Chapter 40 - Chapter 39. A Torrent of Thoughts

The fall was surprisingly long. It felt as if hours were passing. He saw the jubilation on her face, felt life return to her, her body continuing to embrace him tighter and stronger in spasms of ecstasy. And he, too, managed to feel a truly dizzying orgasm—this time literally dizzying, not figuratively.

He kept his eyes on her because he had to capture her image before the end. He absorbed and memorized every inch of her face, her eyes burning with happiness.

He deeply regretted that he hadn't been able to believe in life after death. Though, with the miracles they had lived through, he could now believe in anything. But no, he expected not a meeting with the Creator, but darkness and emptiness. He had no regrets—he had lived a magnificent life.

But how terrifying it was to see her fall, knowing she would soon be gone. She, so alive and real, would cease to exist. He bid her farewell mentally, because there was no time for words—his thoughts raced, outpacing time, and words couldn't keep up.

She was happy, she loved him, she was grateful to him—that was what mattered. Therefore, this flight was not madness at all, but part of their strange life. This thought calmed him.

She flew downward, embracing him tightly at first. And then, convinced that he held her and wouldn't leave her, she let go of her hands and reveled in the flight. The spasms of orgasm mingled with the delight of the fall—it was a truly intoxicating cocktail.

She felt her body, still trembling from his caresses, soaring in the air, as if she had become a part of the wind, and his embrace was the only thing holding her in reality.

He felt the wind ripping at their clothes, the city lights rushing past, but his thoughts were only of her—of her fragile body in his arms, of her eyes full of life, of her love, which was stronger than death. His heart beat in the rhythm of the fall, each beat like a scream, a plea, a promise to be with her, no matter what. His muscles trembled with tension, and her cold skin under his fingers seemed like the last anchor connecting him to reality. He felt their bodies merging in the fall, their passion intertwining with the wind, and in that moment he knew they were one, even if this was the end.
