Renamon stood firm, her blue eyes blazing with determination as she faced the Green Goblin. Gwen watched from a safe distance, her heart pounding in her chest, a knot of dread twisting in her stomach. Her father dangled precariously over the edge of the bridge, and now Renamon was about to fight what seemed to be an impossible battle.

The air crackled with tension as the two warriors circled each other, each assessing the other's strengths and weaknesses. The city lights twinkled below, a stark contrast to the darkness that enveloped them.

Renamon launched the first attack, throwing a volley of Diamond Storm at the Goblin. The razor-sharp leaves sliced through the air, but the Goblin was too quick. He sidestepped the projectiles, the wind whistling past his green skin, and countered with a burst of Goblin Fire.

Renamon dodged the flames, her agile body moving with incredible speed, and retaliated with a Power Paw. Her fist connected with the Goblin's chest, sending him staggering backward. The Goblin recovered quickly, a maniacal grin spreading across his face.

"Impressive," he sneered, wiping a smudge of soot from his cheek. "But you'll need more than that to stop me, little fox." He threw a pumpkin bomb that exploded, but Renamon jumped out of the way, her focus undeterred.

The fight continued, a blur of motion and energy. The momentum shifted back and forth, each combatant landing blows and dodging attacks.

Renamon, with her speed and agility, managed to evade most of the Goblin's attacks. Her Power Paw connected with the Goblin's face, but he retaliated with a devastating punch that sent her sprawling across the roadway.

The Goblin cackled, relishing his advantage. "Is that all you've got?" he taunted.

Renamon struggled to her feet, her body aching, but her spirit unbroken. She gathered her energy and launched another attack. The Goblin swatted her aside like an insect.

The Green Goblin finally gained the upper hand, his superior strength and arsenal proving too much for Renamon. The Goblin kicked Renamon away, sending her sprawling across the pavement. She slammed into a barrier, the impact jarring her senses.

"Pathetic," the Goblin sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "You're nothing but a glorified pet. Now, it's time to end this charade."

He turned his attention to Gwen, his eyes gleaming with triumph. He strode toward her, his footsteps echoing on the bridge. Gwen's eyes widened with horror as the Goblin seized her by the neck, his grip tightening. She struggled to break free, but his strength was overwhelming.

"Any last words, Gwen?" he hissed, his voice a rasp in her ear. "Perhaps a goodbye to your daddy." He held Gwen closer to the edge of the bridge, taunting George with his daughter's impending doom.

The Green Goblin's hand hovered over the detonator, his finger twitching, the red light reflecting in his eyes. "This is for you, Gwen," he said, his voice filled with maniacal glee. "You had a choice, and you chose to defy me. Now, pay the price."

Renamon lay motionless, and Gwen's face was inches from the Goblin's, her fate sealed. Just as the Goblin was about to push the button, Gwen, in a desperate act, held up her phone.

The Green Goblin paused, his brow furrowing in confusion. "What's this? Trying to call for help? No one can save you now, Chosen Child."

Suddenly, the phone's screen rippled, distorting like water, then violently burst open. A blue and yellow gauntlet, crackling with electrical energy, shot through the screen and connected with the Green Goblin's face.

It was Beetlemon's fist, amplified by the stored energy of the Digi-Gloves.

The force of the punch was cataclysmic. The Goblin's head snapped back, and the impact reverberated through his entire body. A sickening crack echoed across the bridge as a fissure spiderwebbed across his skull, and the force sent the Goblin careening backward, careening from one side of the street to the other.

The blow was immense. Ethan had channeled the power of the Human Spirit of Thunder and the accumulated energy of the Digi-Gloves into a single, devastating strike.

Stunned, the Green Goblin released his grip on Gwen and the detonator slipped from his grasp, tumbling toward the roadway below. The Goblin staggered, clutching his head, his senses reeling from the blow.

Instinct took over as Ethan saw the detonator falling. The Spirit Evolution crackled around him, granting him an impossible burst of speed. He launched himself into the air, a blue and yellow streak against the night sky, and snatched the detonator mid-fall.

A red and blue blur zipped across the bridge, an acrobatic feat of impossible grace and agility. Spider-Man, having witnessed the spectacle from a distance, swung into action, propelled by his own brand of desperate heroism. He swooped down like a slingshot, his web-shooters firing in perfect sequence.

With a swift motion, Spider-Man snagged George Stacy, hauling him away from the edge of the bridge. Then, with another fluid movement, he ripped the pumpkin bombs from George's chest, tossing them into the East River, where they detonated in harmless bursts of light and sound.

Spider-Man landed gently on the roadway near Gwen, setting George down beside her.

"You okay, Chief?" Spider-Man asked, his voice laced with concern behind the mask. George nodded, his face pale but his eyes filled with gratitude.

Gwen rushed forward, throwing her arms around her father. "Dad! Oh, Dad!"

She hugged him tightly, relief washing over her in a tidal wave. George returned the embrace, his own arms trembling. The terror of the past few moments faded into the background, replaced by the simple, profound joy of being reunited.

It was all going according to plan. Before heading to the bridge, Ethan had Connect Jumped into Gwen's phone. A risky gambit, using her device as a digital foxhole, but the element of surprise was worth it. Perched in the digital ether, he waited for the opportune moment.

Spider-Man had been their failsafe. With his agility and web-shooters, he was the only one fast enough to catch George.

Spider-Man landed on the bridge's concrete surface, surveying the scene with a critical eye. The relief was palpable, but the tension lingered in the air like a storm cloud. Ethan still hovered in the air, the Human Spirit of Thunder thrumming through him, and the Green Goblin lay stunned a distance away.

"Well, looks like everything went according to plan," Spider-Man announced, his tone a mix of relief and satisfaction.

Ethan released his spirit evolution and materialized on the bridge, staggering slightly from the expenditure of energy. He tapped his Digivice and a familiar pink figure emerged. "Cutemon, can you help Renamon? She took a beating."

Cutemon nodded, her big, round eyes filled with concern, and hopped towards the fallen fox Digimon. A soft, pink glow emanated from Cutemon's paws as she unleashed her Healing Aura. A gentle warmth washed over Renamon, her body relaxing, the aches and pains subsiding.

The fox Digimon stirs, wincing slightly, as her injuries began to mend. Color returned to her face, and her breathing deepened. She opened her eyes and focused on Cutemon, gratitude shining in her gaze.

Gwen rushed to Renamon's side, kneeling beside her. "Renamon, are you okay?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. "Thank you for protecting me. You were so brave."

Renamon managed a weak smile. "It was my duty, Gwen. You are... important."

It was a start. With Renamon by her side, maybe Gwen had a chance.

Ethan took the Digivice and sent both BlackGatomon and Gatomon out. "We aren't out of the woods yet," he said.

His heart was pounding. The real fight was just beginning.
