Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Into the Fissure

Eyrunik started to rush towards Tauren, Kael and Eros were still hiding in the bush, but what happened made Kael's expression surprised, except for Tauren, who started to laugh.

Tauren simply jumped and landed right behind Eyrunik. He turned around, and you could see that Eyrunik was surprised too.

"Mhm?" murmured Eyrunik, seeing the incredible jump that man just made. 'As far as I know, no human should be able to do anything like that… what the hell happened?' thought Eyrunik, as he simply remained still. Tauren did the same, he simply knuckled his fists.

"Eros, what the hell happened… I didn't think Tauren would be able to do something like that" whispered Kael.

"You're right, he was never able to do anything like that," answered Eros, smiling amused. Kael watched him, confused.

"Just watch..." said Eros, trying to see if any krukin was coming nearby. But what happened with Liztawul before made all of them scared, and now all of them were busy fighting with the others.

Eyrunik and Tauren were still standing in the middle of the battlefield, both watching each other. Suddenly, Eyrunik's purple rune went off, and the orange one lit up again.

Eyrunik literally ripped off some ground in front of him and threw it towards Tauren at incredible speed. Tauren was able to dodge it simply by running, but he ran really fast… too fast for a human.

Eyrunik was confused, but more than him, Kael was even more confused. It didn't make any sense. What was happening?

"Please stop," said Eyrunik, remaining still. Now he slammed once again his arm into the ground. Only one fissure appeared, it was exactly below Tauren, who did not fall?

'He didn't even flinch… let's try something' thought Eyrunik. He suddenly turned off his orange rune and activated the purple one. He started to rush towards Tauren.

Now Kael's eyes finally lit up, he understood what was happening. Before, once the fissure appeared, Tauren's legs seemed like they disappeared, but they returned immediately.

'Liro… that is a really strong tactic, great job' thought Kael, as he understood that the Tauren they were seeing wasn't the real one, but rather an illusion made by Liro.

Eyrunik had just reached Tauren, who stopped immediately, but Eyrunik noticed that he stopped too fast, and the ground didn't even move a bit. He knew that thanks to his different slams on the ground, the soil should have become weaker, and if someone that big passed around, the soil should have moved a bit at least.

'It seems like he is here, but at the same moment he is not here…' thought him, then something came to mind. The first time he met with Darian's group there was someone who created illusions. Eyrunik, remembering this, remained still.

'I should understand where this little one is hiding… he cannot be far.'

Eyrunik had just thought of a plan to spot Liro's position. He started to walk in the opposite direction of the illusion, which remained still.

"Are you already escaping?" said Tauren in a provocative tone. Eyrunik, seeing that he wasn't coming closer, stopped.

"Escaping? Nah, I just wanted to see if someone else would come, but I guess I have to kill you by myself, and fast" answered Eyrunik. He simply turned, and the purple rune lit up. He started to rush towards Tauren, who remained still.

Suddenly he turned right, and Tauren immediately jumped in front of him. Eyrunik stopped. It was like the illusion was only interested in that place, like he was defending something.

Eyrunik understood that behind him there was something really important. In fact, there were some rocks, and every time he went far from them, the illusion would not get closer. But now? The illusion was simply in front of it.

'Well, you were able to fight nicely… but in the end you will all die' thought him, as he started to rush towards the rock. Tauren remained still, he didn't even get his hands up to stop him, understanding that it was over.

Eyrunik slammed with all his strength against that rock, shattering it into a million pieces. But right behind it there wasn't anyone… there was one of the fissures he had created before!

Liro, in fact, was totally in a different position, not behind that rock, that would have been too reckless. Liro doesn't like to risk it all like that.

The fissure was extremely big. Liro could see from his illusion's eyes, and every time he jumped, it was simply to see when the fissure became bigger. In fact, with every step Eyrunik was taking, the fissure became even bigger. Liro was just waiting for the perfect moment to bait him.

Eyrunik could not have predicted it in any way. In fact, there were too many rocks there, and they were all too big for him to notice the hole. Eyrunik, at the last moment, was able to hold himself with a hand on top of the hole.

"NOW KAEL!!!" shouted Liro. Now Kael and Eros were able to spot him, he was right behind them. Kael was caught a bit off guard, but he rushed towards Eyrunik.

"I… have to rise—" said Eyrunik, trying to get up, but then he saw Kael right above him.

He smirked and multiplied the gravity for that creature, who could not resist under the pressure. The ground under Eyrunik's hand literally cracked because of the force.

Eyrunik then deactivated all the runes, leaving only the white one. Kael, understanding that the pressure wasn't enough, made it even stronger.

"ARGHH!!!" both screamed, Kael because of the pain his body was having—he had used tons of spells, his whole body bleeding, his vision blurry and his eyes now black. While for Eyrunik, it was because he could not hold anymore. He changed his rune from white to orange at the last moment, probably to hold tighter, but it was useless, he fell into the fissure.

The ground under Kael shook a bit, the fissure was too big for him to see if the krukin was actually dead, but thanks to the huge sound he heard, the krukin probably died.

He fell down exhausted. Eros helped him get up. "You did a great job, Kael," said him. Both their bodies were bleeding due to the use of the spells. They then reached the others fighting.

Liro went faster, in fact his whole body was still doing great. He reached the part where Mantblast was fighting.

Kael and Eros reached Liro, who was standing still. They saw his face and noticed an expression of terror, fear, and sadness.

They turned around too, and what they saw made their hearts break into pieces.

Before Liro reached Kael and Eros, Allen and Tauren had just reached the middle of the battlefield, where Mantblast was waiting.

"I see that you came… I don't even know if I should call you human" said a voice coming from many bladekruk, who slowly walked away and left a space. From there, Mantblast came out.

"What is it? You missed me?" said Allen, joking.

"Sort of" answered Mantblast, pointing his sword towards Allen. All the bladekruk came around Allen and Tauren. Mantblast watched him disgusted.

"Go out, Tauren, I'll take care of this," said Allen. Tauren was shocked.

"I'm not going anywhere!" shouted him. Allen knew he could not send him away, but tons of bladekruk rushed towards Tauren. It made him take a few steps back, and he went out of the arena.

'Tch, guess I have to do it by myself now…' thought Allen, seeing his friend going out. Compared to the last time, there were even more bladekruk. Tauren could not pass in any way.

Allen and Mantblast, just inches away from each other, both smiled, and the fight started.
