Valerian clenched his fist.
"Tsk... How can this happen when I've already developed these strange feelings? How can another woman suddenly appear when I'm already certain of what I feel for the first one?"
The prophecy spoke of only one chosen woman.
Yet Valerian's heart remained certain that Aira was the real one.
His heart had reacted to her in a way he could neither explain nor understand. For the first time in centuries, he had experienced a strange warmth in his chest, accompanied by emotions he had never thought possible.
And now, another woman had appeared.
A woman whose mark supposedly carried the energy of the Lightpool.
The royal mage and everyone else might believe that the second woman, whose name Valerian still didn't know, was the true Woman of the Prophecy.
But why?
Why had he felt nothing when he heard about her?
If she really was the chosen woman, shouldn't he have experienced something similar to what he had felt when he first encountered Aira?
