Leilani.
Today was inexplicably cold, which was strange given the season and as I made my way into the large towing glass building of Frostclaw. Inc, I wrapped my coat tightly around my small body and pressed my phone to my ear.
"You've refused to come back ever since…" Gavin's voice drifted through the phone's speaker, soft as always and gentle in that way that always made it sound like he was afraid to annoy me.
"You should come home. We need to talk about it… about everything. I am worried about you, and you may not believe me but mother is worried too."
I sighed, lowering my head as I walked through the cold white hallway leading to my office. And as I went, I couldn't help but notice the strange stares the other colleagues threw at me as I walked past, but deciding that it wasn't worth it, I paid no attention to them.
"I cannot." I said quietly, "I cannot bring myself to return knowing fully well that there's something at play there."
