from the beginning, so rejection made sense.
But what about Juvia?
"Using it… like this? Does this count?"
Juvia frowned.
Her body began to change, turning directly into flowing water, her entire body transforming into liquid.
"T–This—?!"
The village chief jumped in fright.
A person turning into water?!
Was she still human?!
Mages really were monsters!
"Looks like Water Magic."
Moen nodded.
Magic that directly manipulates an elemental attribute can produce effects like this, something close to "elementalization."
Laxus's lightning magic could also allow him to transform into lightning, though that technique wasn't very useful against other mages.
When everyone uses magic power, even if you "elementalize," you can still be hit.
It's not like in another world where special methods are required to attack such beings.
Magic power is the fundamental force of life itself, how could it be such an inconvenient thing?
"M–Moen… Mr. Moen… can I really return to being normal?"
Looking at the young-faced Moen, Juvia was terrified.
She was afraid this was just a joke.
Afraid that everything was fake.
"Of course you can."
Moen smiled gently.
"Do you want to come with me? Join the Fairy Tail guild. There are many children like you there—many magic geniuses.
We'll teach you how to control your talent."
Moen extended an invitation to join the guild. A child like Juvia, if discovered by any other guild mage would absolutely never be let go.
Her talent alone was enough for most guilds to envision S-Class potential.
Since he had found such a promising seed first, Moen naturally wouldn't leave her behind. He was definitely bringing her back to the guild.
"I…"
Juvia fell silent, hesitating.
"Go, Juvia.
That's where you belong."
Seeing her hesitation, the village chief spoke slowly from the side, offering a final push.
In his eyes, being taken away by Fairy Tail was unquestionably a good thing for the villagers, and for Juvia herself.
