Chapter 32 - 82 Performing Ghost Plays

The spider stared speechlessly at the woman in his arms. He felt that just moments before she had been infinitely alluring, exuding a deathly sensuality, but in an instant she had become a common, ordinary woman, devoid of any beauty.

He instinctively pushed away the woman in his arms, who smelled strongly of rouge. Only then did he realize what had happened.

Their gazes met silently, and they both saw the corresponding words in each other's eyes.

Change is coming.

Only through change can patterns be discovered.

The three of them unanimously chose to wait and see.

Lin Fan held the microphone in one hand and his younger sister in the other. He looked at the timid girl who had taken a picture:

"Could you please request another song for us, 'Don't Look Down on Me Because I'm Just a Sheep'?"

Upon hearing Lin Fan's request, Chen Qian instinctively felt a little shy.

I've been working at Buckingham for thirteen days now. Every day I see those "sisters" going to great lengths to please the men and women who come to spend money in order to earn silver coins, and even doing shameful things in the private rooms.

But she still retains the shyness and timidity she has had since childhood.

The boy in front of her, who kept singing nursery rhymes in two different tones, was unlike any of the other guests she had ever met.

He is very respectful of people.

"Oh, right away!" Seeing the sincere smile on the boy's face, she quickly responded, then stretched out her slender fingers and tapped rapidly on the song selection screen.

Knock knock knock!

Knock knock!

She had just found the song when she heard the sounds of gongs and drums coming from outside the private room. Her face paled instantly.

Here we go again!

The image of Lin Fan offering her silver coins and then respectfully taking them back flashed through her mind. She steeled herself and couldn't help but look at Lin Fan: "You, you all, get out of here!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw that the four older sisters sitting on the sofa playing with the spider were all staring straight at her.

"Fool."

"You let them go, are you going to perform for those audience members?"

"Me." Thinking of those audience members, her face turned pale.

"Audience? What audience?" Spider smiled knowingly, ignoring the fact that the girl beside him had become an ordinary woman in his eyes, and casually pulled her into his arms, asking with a laugh.

"The audience is just the audience. You'll see when you see it."

...

"Don't underestimate me just because I'm a sheep..."

Lin Fan hugged his younger sister, held the microphone to her mouth, and sang happily.

On the huge television screen on the wall, several silly sheep were dancing and playing.

They ran across the green meadow, chasing each other with an ugly wolf.

Looking at the screen, Lin Fan suddenly felt a little dazed.

Some strange, hallucinatory, rambling sounds entered my ears. People were talking, near and far, but I couldn't hear what they were saying.

He couldn't help but stop singing, move the microphone away from his sister's mouth to make the room quieter, and then listen attentively with his ear tilted to the side.

Splash, splash.

He couldn't hear anything.

On the smooth television screen, ripples suddenly appeared, like waves on a body of water stirred by the wind.

Then the television disappeared, and a dark wooden stage appeared before his eyes.

It has a classic and antique feel.

He was sitting in the center of a huge audience seating area consisting of tables and benches, below the wooden stage.

On the octagonal table in front of us, some tempting delicacies are neatly arranged, emitting a mouthwatering aroma.

Lin Fan vaguely felt that those "delicacies" were somewhat familiar, but he couldn't remember what those things that looked like gold ingots and candles were.

'Where am I?' He couldn't help but look around.

On the left, the mother, dressed in a white dress, sat demurely, her eyes gazing curiously at the stage in front of her.

On the other side of Mom's side is her kind grandmother.

At this moment, Grandma held a skull as white as jade in her hand. The skull's eyes were pitch black, as if hiding the most intense malice. But in Lin Fan's eyes, the skull possessed a strange and wondrous feeling of sacredness and evil being strangely and perfectly blended.

To his right, his father, Huowang, sat on a long bench, his copper coin mask shimmering with a metallic sheen, his eyes looking around in a daze.

He held a stick of food, which looked like an incense stick, and ate it like a banana, while muttering to himself:

"What is this thing?"

"A dream?"

"Or reality?"

⒏ьoоk. сом

"Or it was something the son saw..."

"It's so chaotic, so chaotic..."

"Xiao Fan, what did you see this time? Or what did you dream about? You dragged me here. You really are... you seem even crazier than me."

"If that doesn't work... you'll have to ask the doctor to increase your dosage..."

Hearing his father's words, Lin Fan couldn't help but twitch his lips. He looked at his second uncle.

My second uncle sat there with a smile on his face. A crack appeared on the back of his left hand, from which a large, scarlet eyeball emerged, looking around with ill intent.

His eyes were filled with disdain and malice.

Besides the family members, each seat was occupied by a dark, indistinct figure.

They resemble people, or perhaps towering, dark memorial tablets. They sit quietly on the long bench.

They seemed to be laughing, yet they also seemed to be making no sound at all.

They just sat there, their eyes, some dark, some fiery red, staring intently at the stage above.

His eyes were full of anticipation.

'Huh?'

Where's my sister?

Lin Fan suddenly realized he couldn't find his younger sister. Just as he was starting to get anxious, he heard her babbling voice:

"Don't underestimate me just because I'm a sheep..."

"The green grass smells even better because of me..."

Her voice, soft and childlike, came from afar.

Lin Fan couldn't help but look in the direction of the voice, and then was surprised to find his younger sister standing in his arms in the center of the dark stage, holding a microphone and singing happily.

A figure dressed in a blood-red theatrical robe stood in a corner of the stage, looking at himself and his sister with a mocking expression.

'How is this possible?!'

Lin Fan's eyes widened instantly!

I was singing on stage while holding my younger sister.

So who is sitting below the stage now?

If I am the one sitting below the stage, then who is the "me" on the stage?

He was puzzled.

He was confused.

His eyes were clouded by a deep sense of confusion.

Then--

His vision blurred, and he found himself holding a microphone, singing with his sister.

"La la la la la la la la la la la..."

He and his sister finished singing a song.

The television screen that had just disappeared returned to showing lambs running on the pasture.

It was as if the stage he had just seen, and his family sitting in the best center position in the audience, were hallucinations he had experienced during his mental breakdown while singing.

At that moment, some sounds flashed by as if on fast forward.

"Hurry up..."

"You let them go, are you going to perform for those audience members?"

"The audience is just the audience. You'll see when you see it."

"..."

That was what the girls said just now after Chen Qian told him to leave quickly.

'The audience?' Lin Fan felt a slight tension in his back, and an indescribable sense of unease arose in his heart.

'What a coincidence?'

Just as he was wondering, the girl in yoga pants in the spider's arms suddenly burst into maniacal laughter.

"Hahahaha..."

"It's starting again. The death show, the ghost opera..."

"here we go."

"We all have to die, we all have to die..."

She cried in anguish, her face soon streaked with tears.

At the same time, Lin Fan noticed that the girl who was requesting a song nearby suddenly trembled and turned to look at the largest TV in the room.

On the television screen, a sinister stage appeared.
