Chapter 141 - Spy

Fugaku saw that not a single one of the clan heads present stepped forward to oppose his judgment. It seemed that no one would dare to oppose the Uchiha Clan now.

However, before executing Danzō, he still looked at Ryōsuke to seek his opinion.

"Ryōsuke, shall we do it now?"

"Yes, you do it," Ryōsuke agreed immediately.

For a threat like Shimura Danzō who endangered the Uchiha Clan, the sooner they acted, the greater the peace of mind. After all, only the dead could be completely harmless.

Hearing Ryōsuke's words, Fugaku decisively stabbed the kunai in his hand into the comatose and immobile Danzō.

One strike pierced the heart. One strike to kill.

Once the body stopped moving, he felt much more relieved. The village's number one enemy was finally finished. The Uchiha Clan could be considered safe and secure in the Leaf Village now. Even if the Third Hokage still held malice toward them, Fugaku did not think the Third could accomplish much on his own.

The clan heads present felt a mix of complicated emotions as they looked at the lifeless Shimura Danzō.

Danzō naturally deserved his fate. However, the Uchiha Clan was now undeniably the most powerful force in the Leaf Village.

What gave them a slight sense of relief was that after dealing with Danzō, the Uchiha led their people back to their clan grounds. They did not attack the unconscious Third Hokage, nor did they move against the other clans.

Even so, they could not completely set their minds at ease. The situation in the village was now vastly different from before.

Upon returning to the clan, Uchiha Fugaku ordered the patrols around the clan grounds to be strengthened to prevent anyone with ulterior motives from making a move against the Uchiha.

After all, the Uchiha Clan had done something major today by publicly executing a high-ranking official. These other clans might not have reacted yet, but if they united later to launch a surprise attack against the Uchiha, it could be dangerous. Although the Uchiha were not afraid, they needed to bolster their defenses at this time to avoid being caught off guard.

Meanwhile, the Third Hokage had been taken by the Anbu to the hospital for treatment.

By the next day, the news had naturally spread throughout the entire Leaf Village.

The villagers were shocked and astonished when they heard the news. They had not expected Danzō to commit such terrible acts. To think he had transplanted over a dozen eyeballs onto a single arm; ordinary people would never dare to do such a thing.

The fact that he was publicly executed also surprised them greatly, signifying that the Uchiha Clan had risen once again.

Usually, the Konoha Military Police Force was very strict in their law enforcement, and villagers would dare to talk back occasionally. But now, no one dared to even cast a glance at a member of the Uchiha Clan.

Those who had been bribed by Danzō to write complaints against the Police Force were terrified. They wondered what they would do if the Uchiha Clan decided to settle scores later. Every one of them was filled with panic. Some even took the initiative to go to the Police Force headquarters to confess their guilt; after all, if a big shot like Danzō could be killed, they were even more vulnerable.

In the hospital, the Third Hokage finally woke up, his head still spinning.

It took him a long while to recall what had happened. Uchiha Ryōsuke's kick had truly injured him severely. His whole body was in pain, and he was wrapped in bandages.

If he had not undergone endurance training previously and taken quite a bit of damage to build resistance, it likely would have been impossible for him to be kicked unconscious by a single blow.

Although he did not quite want to believe it himself, the opponent's strength was simply too great.

Immediately after waking up, he shouted, "Someone, come here."

The Anbu protecting the Third Hokage outside immediately pushed the door open and entered.

"Lord Hokage, I am here."

Seeing his own Anbu, the Third Hokage relaxed slightly. However, compared to his own injuries, he was more concerned about Danzō's outcome.

"What is the situation with Danzō?"

The Anbu reported truthfully, "Danzō has already been killed by Uchiha Fugaku."

The Third Hokage's expression froze. Dead?

The Uchiha Clan truly had the nerve; they were rampant enough to do such a thing. With Danzō's strength, he really had no way to counter that Uchiha Ryōsuke. The opponent was too strong.

He immediately asked with concern, "Did Danzō say anything before he died?"

This was the issue he was most worried about. If Danzō had leaked anything before dying, it might be his turn next.

The Anbu member shook his head immediately. "He did not."

Hearing this, the Third Hokage relaxed.

That was good. If he was dead, he was dead. As long as he did not implicate the Hokage, the Third had saved his own life.

He then asked, "After I fainted, did the clan heads stand up to stop the Uchiha Clan's atrocity?"

"They did not," the Anbu member answered immediately.

Hearing this answer, the Third Hokage felt angry and disappointed. Although the enemy was strong, was this their attitude? They were truly useless.

later, when inquiring about the details from the Anbu, he learned that Danzō really had stolen the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan and even transplanted over a dozen of them onto his arm. Even he found such a thing extremely disgusting.

He had not expected that fellow to conduct such human experiments with his former student, Orochimaru. It was truly shameful.

He sighed deeply in his heart.

How should he proceed in the future?

The Uchiha Clan was unexpectedly this powerful. Without Danzō's help, he could not compete with them in terms of combat power at all. Even if he brought back his three students, it was unlikely they could deal with that guy.

Honestly, he began to suspect that the opponent might be some old monster who had taken over Uchiha Ryōsuke's body. The opponent was too strong, strong enough to violate the laws of nature.

Should he just obediently hand over power?

He guessed the opponent had not killed him yet because the time was not right. When the time was suitable, he would definitely be driven from power.

Naturally, he was unwilling to accept that.

The important thing now was to figure out why the opponent was so strong. He had undergone endurance training himself, but it seemed to be of no use. Did the opponent hide some secret?

Asking Might Guy was useless. Only by finding this secret was there any hope of turning the tables.

To steal the opponent's secrets, he could only send a spy. A male spy would be useless; he could only send a female spy.

Thinking of this, he said to the Anbu before him, "Go and invite Uzuki Yugao here."

He was not as skilled at spycraft as Danzō, but this was the only method left now.
