Emily woke the morning after their revelation to find Alexander already awake, dressed, and on his phone issuing commands with military precision.
"I want the estate prepared by tonight. Full security sweep. Medical equipment installed. Staff vetted and in place. No, I don't care about the cost. Just make it happen."
He ended the call and turned to find Emily watching him. "What are you doing?" she asked, though she already suspected the answer.
"Protecting you. Both of you." Alexander moved to the bed, sitting beside her and placing his hand over her stomach with that possessive certainty that had become even more pronounced. "The penthouse is too exposed. Too many access points, too much visibility. I have an estate—secure, isolated, designed for exactly this situation."
