The next morning;
Word about the attack had spread around the village, with many civilians tense thinking of an impending war but the clans were in motion, investigating any lead in the shinobi as to who or why the mysterious attacker harbored hatred for the leaf. During the council meeting in had been hypothesized that he might have been the one behind the nine-tails attack, at which point all pieces began to fall into place.
The Uchiha were busy rebuilding their compound and not something Fugaku could afford to abandon yet. Hiruzen had sent out orders to strengthen their border patrol outposts.
Danzo had been indefinitely sentenced to house arrest within the root headquarters, which saw most of its force being funneled into the anbu.
Given that this was the 2nd infiltration into the village in less than 10 years since the fourth hokage died, then the village security was severely inefficient. Days went by, and most of the village had heard what happened. Violent outbursts were handled by the Uchiha police force, and everything continued as normal. The wide chasm between the hokage faction and the Uchiha had closed slightly.
Hiruzen had punished Fugaku by tracking the culprit and, if possible, eliminating them within a year. Knowing that the wood style was in the hands of an enemy, it made Obito priority number one to be eliminated.In the Uchiha compound;"Father!" Sasuke beamed as soon as he saw his father. He was worried since his father hadn't returned last night."Sasuke." Fugaku smiled faintly. He turned to his wife and had a firm hug and kiss on the forehead as they went inside the house. Some sections were destroyed in the fight, but nothing too serious. Fugaku wanted to avoid the wrath of his wife.
Taking Sasuke and Itachi outback, "Itachi, Sasuke…the Uchiha clan is not indestructible. We are not the strongest, but we have strength; however, that meagre strength is not enough. We must reach heights beyond our ancestors, beyond Madara Uchiha.Sasuke make me proud in the academy, you must aim to better yourself even if those around you are mediocre. Itachi, leadership of the current and next generation is yours; this heavy responsibility is something you must bear. Learn to trust with skepticism those around and use them to strengthen the Uchiha clan.Itachi, I know you sympathize with the Hokage faction. The village will not fall if the Uchiha remain. We might never be hokage but the village, our birthright right will never fall!"Fugaku's words echoed in the backyard, later, they enjoyed a family dinner as things returned to normal.
Iwagakure;
Onoki sat reading he scroll before about the assault on the Uchiha, "What incompetent bastards. The least they could have done was wipe out the Uchiha. At least Danzo will be out of the picture for a while."Danzo, the shinobi of darkness, was feared worldwide, even by those who operated in the dark, his schemes overturning villages were frowned upon.With this disaster, Konoha will be focussing internally, leaving the other great villages to act more freely.'We need more talents.' Onoki lamented, iwagakure's lack of talent was a pressing issue. Deidara and Kurotsuchi were still green and even then, reaching S rank was highly difficult. Kitsuchi was the only notable one, along with Roshi and Han but they were jinchuriki.
Sunagakure;
Rasa sat in his office, likewise reading the report about Konoha, throwing it aside, he stood up, his gaze beyond he village and into the vast desert that hampered and protected his people's way of life.
For the last two years, he had desired to enlarge Sunakagure, military, economically, and population-wise wise but the desert wasn't suitable. Stretching their hands into the surrounding villages would warrant an attack from Konoha. After their recent loss in the war, they were not ready to face another war."Fools." He cast a disdain towards the report; had they been successful, Konoha would have been weakened, and confrontation less likely to happen. 'I just need to get rid of Hiruzen, then the rest will fall like dominoes, but we are outmatched.' His thoughts drifted and he was unable to come up with a solution, so he went back to continue his work.
The news of an attack on the Uchiha caused a sensation both small and large in the surrounding villages. Sandwiched between the great villages, they did not wish to become a battleground between the great villages.
Tanehiko household;
Making the ram hand seal a water veil blocked Kudo's front; the jutsu was a lesser version of the water wall jutsu a rank C jutsu. Water style: Water veil was a D-rank jutsu. Over the past year, Kudo had mastered 4 water style Jutsus; water bullet, water veil, mud bath, and moon blade.Having finished practising, he left for the park, he and the others had promised to meet.
Although he had reduced contact with his friend, he still hung out with Naruto, Shikamaru, Choki, and Kiba.
After a day of fun, he returned home, as he came to his house se saw from afar a man talking to his mother, and her immediately tearing up. He rushed over, side stepping the man, he embraced his mother, "Mom, what happened?" Kudo asked, giving the man a few glares."Kudo, it's your father. He has been assassinated while in the land of water." Ina spoke in between choking sobs as her words left Kudo feeling strength leave his body. He refused to believe it, "No. Father can't be dead, anyone but him, it's impossible."
"I'm sorry, son but it is true, his body is currently on route as we speak, within a week it should be here." The man spoke with a hint of melancholy.Kudo collapsed, dazed, staring out at the night sky, his heart pumping with so much force it threatened to break out of his body."My father is dead." He repeatedly muttered, looking over, he closed in on his mother, who was still crying.
