Jokermon reels, clutching his spine where my mimicked Celestial Arrow struck. The Digi-Mimic skill proves its worth, evening the odds. But I can't get cocky. He's still grinning. Angewomon and LadyDevimon press their advantage, forcing Jokermon to defend. He dodges Angewomon's radiant Heaven's Charm. LadyDevimon's Darkness Wave is next, but Jokermon teleports, reappearing behind her, scythe raised.

I react instantly, clapping my hands together for a Thunder Fist, but Jokermon anticipated my move and flips away. The Thunder Fist connects with empty air, sending a shockwave that rattles the bridge. Angewomon seizes the opening, unleashing another Celestial Arrow.

This time, Jokermon can't fully evade, the holy energy searing his arm. I assess the situation: he's hurt, but still dangerous. He needs to be subdued fast, before he can unleash a Shadowstone or some other nasty surprise. Angewomon and LadyDevimon must push harder, while I look for an opening.

"He's slowing down. Don't give him a break," I shout.

Time to turn up the heat.

A blinding flash ripped my attention from Jokermon. It's coming from Gwen's side of the bridge.

What the hell is that now?

Then I see it: Renamon. No, Kyubimon, the Champion-level fox Digimon standing tall next to Gwen. Her golden fur shimmered, nine tails wreathed in spectral blue flames. The power radiating off her is palpable, even from here.

A smile tugs at my lips. I knew it. Always suspected Gwen had some kind of hidden potential. And now it's confirmed: she's a Chosen Child. Plus, Kyubimon? Total upgrade. Nice to know I'm not alone in this crazy fight.

Angewomon and LadyDevimon pause their attacks, turning towards Kyubimon and Gwen.

"Well, well," LadyDevimon says, a smirk dancing on her lips. "Looks like the little fox finally found a Tamer."

"Took you long enough, Gwen," Angewomon adds, a hint of amusement in her voice. "I always knew you had the potential to become a Tamer."

Jokermon, however, does not look happy. At all. His face is a mask of pure, unadulterated frustration.

"Another meddling child…" he says.

I figure Gwen and Kyubimon can hold their own against the Green Goblin and Datamon for a bit. It's time to deal with this creepy clown once and for all.

"Sorry to cut your pity party short, Joker," I say, cracking my knuckles. "But you and I have unfinished business."

Angewomon and LadyDevimon trade glances, then refocus their attacks on Jokermon, who now has a truly displeased look on his face. It's almost comical, seeing this jester so flustered. Almost.

This is a war, not a joke.

"Alright, ladies," I say, cracking my neck. "Let's finish this."

The revelation washes over Gwen, her shock quickly morphing into unrestrained joy. "Renamon… you evolved! Are we… are we partners now?"

Kyubimon inclines her head, a serene smile gracing her fox-like features. "Indeed, Gwen. We are."

Gwen squeals, barely containing her excitement. "This is so cool!"

Kyubimon's tone shifts, a hint of concern entering her voice. "Gwen, you should stand back. With this new strength, I can fight more effectively."

But Gwen's adventurous spirit won't allow it. "No way! We're doing this together!" She leaps onto Kyubimon's back, gripping the golden fur.

A smile plays across Kyubimon's lips. "As you wish." With a surge of speed, they charge back into the fray.

Spider-Man, ever the jokester, swings past. "Hey, Renamon got a new look! I dig it!"

The Green Goblin, momentarily distracted, recovers quickly, spitting with contempt. "A mere transformation changes nothing! You are still insignificant!"

Kyubimon, however, is ready to prove him wrong. Blue flames erupt around her paws as she leaps towards the Goblin, launching a barrage of Onibidama – will-o'-the-wisp balls of spectral fire. WHOOSH!

Each strike explodes in a burst of light and heat, forcing the Goblin to veer wildly on his glider.

The Goblin, disoriented, finds himself pushed back.

Gwen is filled with astonishment, her eyes wide. "Wow, Kyubimon! You're so strong!"

The fox Digimon smiles, pride evident in her voice. "This is but a fraction of what we can achieve together, Gwen!"

