"Exterminate, exterminate evil spirits?!"
Hearing Lin's words, Yurikawa Hana was dumbfounded.
Wasn't this too soon?
She hadn't even mentally prepared herself yet.
Yotsuya Miko blinked at this, reminded of her past self.
Back then, she had just signed the clansman contract with Lin and was immediately taken to exterminate evil spirits.
Lin smiled faintly and said:
"What's there to fear? The best way to overcome fear is to face it head-on, and besides, Miko and I are here."
"These mere evil spirits are nothing."
"That's right, we're here too."
Yotsuya Miko nodded in agreement.
Yurikawa Hana needed to overcome her fear of ghosts quickly, or there might be trouble later.
For instance, if an evil spirit's terrifying appearance scared her too much, causing her to get injured.
Though the clansman contract ensured she wouldn't die.
But injury was still possible.
"O-Okay... fine."
Hearing Lin and Yotsuya Miko's reassurances, Yurikawa Hana thought it made sense and nodded in agreement.
True enough.
Evil spirits weren't that big a deal.
They were just scary-looking.
She was a superpowered esper now, with a powerful god as her boyfriend. Mere evil spirits were no match.
Feeling the warmth spreading from her lower abdomen throughout her body, strong confidence shone in Yurikawa Hana's eyes.
Hmph, not afraid at all!
She felt filled with courage.
Two minutes later, in the alley.
"Ah!!!"
Seeing the hideous evil spirit suddenly appear before her, Yurikawa Hana let out a terrified scream.
Her rosy cheeks instantly paled.
She reflexively did what felt safest: pouncing into Lin's arms beside her, burying her face in his chest, hugging him tightly, and trembling.
Terrifying, terrifying.
Way too terrifying!
Why did such a scary thing exist in the world?
"Bad guy..."
Taking in Yurikawa Hana's reaction, Yotsuya Miko glanced at Lin and gave him a light eye-roll.
Knowing full well she was scared of ghosts and monsters, Lin had grabbed an evil spirit and shoved it right in her face.
Bad, he was simply too bad.
Gently patting Yurikawa Hana's back to soothe her, Lin smiled softly and said in a gentle voice:
"It's okay, Hana. Don't be scared, I'm right here."
"The evil spirit is just ugly. I've already immobilized it; it can't hurt you."
"Open your eyes and look."
"...Okay."
With Lin's reassurance, the trembling Yurikawa Hana calmed down after a bit and gradually regained her senses.
She took a deep breath.
Cautiously opening her eyes, she sneakily peeked at the evil spirit firmly bound by psychokinesis.
Its upper head split vertically in two.
Bloody tendrils wriggled in the middle.
Black eye sockets, mouth full of fangs.
Two blood-red eyes on its neck.
Just glancing at it felt like being stalked by a starving beast.
A chill ran through her entire body.
Seeing the evil spirit's horrific form, Yurikawa Hana's eyes trembled slightly, her face paling again.
Her heart was still racing.
Fortunately, as Lin said, the evil spirit couldn't move, bound in place by some force.
"What do I do?"
Yurikawa Hana took a deep breath and turned to Lin.
Lin smiled and said: "Mobilize the power inside you and attack the evil spirit directly."
"Use this."
With that, Lin summoned the black sword.
The one used to summon the Divine Drag-Ride, Bahamut.
Though Yurikawa Hana couldn't use it to summon Bahamut, it could serve as an ordinary longsword.
Even without Bahamut, the black sword's material made it cut iron like mud, indestructible.
Yurikawa Hana took the black sword.
Cautiously channeling her Gold Aura into it, golden flames-like light appeared on the blade.
Gritting her teeth, she gripped the hilt with both hands, raising it high and slashing down at the evil spirit with full force.
Whoosh~~~ A faint whoosh of wind.
The black sword infused with Gold Aura cleaved the evil spirit in two.
Its spirit body dissipated into wisps of black energy.
A golden energy sword beam shot from the blade.
Before it could hit anything, Lin's psychokinesis erased it.
"Huff... huff..."
Seeing the evil spirit defeated, the tensed Yurikawa Hana relaxed completely, panting softly.
A look of lingering fear on her face.
"That's enough for today."
Seeing this, Lin checked his phone and said.
"Okay."
Yurikawa Hana nodded vigorously.
Yotsuya Miko nodded too.
Putting away the black sword, Lin slowly dispersed the concealment. The three left the alley and headed to the barbecue shop.
Yurikawa Hana held Lin's hand with one hand and Yotsuya Miko's with the other, eyes darting around.
Secretly searching for evil spirits.
Though terrified inside, she couldn't control her gaze.
The type who was noob yet loved to play.
Having seen an evil spirit up close, she knew she'd have nightmares tonight, maybe even be unable to sleep.
So she turned to Yotsuya Miko:
"Miko, come to my place tonight. Sleep with me."
"Mm... sure."
Understanding her intent, Yotsuya Miko nodded.
Lin raised an eyebrow with a smile:
"Why not sleep with me?"
"Do you think your boyfriend can't protect you, Hana?"
"No, of course not."
Worried Lin might misunderstand, Yurikawa Hana quickly explained, then blushed shyly:
"We just got together; doing that kind of thing... I..."
Her voice trailed off smaller and smaller.
She shyly averted her gaze from Lin.
Seeing this, Lin's lips curved:
"What kind of thing? I just meant sleeping together innocently, nothing else."
"Didn't expect you to think..."
His words cut off.
He gave Yurikawa Hana a meaningful look.
"Mu!!!"
Yurikawa Hana's face turned blood-red.
Shame filled her heart.
She lowered her head.
Almost burying her face in her ample chest.
"Alright, no more teasing."
Seeing this, Lin smiled faintly.
The three arrived at the barbecue shop, paid, and took six large bags of packed barbecue before heading to the station together.
They parted at the station.
Yotsuya Miko and Yurikawa Hana headed back to their homes in Kita Ward.
Lin went to Nerima Ward.
By the time he returned home, Tohru, Kanna, Akasha, and Sakurajima Mai were already back.
Kanna was watching TV in the living room.
Tohru, Akasha, and Sakurajima Mai were in the kitchen.
Night fell quietly.
At 2:30 a.m.
Lin returned from the Mirage Realm to the Human Realm.
Releasing psychokinesis to locate Yotsuya Miko and Yurikawa Hana, he vanished instantly.
Reappearing in Yurikawa Hana's bedroom.
On the bed, Yotsuya Miko slept beside Yurikawa Hana. Lin smiled faintly, reaching out to her.
Feeling the anomaly,
Yotsuya Miko woke from her sleep.
Seeing Lin, she was stunned. Before she could speak, he sealed her lips.
