Chapter 14 - chapter 14:

Sajid and Rajesh reached the village, and they both entered their respective homes. After reaching home, Sajid once again realized that the world he is living in is different from the world he lived in his time. Who knows how much time has passed since he was engulfed in that curse? The people, the culture, the environment, everything seems to have changed. Though he had barely gone outside the protection barrier of his city, he knew the surrounding geography was not that complicated.

Something has changed between the timeline he lived in and that curse. Otherwise, such drastic changes would not have been possible. All these changes made Sajid numb. He realized he did not belong to this era. He can not wait to find out why all of this happened after getting out of this forest. Sajid's training with Rajesh continued week after week. In those times, Sajid could clearly feel the physical improvement that the training had on his body. He now had abs, muscles full of strength, and full of vitality and vigor. Sajid now felt healthier and stronger than ever before.

Then one day, Rajesh told him that his physical training would come to an end the next day. His body is now ready for magical training. Sajid got excited as he would finally be able to train his magical powers and explore various aspects of his powers. But before that, Rajesh told him to pick a weapon that he feels comfortable with. Sajid went with Rajesh to his home, and there were various kinds of weapons scattered. Sajid picks and feels each weapon personally. Finally, Sajid decided a simple spear would be perfect for him as he felt most comfortable with the weapon. The spear was crudely made.

Rajesh told him to take the spear with him and told him to wait outside in the training ground. Sajid did as he was told. Rajesh was already waiting for him. Rajesh then told Sajid to take hold of his spear and be ready for combat. Both men got ready for combat and then got started. As soon as combat started, Rajesh faintly chanted magic, and he vanished from his spot. Sajid was taken aback. He thought he was mainly going to first teach him weapon arts and then magic arts.

But Rajesh started with magic and combat arts altogether. This bewildered Sajid. Just then, he felt a presence behind him, and Rajesh was already there. Rajesh was in a position to strike his head, but just in time, Sajid managed to deflect it with his spear. Rajesh then disappeared again, this time coming from a corner and again aimed for his vitals and head. Sajid somehow managed to deflect it, but the third time, Rajesh's sword was inches away from his head, and a faint trail of blood seeped out from his neck.

Sajid realised that Rajesh had shown him mercy, and if this was a serious battle, he would be dead in minutes. Then Rajesh asked Sajid what he learned from this battle. Sajid replied that the battle is about quick decision-making and anticipating his opponent's moves. Rajesh then proceeds to tell him that the chant he used is the language of the Jinns. Their language has magical powers imbued in it. All a person has to do to get this power is say it in the Jinns' language, and the power will be granted, but there will be a time limit of 2 minutes. But repeated use of the same power will lose its potency.

For example, a person who has just used the magical language of the Jinns to gain speed and a person who has already used it four times, their speed will be different. Though the speed will be beyond a human's capability, still the speed will still be less than that of a person who has used it repeatedly. To always get the maximum speed, the person has to speak with the Jinn while he is contracted, and what kind of sacrifice he would need to maintain the same level of power.

Then Rajesh proceeds to tell him that most Jinn's magical power users only use their Jinn powers in times of absolute need because to use the power of the Jinn puts a heavy burden on their bodies. Rajesh told him that the Jinn gave him the power of super strength, unleashing power beyond human limits, but it puts a heavy burden. He then proceeds to tell him that every Jinn power has several stages. They evolve with the user experiences and needs. But first, to use the Jinns' power, one has to build a magical core in their body.

Rajesh said that when one first gets the Jinns' power, the power centers around his heart, and the power constantly tries to move all over his body. But due to insufficient physical condition, power gets struck around the heart. As the person develops their body, the power flows throughout their body. Then when a person gets familiarized with their power enough, then the power forms a core in their heart. That is the source of all Jinn users' magic.

That is called Marḥalah or steps. There are multiple Marḥalahs in the jinns' power. The more they explore, the better they understand, and at the same time, the magic evolves with them. But it also brings constant physical and mental burden along with it. So most people do not tend to get too deep with this magic, and most people can't handle the burden.

Rajesh then proceeds to give an example. He told Sajid that the chef's power in the village might look useless initially. But if the person had ventured out and experienced danger and combat and his need for better magical powers, his power might have developed very differently. Rajesh told Sajid that no more than one gets from Jinn is useless. The Jinns are mysterious beings that grant people's wishes, but they grant wishes in their own twisted way.

He then proceeds to tell them there were other ways one can get their magical power from, like using human sacrifices for black magic, having a grimmore choose you, or an ancient legacy or text. Different sources of magic have different uses, but they always extract a price for every benefit people get from them.
