Pauline's POV
The clinic door exploded open with such violence that I jumped backward, my heart slamming against my ribs. The sound echoed through the sterile hallway like a gunshot.
Zion stood in the doorway, looking like he'd battled his way through hell itself. His dark hair was wild, his clothes rumpled, and his eyes burned with a rage so intense it made my wolf whimper in submission. When his gaze swept the corridor and landed on Logan, the temperature seemed to drop ten degrees.
"Where is she?" The words came out as a lethal growl that made my knees weak.
Even though Zion and I had grown close since he'd claimed Windsor, the raw Alpha dominance radiating from him now had me ducking my head instinctively. This wasn't the controlled leader I knew – this was a mate driven to the edge of madness.
Logan stood his ground, though I caught the slight tension in his shoulders. He'd been expecting this storm. "Zion, listen to me–"
