Attribute tiers.

There are 5 types of attributes:

Concept, Law, Rule, Element and Physical.

Physical attributes: these are attributes that cause structural changes.

Example: [cut]—the blade becomes sharper and edge persistent.

Elemental attributes: these are generally energy based and are watered down concepts. These give the wielder a [minor manipulation] of the attribute.

(For those who are wondering what kind of element can be attribute, look on battlewiki. Anything that has "manipulation" beside it)

Rule attributes: these determine how phenomena behave, interact or perceived.

Note: understanding of the causes and effects are needing to use as attributes.

Law attributes: these govern the fixed truths that define the world.

Example: [law of truth]—disallows lies within a certain range.

Note: a certain level of understanding is needed to properly perform. And as it is a "law", effect may vary depending on how it's perceived.

Concept attributes: these are the fundamental truth of reality.

Example: [death] 

Note: level of understanding determines the scope, strength—everything. These are higher order elemental attributes. 

As concepts are also made from minor concepts, additional concepts are gained from knowledge of parent concepts. Those need understanding as well.

For better understanding of elemental and physical attributes, think of spells in anime/games. Whether enhancement or fireball. They all can be placed under any of the two categories.

So attributes like [recovery] might not fall into any other two but it's still considered an attribute.
