[A/N: I went back and fixed everything, sorry about all that.]
Why would they fight so intensely? Because all universes followed strict rules and immutable limitations, and all universes were able to freely give out powerful talents to their inhabitants, otherwise, no one would have a talent below D tier at the very least. It was complex and intricate in its mechanics; first, the wish needed to be absolutely perfect and properly formed, and the rest of the planet needed to have a collected imagination strong enough to manifest it into reality. The Universe did the rest.
Those who had a strong imagination yet failed to word their wish correctly and precisely? Sucks for them; others would benefit from their collective energy and effort. Of course, if a whole race came together and worked the wish right with perfect clarity, they couldn't all get UR tier talents simultaneously.
The universe had to pick the best among them, selecting the most deserving candidate. The total imagination of a whole planet determined how many SSS-tier talents could be granted and distributed; no more than 1 UR tier talent per planet should be gained under normal circumstances, unless a planet's imagination was that heaven-breaking and unprecedented.
So, why was Nexus picked over so many other abilities that were wished for? Many people had wished for something worthy of being UR tier in power, but only 1 UR tier talent was picked from all of them. Many people wished for SSS tier talent with all their hearts, but only 14 people were picked and chosen.
Nexus was simply picked beyond all of them for the simple and straightforward reason, Seth's ability could get stronger indefinitely, for it's all math-based and limitless. So long as Seth could do the math correctly, even Infinity itself, stage 1 of Nexus Barrier could handle everything he came across without fail. There were more reasons, such as Seth being most suited, his wish being most creative, and so on.
But Chu Yin had, in fact, been the prime pick for Ur's tier talent; Seth had been second. But Seth's wish was so good, and seeing how two people on earth were capable of becoming such powerful Ur tier talent, it couldn't help but get greedy. But that's when it found out the truth behind Chu Yin.

"Nexus Empire… it does sound like a place where all races could live happily under the same flag," Seth said thoughtfully, looking at Evelin with a light and contemplative smile.
"I'm not marrying anyone here. I wish to bear your child. I have accepted marriage is off the table entirely…" Evelin said seriously, seeing through Seth's plan instantly and immediately. He wanted her to marry someone else, maybe Golden Lion; this would form a strong connection with the elves and secure political alliances.
"You want to do what?" A cold voice sounded sharply, drawing Evelin's attention immediately to Chu Yin, who was stepping into the office, throwing a cold and threatening glare at Evelin.
"I wish you no ill will, my lady. For the sake of my Elven race and their future, I'm simply looking at the best option available to us. The children I will have will not inherit my talent or abilities, but every child Seth has going forward has an almost 100% chance of inheriting his powerful talent." Evelin said respectfully and carefully,
"That's my problem, where?" Chu Yin asked coldly and sharply.
"It's not your problem directly. I simply speak for the hope of my race and my people; we were not capable of reaching beyond our galaxy with our capabilities. I'm hoping for such a future for them, but I might not be able to do such a thing in my timeline." Evelin said softly and with genuine sadness,
"What do you think about this?" Chu Yin asked pointedly, looking to Seth, who was lazily going through the massive stack of papers in front of him with disinterest.
"About what?" Seth asked with a lazy yawn, not looking up.
"About the whole carrying your seed?" She asked softly and carefully, to which Seth's face twisted in visible disgust and revulsion.
"You just reminded me, I need to get a vasectomy as soon as possible," Seth said, genuinely horrified by the idea of having a human child. Wouldn't they cut him open to steal a kidney the moment their kidneys stop failing?
He didn't want to cross his fingers and hope that on his deathbed, said human wouldn't stab him in the heart to take over the empire. Wasn't that humanity whole thing in stories? Poisoning and scheming against each other for power? Like it or not, but humans are naturally pulled towards evil. It's like they are born ready to do something wrong.
Raising your child is crossing your fingers that you did a perfect job. The more children you have, the higher the risk one of them will turn out to be the black sheep of the family... and let's not forget outside influence can just destroy all your hard work. Humans were a flawed race, sure, they had their good and their bad... Seth just wanted nothing to do with that race; he had all right to put a wall between himself and something he didn't like.
"What do you think about changing your race?" Chu Yin asked softly and gently, raising Seth's eyebrow in surprise and interest.
"I looked into it extensively. Sadly, you can't change your race. A dog can never become a cat." Seth said with resignation, turning to look at his books scattered around, not in the mood to think about such a good thing that was completely impossible.
"You don't need a vasectomy, I'm incapable of having children… but I was wondering if you wanted them?" She asked carefully, as she didn't belong to this universe naturally… well, she couldn't give birth to his children. It would be like a human trying to give birth to a shark—completely incompatible on a fundamental biological level.
"What would I need a child for?" Seth asked with a bored and disinterested look, although he was genuinely curious about the inability to have children. But he planned to ask that later in private… but truthfully, why on earth would he want to give birth to a child? The thought made him feel like throwing up in disgust.
"Not a human child," She asked carefully, making Seth pause for a second, before shaking his head firmly.
"Sounds like a pain," Seth said dismissively, but Chu Yin saw through the act easily. Seth wanted a child, maybe to bring his dream world from that trial he had experienced into reality… but how could he say yes when Chu Yin couldn't have kids?
She wanted to say something reassuring, but after looking at Evelin standing there, she shook her head. The thought of Seth sleeping with her was too much to bear. But she would be lying if she said she didn't want children one day, although not now at this moment… plus, in the upcoming futures that awaited them, Seth would need a clan of his own to support him.
Sure, he was incredibly powerful, but how would he face a clan that had UR tier talents that had existed for who knew how long? Seth was capable and strong, but Seth's future enemies would be clans that had UR tier talents that had bred amongst each other for generations to try and birth stronger talents through selective breeding.
Political marriages were a pain and headache, and she would need to be strong enough to ensure that Seth was never forced to do such a thing. She didn't care if it would be easier for both of them politically. She would sooner kill Seth herself than allow his dick to meet another woman… Selfish? Maybe, but she was sure Seth would feel the same way if she were to do such a thing, after all, the outside world was not filled with humans like Earth was.
Out there in the wider universe, females can have harems of their own. It's common out there for a main wife and a main husband to have seas of concubines serving them. Earth had brainwashed her completely to be disgusted by that cultural norm…
"How about you give her your seed?" She asked softly and reluctantly, willing to take a step backwards on this matter. It made her feel deeply uncomfortable, but if Seth wanted children, she would not take that chance away from him selfishly.
"Let's come back to this topic when the universe is under our rule, and we have no worries," Seth said with a roll of his eyes. In the grand scale of things and considering their situation… well, they were young, who knew how long until they were stable and secure, and by stable, Seth meant not having to worry about some arrogant young master coming by this galaxy and causing a chain reaction
He didn't want Chu Yin to be pregnant at the time, or someone else holding his child in their womb. That sounded like extra stress and vulnerability he didn't want to deal with. So, until a time of peace is gained that would last at least 18 years without interruption, he honestly didn't want to think about children at all.
"Okay." Chu Yin said with a genuine smile, for how could she not love Seth even more after hearing his words? Seth was so arrogant that he didn't even fear other Ur tier talents, but he would act like it just to put her mind at ease about this.
