The drama didn't stop at Greystone.
Station One had its share of stories too.
Tara had left Jarom's mother in charge of the kitchen, while her son, Jarom, managed the outpost.
The outpost occupied the manor's outer grounds, serving as the main checkpoint for caravans traveling to Greystone. Inspections, fee collections, and receipt records were handled by Jarom under Tara's supervision. He had passed his training with flying colors.
Mother and Son
And yet, Mother and Son had a spat.
They differed in how they wanted things done. Though their duties were separate, Jarom's mother couldn't help but interfere in her son's work—work Tara had personally trained him for.
"Mother's instinct," she argued. "And I'm older than you, so listen to me."
"Mother, please," Jarom pleaded. "I can do this on my own. Mistress Tara trained me well. Trust me."
By dinnertime, they reached a truce. They would focus on their own tasks and let the results speak for themselves.
