Chapter 116 - Dragon Soul

Marco, riding on the griffin Swan, flew into the Dragonpit through the massive opening at the top. Using his senses, Marco located the dying dragon soul in a corner of the building's base.

After ordering Swan to leave, Marco took out the glass candle he carried. This was a magical item from the Valyrian era that Marco had restored. It was a fascinating item. Marco could use it to cast fire magic, but the power wasn't very strong, not even as potent as "Magic Arrow." So, he'd ultimately made it into a lighting tool.

With the magical light of the glass candle, Marco could see the dragon soul's current state. Its transparent, glass-like body was covered in cracks. Several long, deep fissures extended across its entire form.

"Wooo..."

The dragon soul emitted mournful cries. Then, dark energy began to gather around it and Marco, with a pair of blood-red eyes hungrily staring at Marco as if they wanted to devour him.

Marco looked at these audacious wraiths and felt both amused and irritated. He sneered,

"If it weren't for me, you wouldn't even have the chance to wail here. Get back!"

His voice grew louder and louder, the last syllable turning into a roar. Along with Marco's roar, the Hag of the Underworld's figure gradually appeared. She let out an excited howl when she saw the wraiths.

The terrifying magic of the Hag of the Underworld's "Howl" spread rapidly outward. The energy, like blades, shot through the surroundings, instantly obliterating the weaker wraiths. They wailed as they dissolved into swirling motes of faint light.

Watching the Hag of the Underworld, who had entered the fray like a tiger among wolves, Marco approached the Dragon's soul, gently caressing its fragmented form.

"Ding! Beginning synthesis, consuming 10,000 units of mysterious crystals, consuming 10,000 units of amethyst…"

"Warning! Unknown interference detected…"

"Boom!"

Suddenly, a massive beam of light appeared in the sky, plummeting downwards. The terrifying heat instantly caused the temperature of the dragon pit to skyrocket, and Marco immediately sensed something was wrong.

In his perception, a terrifying energy was gathering underground. Without time to think, Marco quickly used the light magic, Teleportation.

A moment later, a circle of light appeared outside the dragon pit. As soon as he materialized, Marco felt that terrifying energy again, so he immediately initiated a second Teleportation.

However, before the magic could be cast, he was sent flying by a shockwave of green flames. The dragon pit on Rhaenys Hill was completely blown out from the bottom by the terrifying impact, and the upper walls of the structure were lifted over ten meters. Once it landed, the entire dragon pit turned into a sea of green fire.

Ding! Your recruited creature, Crystal Drake, synthesis failed. Analyzing processing methods... Ding! Your magical summoned creature, Hag of the Underworld, has been confirmed dead. As it is a magical creature, resurrection is not possible. This magic will be erased. Analyzing processing methods...

With a "thud," Marco slammed hard against the wall of a house. He hadn't even had time to check his injuries when he heard the system's notification.

So, Marco's face darkened as he turned his gaze towards a massive building shimmering in the setting sun, where the giant seven-pointed star symbol on the top looked incredibly sacred.

"Fine! You've pissed me off again. Aren't you supposed to be the strongest in Westeros? Then wait and see as I knock you off your pedestals, turning you into the so-called heretics you claim I am! Hmph!"

Uncontrollable rage and killing intent surged in Marco's mind, but he held back. He didn't fully understand this so-called The Seven, and he wouldn't take his anger out on The Seven's followers. He knew where the real blame lay, and Marco wouldn't let the main culprits off the hook.

Although he really wanted to burn down a certain grand sept right now, he couldn't stay here any longer. The flames under the Dragonpit were still raging, and that scorching beam of light seemed to have ignited the wildfire buried beneath.

There were rumors that the "Mad King," Aerys Targaryen II, had buried a large amount of wildfire beneath King's Landing, intending to have everyone in the city die with his kingdom. But with his death, it was all buried in history.

After Robert Baratheon came to power, he ordered the City Watch of King's Landing (also known as the Gold Cloaks) to inspect the entire city. They did find some wildfire jars. They overlooked certain special places, but they found nearly half of the wildfire. The Dragonpit area, however, had avoided inspection because it was considered an ominous place.

Unexpectedly, Marco had experienced it firsthand, and today, wildfire proved its terrifying power once again. The green flames shot into the sky and burned fiercely, quickly spreading outwards.

"Boom..."

Suddenly, a series of muffled thunderclaps came from Blackwater Bay. In a short while, sheets of rain clouds swept over the sea, and soon, the Dragonpit was covered in dark clouds.

The heavy rain quickly poured down from the sky. Refracted by the setting sun, a rainbow of holy light shimmered above the dragon pit. This sight filled the commoners and Gold Cloaks who had rushed to put out the fire with excitement. Some devout believers even began to pray on the spot.

Marco stood atop a high building on Silent Sisters Street, calmly observing everything. Lightning flashed continuously beneath the dark clouds, seemingly ready to strike at Marco.

"Roar..."

At that moment, a terrifying surge of fire erupted into the sky. A dragon-shaped, ghostly green flame shot upwards. After reaching the sky, it exploded, and the intense shockwave looked as though it would tear the sky apart.

The flames that had been burning in the dragon pit disappeared, leaving only the smoking ruins and mist. Those who had come to extinguish the fire were now at a loss, looking at each other in confusion.

