Chapter 48 - A Message

Minho started to feel his consciousness in the real world returning as he remained plunged in the darkness behind his eyes.

His system sure did drop a lot of messages.

Minho slowly opened his eyes, glowing with a deep crimson. He exhaled, steam leaving the corners of his mouth. "Haa,"

The first thing he noticed was a wing. "Hmm?" He raised his head and then surveyed the area, seeing his disciples motionless on the floor with half-lided eyes.

His eyes finally landed on Rakkan who was choking Vasha and staring at him with wide eyes.

Vasha's hands eventually dropped and her eyes closed shut.

Minho tilted his head. Though, his expression was blank and emotionless, Minho clutched his fists, enough to make them bleed.

'This aura… the amount of mana… it's too early. I knew Sillad didn't plan this well.' Rakkan thought. 'But does it change anything? He doesn't know what happened to his predecessor, right? He's not a vessel, but a succeso—'

The Beast Monarch's thought was cut short when in one blink, Minho wasn't at the spot he was sitting. He also felt the weight of Vasha's body taken off his arm.

Only problem was, his hand was also taken off his arm.

He turned to see Minho by his side, holding Vasha's body, with a dagger in hand and his own hand on the floor.

Out of instincts, Rakkan quickly raised his other hand which was now partially transformed to his beast claws, about to attack Minho.

But before his claws came down, Minho's fingertips were already on his chest.

"Sit back a bit," Minho muttered, his voice low. With a simple flick of his wrist, he pushed Rakkan off, but it sent Rakkan flying into a wall.

Minho looked at Vasha's pale body. Surprisingly, he could see her health percentage now and it was going down as time went on.

[Disciple: Vasha "The Mistress of Slimes"

- Health: 8%]

He wasn't sure she was even breathing, but he decided to give it a try.

[Using Monarch's Vitality on target!]

The health percentage paused for a while, then it started dropping again.

[- Health: 6%]

[- Health: 5%]

He tried again. There was nothing. It was the same as earlier.

Minho tried again to confirm.

[Using Monarch's Vitality on target!]

Still nothing.

Minho slowly turned his head to Rakkan who was now recovering. "I pray I let you live to deliver my message," he muttered.

Then Vasha coughed. Minho quickly turned back and saw the health was finally going back up, and thankfully, it was fast.

[- Health: 6%]

[- Health: 9%]

He then exhaled and stood up, gently dropping her head.

Rakkan used his Spiritual Body Manifestation. Now in his Beastly humanoid form, he still dared not to attack Minho.

Minho walked over to Eslin and Rathalos, using the same treatment on them, but unlike Vasha, they were still holding on.

Though when he checked Bihami, the slime was already at zero and his system didn't even recognize it as a target to use Monarch's Vitality.

Minho then sighed and stood up, turning to Rakkan. He pointed his dagger at the Beast Monarch, a small smile playing on his lips. "Now, that's the form I remember. The one that betrayed him."

'... that's the form you…' The Beast Monarch thought, his eyes going completely wide in terror. "Impossible… that can't be," he muttered.

"You know when taking his core, I was forced to feel this… strange pain and at some point during the pained state, I felt the exact attacks you all made on him." Minho said casually, slowly walking closer. "That makes it all the more interesting to deal with you lot."

Rakkan took a step back, but he wouldn't let his pride die down so easily. He roared at Minho, but the latter was nowhere to be found.

Rakkan quickly spun around and spotted Minho. Before he could react, Minho slashed at his mouth, cutting his jaw halfway.

He attacked Minho but Minho kept on weaving through his attacks witg effortless grace.

Minho jumped and used a kick to slap the Beast Monarch in the face, sending him crashing into the wall again.

Claw-like lines of mana came from the dust and Minho quickly slashed them away with his dagger.

More followed and he kept cutting through them. Then it suddenly stopped as the dust cleared, revealing no one.

Minho looked up as saw Rakkan's form, descending with arms up, ready for a slam. Minho side stepped, just in time and grabbed the back of Rakkan's neck.

The Beast Monarch's eyes widened as Minho used his own drop against him, smashing his face into the ground.

He stood up and roared, his mana surging, muscles expanding and hide thickening. He vanished from Minho's vision, appearing right behind him.

Rakkan swiped his claws but Minho had predicted it already and bent down, stretching out his leg to connect a heel to the Beast Monarch's wounded jaw.

Drawing his leg back, Minho used the momentum do a backflip, driving another kicked into the Beast Monarch's head.

Minho landed behind Rakkan, not bothering to make distance as the latter stood up.

Rakkan didn't back down as he turned throwing a punch towards Minho's face, but the hand was caught just in time.

[Annihilate Activated!]

Crimson flames erupted from Minho's hand as he caught onto Rakkan's.

The Beast Monarch's hand was no more.

"Now that I have you maimed, let's play a game called," Minho's razor thin smile stretched a little. "Do you remember."

"Do you remember this one? You gave it to him, right there." Minho slashed at Rakkan's chest once, blood spraying out.

The Beast Monarch's eyes widened as he roared once more.

"How about this one?" Minho slashed again.

"This one?"

"How about this?"

"You have to remember this one, right?"

Minho kept on going, slash after slash until the Beast Monarch lay on the ground, completely soaked in his own blood.

Minho dismissed the dagger and walked over to Rakkan. "You're so lucky, I don't want you dead yet," he said, his expression and tone becoming serious as he cocked back his hand and drove his fist into Rakkan's face, on and on again, until he felt it was enough. "That one's for my disciples."

He then took Rakkan by the neck and raised him up. "Go on, open a gate."

Rakkan, weak and helpless, barely swung his claws to open a gate.

"Now listen here. Send this to the rest of the Monarchs," Minho said. "I am not the Monarch of Destruction,"

The Beast Monarch felt a little confused, utterly not understanding what Minho meant by that.

"But I'll still kill you all. Make sure the frosty gray-head sinks it in the most." Minho completed before tossing Rakkan through the gate.

As the gate sealed Minho exhaled. He so much wanted to kill the Beast Monarch brutally, but he had plans for all of them.

He walked to his Dragon Court as they now stood healed. Minho noticed Vasha using a greenish smoke to revive Bihami.

The exit gate of the dungeon appeared.

As he got close enough, they all bowed, including Bihami this time around.

Minho didn't say a word, just raised his head and walked out of the dungeon as they followed him.

Immediately, Minho's foot landed on the ground, something like a shockwave went through the world. But not all could notice it.

… …

Jinwoo's home...

Jinwoo was about to eat when he felt it.

… …

USA...

Thomas Andre sat in his office when the wave reached him. He removed his glasses, his expression hardening.

All the National Level Hunters and a few S-ranks across the world could feel the sudden presence that came in.

But there were others as well.

Australia...

A hooded figure sat by a staircase, three other hooded figures hanging around behind them.

As the wave hit them, they all paused.

The one sitting ahead smirked, and stood up. "Let's go," he said, walking down the stairs while the others followed.

As he walked down the stairs, he couldn't help but grin wider. "I guess the Court will have a purpose once again."
