Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 The House of the Dead

Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Kushina were currently in the living room.

Minato Namikaze recounted the things he had seen and heard during this period, while Uzumaki Kushina listened intently.

When Minato Namikaze mentioned Shindai, Uzumaki Kushina couldn't help but exclaim, "Is there really such a stupid kid? He sounds even dumber than Obito."

Minato Namikaze thought for a moment before saying, "Dumb? I don't think Shindai is dumb; he just isn't good at disguising himself. According to Souichi, this child never goes out and doesn't interact with people much.

So Shindai has no experience as an infiltrator, and because he doesn't communicate with others, he doesn't even know what expression to use when responding.

Therefore, all the expressions Shindai used when trying to lie looked very stiff, and it was obvious at a glance if he was telling a falsehood.

The most important thing is that this child is resisting becoming an infiltrator and resisting fighting from the bottom of his heart, so even if we hadn't discovered his identity at first, he would have exposed himself sooner or later."

Uzumaki Kushina asked with some curiosity, "How come you seem to know this child so well, Minato?"

Minato Namikaze said helplessly, "It's not that I want to understand Shindai, but Shindai is just too easy to understand; he can't hide anything."

Uzumaki Kushina burst into laughter, disregarding her image: "Hearing you say that, Minato, that kid sounds so interesting. I suddenly want to meet him."

Minato Namikaze also curled his lips and smiled, saying, "He is indeed very interesting. I've already had him join my team. I hope he can recognize Konoha and join Konoha. Once he joins Konoha, I'll bring him to see you. Right now, because he's still an infiltrator, he can't come to see you."

Uzumaki Kushina cheered on Minato Namikaze, "Okay, then you go for it, Minato! Try to get that interesting kid to join Konoha."

"I will try my best." Minato Namikaze stood up and said, "Alright, it's getting late, so I'll head back first. Tomorrow morning, I still have to rush to the Land of Hot Water, and Shindai is currently staying at my house, so I'm a bit worried. I'll come to see you next time I'm back in Konoha."

Uzumaki Kushina felt a bit reluctant to hear that Minato Namikaze was leaving, but she still bid him farewell.

Minato Namikaze left the building where Uzumaki Kushina was staying and walked towards his home.

However, for some reason, Minato Namikaze's right eyelid was twitching non-stop.

...

At Minato Namikaze's house.

"Huh? Why are there so many extra screws and parts? This shouldn't be happening. I clearly put it back together exactly how I took it apart."

Shindai looked at the screws and parts on the ground and fell into contemplation.

Shindai had not only disassembled Minato Namikaze's television, but it could be said that any appliance that could be disassembled had been taken apart by Shindai.

Shindai was greatly amazed by these appliances.

In Hidden Sand Village, there were basically no appliances, giving a feeling of living in a primitive society.

But in Minato Namikaze's house, by disassembling these appliances, Shindai felt as if he had suddenly arrived in a modern society.

However, because all the parts were mixed together, Shindai couldn't tell which was which, putting whatever he saw wherever. Now there were super many screws and parts piled up, leaving Shindai completely bewildered.

Just then, Shindai heard the sound of the door opening.

Shindai secretly thought, 'Oh no,' and quickly tried to hide the screws and parts on the ground.

But it was still too late; Minato Namikaze had already entered.

Shindai immediately stood in front of the pile of parts, trying to block Minato Namikaze's view.

Shindai said with a dry laugh, "Lord Minato, why are you here?"

Minato Namikaze was stumped by Shindai's question: "Because... this is my home, isn't it?"

Shindai's face stiffened. Minato Namikaze seemed to have a point.

And there was one more thing.

Given Shindai's height and build, he couldn't block it at all; Minato Namikaze had already seen it.

Minato Namikaze pointed at the parts behind Shindai and asked, "What are these?"

A few beads of sweat appeared on Shindai's forehead: "Th-these are... Oh, right, these are the trash I swept out. How could I live in Lord Minato's house for free? So I saw that Lord Minato's house was a bit dirty, so I helped clean up a bit, and I didn't expect to sweep out such a huge pile of trash."

Minato Namikaze walked forward and picked up an antenna from the pile of parts: "How come this looks a bit like the antenna from my radio?"

Shindai tried to mislead him: "Lord Minato, you must be mistaken. This is clearly for picking teeth!"

Minato Namikaze frowned: "Who would use something so thick to pick teeth? This must be an antenna..."

Minato Namikaze suddenly trembled and immediately walked to the cabinet, picking up his radio.

The antenna was gone, and the weight was off; it was much lighter.

Then Minato Namikaze immediately ran to the television and picked up the remote, trying to turn on the TV.

But of course, it was impossible to turn on.

Minato Namikaze tried all the appliances in the house, and without exception, none of them worked.

So who was the culprit?

Minato Namikaze looked with dead fish eyes at Shindai, who was now lying on the sofa, feigning sleep.

Who else could it be but this kid?

Minato Namikaze looked at the parts on the ground with a pang of heartache.

These appliances were all things he had acquired one by one with the rewards from his missions; he had an emotional connection to them.

For example, that radio was bought with the reward he received from his first mission as a Ninja.

For example, that television was bought after he saved money for half a year, gritting his teeth.

Now... after just a few hours out, they were all gone!

Shindai, feigning sleep, opened his eyes slightly and secretly looked at Minato Namikaze.

Seeing Minato Namikaze's slightly unpleasant expression, Shindai immediately closed his eyes again. He should have sorted the parts when he disassembled them.

Minato Namikaze sighed.

Never mind. Anyway, he wouldn't be using these appliances now. He was leaving Konoha tomorrow to carry out a mission. So, if they were disassembled, then so be it. Besides, they weren't broken; they might still work once these parts were put back together.

However, Minato Namikaze secretly swore in his heart that if Shindai ever came to his house again, he would absolutely not let Shindai be alone at home.

He was so capable of dismantling things that Minato Namikaze worried that if he didn't keep an eye on Shindai, his own house might eventually be dismantled too.

Minato Namikaze said to Shindai, "Stop pretending to sleep. Go to the guest bedroom and sleep. I'll tidy up the bed for you; it won't take long."

Shindai stopped pretending and opened his eyes. He had disassembled all of Minato Namikaze's appliances, but Minato Namikaze hadn't said a word to him, which made Shindai feel very embarrassed.

Shindai scratched his head and apologized to Minato Namikaze, "I'm sorry, Lord Minato. I just wanted to see what was inside. I can definitely put them back together for you."

Minato Namikaze quickly stopped him: "No, no need. It's not a big problem. Alright, come with me to the guest bedroom."

Minato Namikaze was worried that if Shindai messed with them again, what could have been usable after reassembly might just be completely ruined.
