The warm morning light crept through the curtains of the floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the room, and onto the bed sheets.
On the bed, Levi slowly blinked his sleepy eyes. His body struggled as it felt hard to get up with little effort, as his body kept sinking into the mattress.
He just laid there, watching the dust particles drift through the sun beams, feeling the luxury of waking up without having to catalogue where he was.
'Soft civilian life' Levi stretched his hands and legs until his joints popped. The sound brought a satisfied sigh from his mouth.
'Getting used to this faster than expected.'
His throat was dry and scratchy that it demanded immediate attention. Rolling out of bed, he padded towards the door in his borrowed sleep clothes that hung loose on his frame.
When he opened the door, he paused to watch the huge figure stepping out of the other room.
