Luo Guang's decision caught the assembled sorcerers completely off guard. They had prepared a massive reception, including welcome feasts, luxurious hotels, and even the promise of a "wine pool and meat forest"—countless scantily clad beauties ready to dance and frolic at a single command.
Unsure of Luo Guang's personality, and unable to get any information from the tight-lipped elite, Liliana Kranjcar, they resorted to preparing the standard things men supposedly love. They figured a young Campione would be hot-blooded, and a generous supply of beautiful women might temper his unpredictable nature. Having dealt with other eccentric Demon Kings, they had their own set of protocols. Since every Campione had their own set of rules, as long as they didn't violate them, they would be safe. They intended to use this reception as a chance to gauge Luo Guang's character before deciding on their long-term approach.
They were stunned that Luo Guang refused to play by their rules, completely disregarding their preparations and demanding immediate passage to Sardinia. Why was he so decisive? Did an Unconquered God really exist on the island? They remembered Luo Guang flew in from thousands of kilometers away in New Delhi, yet the news of God Beasts only broke within the last two days. Their own investigation teams hadn't found any trace of a god yet. They wondered if the new King was just too excited from his first god-slaying and was rushing over just because of a Divine Beast sighting.
They hadn't yet notified the Marquis of Voban or the Sword King Doni because they feared sending their Demon Kings on a fruitless trip for a mere Divine Beast.
Despite their reservations, they dared not disobey Luo Guang's command. They only offered a caution: "Information about Sardinia is unclear. We only have reports of Divine Beasts. There has been no sign of an Unconquered God's presence." They didn't want to be held responsible if Luo Guang found nothing, fearing he would turn his wrath on the local magical societies.
"If there isn't one, I won't blame you," Luo Guang stated flatly.
But was there an Unconquered God on Sardinia?
Of course, there was. The commotion was being caused by Verethragna and Melkart. One claimed to be the King of the Gods, the other, the Undefeated God of War. Both refused to yield, clashing violently. Since ordinary people couldn't see Unconquered Gods, they only perceived it as sudden, severe weather. The local sorcerers only felt the aura of Divine Beasts.
However, all this was irrelevant to Luo Guang. His certainty that the gods were there was enough. He also had no interest in getting involved with these magical societies.
The sorcerers quickly prepared a large cruise ship. Inside and out, besides the necessary crew, only a few sorcerers and Liliana followed them.
The cruise ship sailed steadily across the sea. Luo Guang stood at the bow, holding Est and taking photos of her. Liliana watched them from the stern, lost in thought. Compared to the other Campiones, Luo Guang seemed to be the only one who retained a sense of "humanity."
Meanwhile, shortly after Luo Guang's departure, Paul Blontelli, the leader of the Bronze Black Cross, called his niece, who was currently investigating on Sardinia.
"Is something wrong, Uncle Paul?"
The voice belonged to a girl with bright, golden hair like the rising sun. Erica Blandelli wore a vibrant red top and black mid-length pants. Her clothing was simple but stylish, giving her an air of easy confidence. She had a slender waist and eyes as bright and keen as a lion's. Her youthful face was filled with the vitality and charm expected of her age. As Milan's top beauty, Erica's background was privileged. She had lived up to her family's expectations, achieving the Great Knight rank before the age of sixteen. She was on track to take the title "Crimson Devil" and the leadership of the Bronze Black Cross from her uncle.
To better prove herself, Erica had volunteered to go to Sardinia. If she found a Divine Beast, she would attempt to seal it. If it was an Unconquered God, she was even tempted to meet it. However, the news from her uncle still surprised her.
"The Seventh Campione will arrive at Sardinia in half an hour? That quickly?"
"The file on that Campione has been sent to you. If you meet him on the island, do not be reckless as you usually are."
"Do I really have that reputation in your eyes, Uncle? But rest assured, I wouldn't be foolish enough to fight a Campione," Erica replied.
"Incidentally, Liliana Kranjcar is with the Seventh Campione. If possible, try to gather some information about the King from her." Paul hung up the phone after that.
"My Lily... I never thought she would be with the Seventh Campione," Erica muttered. She had originally planned to avoid the conflict's center. Now, however, her curiosity was thoroughly piqued.
The cruise ship reached the vicinity of Sardinia on schedule. However, upon entering the forty-kilometer radius, the weather rapidly deteriorated. Thunder roared, and rain lashed down violently. Waves several meters high continuously slammed against the hull. The entire ship pitched and rolled like a rollercoaster.
Most of the crew had to find something to secure themselves, and even the highly skilled Liliana had strapped herself into a safety harness.
But when she looked back, she saw Luo Guang. Even as the cruise ship tilted nearly forty-five degrees in the raging waves, his feet remained planted on the deck as if he were standing on solid ground.
Is he even human?
