Chapter 90 - The Grudge Between Vampires and Werewolves

Parking the car casually by the roadside, Li Qingyuan looked up at the building in front of him.

Selina had gone upstairs more than ten minutes ago.If he wasn't mistaken, this building should be Michael's residence.

As a direct human descendant of Alexander Corvinus, Michael had inherited that man's bizarre physical constitution. The blood flowing in his veins could merge both vampire and werewolf bloodlines, creating a completely new kind of hybrid lifeform.

That was why his blood was called Perfect Blood — a miraculous substance that every protagonist in the multiverse would come running to draw a sample of. You could even call it a special kind of hard currency!

Of course, compared to Alexander Corvinus, Michael's blood was far inferior — both in potency and in level. After all, one was the Primordial Progenitor, while the other was a distant descendant whose genetic mutation had somehow reverted back to its origin. There was simply no comparison between the two.

Still, unlike weakling Michael, Alexander was not someone to mess with.

Don't be fooled by how easily he was "killed" by Marcus in the movie's plot — but!

Marcus was Alexander's own son!Alexander had lived for over a thousand years and had long since grown weary of existence. When he faced his enraged son, it was clear the man had no will to fight back — practically seeking death himself.Otherwise, did you really think an immortal like Alexander could die that easily?

Besides, after more than a millennium of secret development, Alexander commanded an unparalleled network of power. The fact that he could effortlessly erase the existence of both vampires and werewolves from public view said everything.

"I've only got two and a half days," Li Qingyuan muttered to himself. "There's no time to deal with Alexander. I'll have to make do with Michael's blood instead!"

Meanwhile, inside the apartment building—

Michael had just returned from work when he noticed his front door was unlocked. He frowned in confusion, stepped inside… and was instantly slammed against the wall by someone hiding within.

"Why are those people after you?"Michael blinked in shock at the beautiful woman pinning him to the wall, his brain struggling to process what was happening.

So pretty. So sexy.

Those two thoughts flashed through his mind at once.Even though the woman's aura was terrifying, her tight combat suit and striking looks made it difficult to feel any fear at all.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" he stammered.

"Those people, those—" Selina started to say "werewolves," but she quickly shut her mouth. She couldn't expose the existence of werewolves to an ordinary human.

Even after serving as a Death Dealer for centuries, Selina had never once shed the blood of an innocent. In that sense, she was truly an anomaly among vampires.

"What do you want from me?" Michael rubbed his neck, finally managing to speak to the stunning woman who had suddenly appeared in his home.

If a scruffy old man had broken into his apartment, he'd have called the cops instantly. But since the intruder was a tall, long-legged beauty—Well… maybe the police could wait.

"Don't talk," Selina whispered sharply, her ears twitching slightly. She had caught the faint, suppressed breathing sounds hidden within the darkness.

Others wouldn't notice, but for a Death Dealer who spent her life hunting werewolves, that sound was unmistakable.

"Run! Now!"

She didn't know why so many werewolves had suddenly appeared here, but judging from the breathing, there were at least seven or eight of them.

Even as a Death Dealer, Selina knew she couldn't possibly protect Michael surrounded by that many. She could only give him one command—run.

"Run?" Michael blinked in confusion. Why the hell would he need to run?Did this chick have some weird fetish or something?

But when he saw Selina suddenly flick her wrists and draw two handguns from her sleeves, he bolted without hesitation.

A beauty was great and all—but you needed to stay alive to enjoy her!And any woman who carried guns around was definitely not someone to mess with.

As soon as he took off running, the werewolves burst from their hiding spots.

Honestly, these werewolves weren't exactly known for their brains. Why not grab Michael before he entered the apartment? Why wait until after he met the heroine to attack?Truly baffling!

Watching those monstrous figures crawling along the walls and leaping toward him, Michael felt his entire worldview collapsing.

Oh God…

What the hell was he even seeing?

Werewolves? Real, actual werewolves?!

He frantically jabbed at the elevator button, desperate to escape. As for that gorgeous long-legged girl from before?

Forget it. Survival came first. There'd be other beauties later.

When the elevator finally reached the first floor, Michael felt a surge of relief.Three blocks away was the police station—if he could just make it there, he'd be safe.

But before the doors could open, a deafening explosion rocked the corridor.

Outside, a burly man was writhing on the floor, half his body blown apart.

Selina came sprinting down the stairs, spotted Michael still frozen in shock, and yanked him by the arm."Move!"

The man on the floor—Lucian, the current leader of the werewolves—growled furiously.Seeing his "gift" snatched away, his eyes turned blood-red.The mangled flesh on his body began regenerating rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Lucian was no ordinary werewolf.Because their progenitor William was nothing but a raging beast, most of the werewolf race inherited his madness. But Lucian was different—he was the first to possess reason and intelligence, making him terrifyingly powerful.

He had just taken four biological grenades head-on. Any normal werewolf would've been dead a dozen times over.Lucian, however, merely awakened the feral power within his body—and recovered instantly.

He glanced toward the escaping pair. For now, he didn't care who had ambushed him earlier. With a single leap, he shot forward, chasing after Selina and Michael.

Selina dragged Michael into the car, slammed her foot on the gas, and sped off at full throttle. But before they could get far, Lucian came bursting out of the building.

As the strongest werewolf alive, even without transforming, his speed was monstrous.Within seconds, he had caught up to their car—Leaping onto the roof and driving his fist-blade straight toward the driver's seat!

In Michael's stunned gaze, the blade pierced through the roof and stabbed Selina in the neck and shoulder. If not for her vampire resilience, she would've died instantly.

But a heroine is still a heroine.Even in panic, she didn't lose her composure—She slammed the brakes, throwing Lucian off the roof, then instantly shifted gears and floored the accelerator. The car shot backward at seventy miles per hour, slamming straight into Lucian and sending him flying.

Even with his monstrous werewolf physique, Lucian was dazed by the impact.By the time he came to his senses, Selina's car had already vanished into the distance.