Greymon roars his approval, the sound echoing across the bridge. "Show 'em what you got, Kyubimon!"

Garurumon howls in support, his voice laced with admiration. "Yeah! Go get 'em, Gwen!"

Even Spider-Man chimes in, his tone laced with genuine excitement. "That's a cool upgrade! Show that creep what you can do!"

Suddenly, the screech of metal cuts through the air as Okuwamon swoops down, its massive scissor claws snapping. SNAP!

Chaos erupts as everyone scatters to avoid the insectoid Digimon's attack. The bridge trembles beneath its weight.

Spider-Man surveys the scene, his gaze settling on the clustered pumpkin bombs he had disarmed while rescuing George Stacy. A mischievous glint sparks in his eyes. "That giant insect is really a problem."

He glances at Gwen and Kyubimon, who stand ready to face Datamon. A plan begins to form.

"Hey, Gwen," he calls out, "think you can handle this side of the freakshow for now?"

Gwen, her eyes blazing with determination, nods firmly. "We've got this, Spider-Man! You go take care of that bug!"

Spider-Man grins, relieved to have such capable allies. "Alright, then! Time to bug out!"

With a web-slinging leap, Spider-Man snatches the deactivated pumpkin bombs, securing them to his back with practiced ease. "MailBirdramon, buddy, mind giving a wall-crawler a lift?"

MailBirdramon banks sharply, its metallic beak glinting under the bridge lights. "Hop on, Spider-Man. But hold tight, this is gonna get bumpy."

Spider-Man latches onto MailBirdramon's back, webbing himself securely to the avian Digimon's chassis. "Alright, let's get this party started! Hey, Bug-For-Brains! You like fireworks?"

Okuwamon's crimson eyes fixate on the taunting figure, its mandibles snapping in fury. A guttural screech tears through the air as the insectoid Digimon abandons its pursuit of the others, pivoting towards Spider-Man and MailBirdramon with single-minded aggression.

"That sure got his attention," Spider-Man quips, bracing himself as MailBirdramon accelerates.

The sky above the Queensboro Bridge becomes a battleground. Okuwamon gives chase, its scissor claws snapping, each strike a razor-edged whisper in the wind. MailBirdramon, with its sleek design, answers every attack, its pilot dodging, weaving, and barrel-rolling through the night sky. Spider-Man clings desperately to MailBirdramon, the wind threatening to rip him from his precarious perch, the city lights blurring below.

Okuwamon fires a barrage of razor-sharp chitin fragments, each one a potential death knell. SHWING! MailBirdramon pulls up sharply, narrowly avoiding a direct hit. SHWING! Another projectile slices through the air, missing by inches. MailBirdramon executes a split-second barrel roll.

"Whoa! Careful up there, Feather-Duster!" Spider-Man yells, barely managing to hold on. "I haven't had my eight hours yet!"

Seeing a fleeting opening, Spider-Man seizes the chance. A web-shooter activates, firing twin streams of adhesive webbing directly into Okuwamon's multifaceted eyes. The insectoid Digimon reels back, screeching in blind rage.

"Now for the main course!" Spider-Man yells. Letting go of MailBirdramon, the masked hero plummets earthward, clutching the pumpkin bombs. Time seems to slow, the wind whistling in his ears, the ground rushing up to meet him.

As Spider-Man falls, he expertly flips to face Okuwamon, using the last of his momentum to hurl the cluster of pumpkin bombs directly into the monster's gaping maw.

"Hope you like pumpkin spice, pal!"

KRA-KOOOM!

The explosions detonate, a cacophony of light and force tearing through Okuwamon's innards. The insectoid Digimon's screech becomes a strangled groan as its body convulses in mid-air. Fragments of chitin and twisted metal rain down upon the bridge.

Okuwamon spirals downward, a broken mass of burning wreckage. CRASH! The falling body slams into the East River with a thunderous splash, sending a shockwave through the water and echoing across the city.

Spider-Man fires a webline, swinging back towards the bridge with a triumphant yell. "Alright!"

He lands gracefully beside MailBirdramon, pumping a fist in the air. "Another one bites the dust!"