Marco then felt two energy aggregates slowly descending from the sky, and their target was him. Before he could react, the system's notification sounded.

"Ding! Two biological cores detected: Crystal Drake and Hag of the Underworld. Conditions met to activate the resurrection mechanism. Please wait patiently..."

"Ding! Resurrection plan initiated. Crystal Drake, 10,000 gold, 2 crystals. Due to severe damage to the soul core, only a primal rebirth can be performed. Do you wish to proceed?"

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have obtained 1 Crystal Drake egg, which is expected to hatch in 3 days."

"Ding! The Hag of the Underworld revival plan has been initiated. Due to its nature as a magical summoned creature, the situation is special and cannot be directly restored for now. The plan is being revealed..."

"Plan One: Death Spirit, a pure undead creature, with unchanged basic skills. Biological Level 7. It is a recruitable creature, and skills that are not unlocked will no longer be available."

"Plan Two: Shadow Elf Queen, a flesh and blood life form, Biological Level 7, with unknown special skills..."

Just as Marco was about to make a choice, a voice suddenly echoed in Marco's mind. The voice was soft and gentle, but it sounded a bit broken, not very clear!

"Master... alive..."

"Ding! Would you like to spend 10,000 gold and 2 mercury to resurrect?"

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have obtained the recruitable creature, Shadow Elf Queen, which is expected to be resurrected in 5 days."

"Ding! The time and options for resurrecting creatures will appear in the magic book. Please pay attention, Host!"

Marco looked at the countdown on a page in the magic book, and his mood improved a lot. He turned his head and looked at a huge building in the center of the city, murmuring to himself:

"Hmph! And the 20,000 resources I spent will also be charged to your account. I've long heard that besides the royal family, you lot are the wealthiest. Wait and see how I deal with you later!"

With that, Marco used Teleportation and left the building. Not far away, on the ruins of the dragon pit, the people who had come to put out the fire began to leave in twos and threes.

The events of this evening were shrouded in an air of mystery. It was estimated that tomorrow, the entire King's Landing would be discussing this matter, but none of it concerned Marco.

Because, at this moment, he had returned to the Golden Tree Flower Inn. He had been busy all day and was truly exhausted. After greeting the two sailors on night watch at the inn's entrance, Marco went up to the third floor on his own.

The Golden Tree Flower Inn was a four-story building, beautifully decorated. Most importantly, it had a large amount of incense. The alchemists of Lys weren't just good at making poisons; their perfumes and incense were also world-famous.

King's Landing smelled awful. Even though people cleaned up the filth every day, some people still didn't care about hygiene. After all, many didn't even have a place to live, and they had neither the time nor the energy to care about cleanliness.

As a person from Earth, Marco simply couldn't adapt to this place, let alone live here. What truly appealed to Marco was the incense here.

After a long day of work, what Marco wanted most was to sleep soundly with his little wife, and have a sweet dream while smelling the charming floral fragrance.

Marco's room was a two-story room with a spiral staircase, luxuriously decorated, and fully equipped with a dedicated bathroom and lavatory. Marco and Moonshadow's room was on the top floor, in the middle.

Dazed and confused, Marco didn't see clearly and pushed open the door and walked in. He quickly dove into the covers, and habitually embraced the beautiful "lover" beside him. Marco then fell into a deep sleep. Perhaps because he was too tired, or for other reasons, he didn't feel any difference in the person he held.

The night quickly passed. Early the next morning, still dazed, Marco grabbed something soft as cotton, and after a quick feel, he finally noticed the difference.

Gently opening his eyes, Marco saw a pair of golden eyes and a slightly flushed face. Her delicate features were exquisitely beautiful.

Marco looked at her charming face and couldn't help but kiss her. Maeve was startled at first, then shyly and awkwardly responded to Marco. Her body was a little stiff, and Marco took this opportunity to take advantage.

Finally, until Maeve, shyly, stopped him, Marco then helped her get dressed. During this, he naturally took advantage of her a lot, until Maeve pretended to be dissatisfied. Only then did Marco leave the room with this beautiful archangel.

When the two of them went out, they happened to meet Nymph and Moonshadow. Maeve was incredibly shy when she saw Moonshadow and hid directly behind Marco. Moonshadow ran over and grabbed her hand, saying to her:

"The Green Seer told me a long time ago that Marco is the Dragon King, and he needs at least two queens. Now it's good, you're the same as me, and we can help him better!"

Maeve's face flushed even redder at the words. She stammered, "We... we haven't... ah?"

Moonshadow looked very experienced and said to Maeve, "What are you afraid of? It's... ugh..."

Before Moonshadow could finish speaking, Maeve, embarrassed, covered her mouth. The mermaid Nymph watched with a face full of curiosity, so she asked Moonshadow and Maeve:

"What are you talking about? Sister Maeve, are you playing some kind of game with Lord Marco? Can you take me with you next time?"

As soon as she said this, Maeve was even more ashamed and wanted to find a hole to crawl into. She quickly cast a secret glance at Marco, only to find him watching her with a playful look. Maeve was even more embarrassed and ran downstairs.

Moonshadow looked at her strangely and turned to ask Marco:

"Marco! I felt you enter Maeve's room last night, and I thought you were..."

Marco raised his hand to stop her, gently pulling her closer. "Come on! I have something to tell you. We've mostly finished here, and we can think about going back."
