A man and a woman stood at the school gate.
The male was a middle-aged uncle. He was dressed much like a priest, with a cross necklace hanging around his neck. The corners of his mouth were turned up, carrying a touch of a smile. He appeared amiable and approachable.
The female looked to be about eighteen. She was a beauty with an outstanding figure and appearance. She had brown waist-length hair, slender eyebrows, and purple eyes. Her upper body was clad in a white shirt with a small black suit jacket over it. Her lower body was adorned with a black straight skirt. The hem of the skirt covered down to just above her ankles, and she wore black medium-heeled leather shoes.
She had a tall, curvaceous figure; the waist-cinching straight skirt made the silhouette of her chest appear even more magnificent, and her waist was slender enough to be held in a single grip. Her skin was fair, radiating a healthy color. Her attire and dress looked much like that of a career woman in the Human Realm.
Watching Lin and his group approach, the middle-aged man saw Akasha, and a flash of a strange emotion involuntarily surfaced in his eyes.
His gaze swept over the women. He paused briefly on Tohru and Kanna, finally resting his gaze on the center of the group, Lin.
Once Lin and the others drew near, he spoke with a smile on his face:
"Greetings to you all. I am the Headmaster of Yokai Academy, Mikogami Tenmei. Welcome, everyone, for coming all this way."
"This is Yokai Academy's Assistant Teacher, Tojo Ruby."
Mikogami Tenmei took the opportunity to introduce the beautiful girl beside him.
"Akasha, how have you been?"
He looked at Akasha and greeted her.
"Long time no see, Mikogami."
Akasha looked at him, smiling and nodding.
After a simple exchange of greetings, Mikogami Tenmei looked at Lin again.
"May I ask your esteemed surname?"
"My surname is Lin. I am Lin."
Lin smiled faintly at this. His gaze swept over Mikogami Tenmei and looked toward Tojo Ruby beside him. A ripple flashed through his eyes. She was a bit different from what he knew. For instance, her external image.
He remembered her fixed image seemed to involve tying a bunch of ponytails on each side of her head with white hair ties. Lin looked at Tojo Ruby. He did not conceal his gaze.
Mikogami Tenmei and the women all noticed his behavior. Being sized up by Lin, Tojo Ruby's eyes moved slightly, and a strange look appeared. Mikogami Tenmei's gaze flashed.
The women also sized up Tojo Ruby just like Lin; after all, it looked like the other party might become a companion.
Tojo Ruby felt somewhat uncomfortable with this. Fortunately, Lin did not look for too long. After a brief look, he shifted his gaze, looking at Mikogami Tenmei, and said:
"What do you want to talk about?"
Mikogami Tenmei smiled: "Please do not be in a rush. I have already prepared a place for our upcoming conversation. If you do not mind, everyone, please follow me."
"Fine."
Lin nodded. Since they were already here, and the other party wanted to do the honors of a host with a good attitude, he certainly didn't mind staying for a while. At any rate, he was a Purple Card.
Under Mikogami Tenmei's lead, Lin and his group shuttled through Yokai Academy, walking toward a certain building.
Along the way, the group attracted the attention of many yokai in the school. After all, there were simply too many beauties. And each had their own unique merits.
However, no yokai with a brain cramp generated any crooked thoughts. For example, being hard-headed enough to look for trouble. That was because the one leading the way was the school's Headmaster, a dragon who shows his tail but never his head—one of the immortal legends of the Yokai Realm.
Although this Headmaster was rarely seen, basically all yokai knew of his appearance.
There were also yokai who recognized Lin. After all, the last time he came here, he had wiped out Kuyō, the former leader of the Public Safety Committee, right in public view. It wasn't even him personally taking action. It seemed to have been just a summoned creature.
Therefore, these yokai all watched from afar, discussing in hushed tones.
Ten or so minutes later.
Lin and his group followed Mikogami Tenmei and Tojo Ruby to a luxurious building that was only two stories high. The first floor looked like a super-large reception hall. The kind that could be used to host a banquet.
A large rectangular table was placed in the center, with ten chairs arranged on each side, capable of seating twenty people. Various foods and drinks were already on the table.
Mikogami Tenmei looked at Lin and asked with a smile: "Lin, I would like to have a private chat with you."
"Sure."
Lin agreed directly.
Seeing Lin agree, Mikogami Tenmei smiled and looked at Tojo Ruby:
"Ruby, trouble yourself to entertain the guest's female companions."
He could tell at a glance that the relationship between the opposite sex following Lin and Lin himself was not ordinary, Akasha included. On the surface, he remained composed. In his heart, however, he couldn't help but marvel.
"Yes, Headmaster."
Tojo Ruby nodded upon hearing this.
Mikogami Tenmei looked at Akasha and nodded to her, counting it as a greeting, then looked back at Lin:
"Please follow me."
Lin followed behind him. The two arrived at a small living room on the second floor.
"Please sit."
They sat on single sofas facing each other. Lin picked up some black tea: "If the Headmaster has something to say, please speak frankly."
"Then I will speak frankly."
Mikogami Tenmei looked at Lin, smiled faintly, and voiced his inquiry:
"Are you human?"
Lin raised his eyebrows slightly, looking at him: "Why do you ask that?"
Mikogami Tenmei's smile remained unchanged: "Because I often leave the Yokai Realm to go to the Human Realm and travel through various human countries. Although there are quite a few ability users with special strength among humans, their strength is not considered strong in my eyes. But you are different. Therefore, I wish to know whether you are actually human."
Hearing this, Lin couldn't help but smile:
"Under normal circumstances, I am human."
"A very interesting answer."
Hearing Lin's answer, Mikogami Tenmei's eyes flashed slightly. He said a sentence with a smile, then continued:
"I heard from the head of the Shuzen family that you took Alucard's main body, which was under seal, from him. And you also wiped out Alucard's clone. May I be so bold as to ask about the situation of Alucard's main body?"
"You should have a guess already, right?"
Lin did not answer but asked in return.
Mikogami Tenmei said thoughtfully: "By that, you mean Alucard has been thoroughly eliminated by you?"
"That's right."
Lin nodded gently with a smile.
After receiving confirmation, Mikogami Tenmei couldn't help but feel a slight tremor in his heart. Even though he had already guessed the result, he still couldn't help but be shocked. After all, that was the undying True Ancestor Alucard; if they could have killed him back then, they wouldn't have sealed him.
Just who exactly was Lin?
Under normal circumstances, he was human. Then what about under abnormal circumstances?
Just then, Lin received a notification that the Codex of All Things had lit up. A trace of surprise flashed past his eyes.
Mikogami Tenmei looked at Lin and spoke with a look of gratitude:
"Thank you for eliminating Alucard. You have solved a massive threat for our Yokai Realm; I am extremely grateful."
Lin smiled faintly: "No need to be polite. I killed him only for personal reasons, not for you all."
Mikogami Tenmei heard this and said: "Regardless of what your purpose was, you still indirectly saved the Yokai Realm. Although I know you likely do not need it, if you have any needs in the future, you can come find me. As long as it is something I can do, I guarantee I will not decline."
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind."
Seeing this, Lin smiled and nodded.
At this moment, Mikogami Tenmei's eyes turned slightly, and he asked meaningfully:
"By the way, what do you think of Tojo Ruby?"
