Chapter 219 - Chapter 213: Legacy Treasure of the Blue Star Sect

Chapter 213: Legacy Treasure of the Blue Star Sect

Elton, Erica, and Christy stood frozen in disbelief at the booming voice's revelation. None of them expected to suddenly hear such deep lore about the Blue Star Sect.

"What exactly do you mean by a legacy treasure? And from another world outside of Terraplane?" Elton asked, his brows knitting in confusion.

"What do I mean? Exactly as I said, boy! This is a great legacy treasure from another world. Don't confuse it with the toys and trinkets of this lower world's so-called treasures. Hehehe, those fools in the middle continents scrambled over this relic, and because of it, this so-called sect met its end. Bwahahaha! They wouldn't listen to that man, and now look what became of them. Still, fate has a funny sense of humor—it seems it was a good thing after all, since you have arrived, the true chosen one."

The voice carried a mix of amusement and pity that unsettled all three of them.

"Y-Your Excellency, could it be that you're a great elder hidden away to protect the sect?" Christy asked cautiously, trying to steady her nerves.

"Haah? A great elder? Don't lump me in with those relics. Hmph. Think of me instead as the sect's treasured guardian spirit."

"A guardian spirit…" Christy murmured, both awed and puzzled.

Erica spoke next, her tone respectful but uncertain. "If I may be so bold, Your Excellency, where exactly are you?"

"Well, I'm on the altar of course! Now, boy—come here and receive this legacy already!"

The voice rumbled through the entire chamber, shaking the trio once more.

Elton hesitated before stepping forward, every movement cautious. His eyes swept across the vast, ancient hall—its sheer presence was overwhelming. Though he'd grown in strength and maturity, he was still a young man not yet twenty, and before such power, that truth became clear.

He ascended the steps to the altar one at a time, each step heavier than the last, until he reached the top. There, a glowing orb—three times the size of a human head—hovered within a stone cradle. Inside it was a miniature world: a sprawling town of tall buildings, many resembling the ruins they'd just passed. The largest structure mirrored the very temple they now stood in.

Perched atop the orb was a short, yet brawny cat-like being. Its features were strangely cartoonish—round eyes, plush fur, and a confident grin. It radiated a pressure so immense that it felt out of place for such a creature.

"Your Excellency?" Elton asked carefully.

"Yes, yes, that's me. Hmm, judging by your face, you're wondering about my appearance, aren't you? Best not to judge."

"I wouldn't dare judge a book by its cover, but… what exactly are you?"

The little creature chuckled with a toothy smirk. "Oh, that's what you mean. To put it simply, I'm the guardian spirit now, but before this, I had a body—a big one. My original race was from the Mobion Cougar Clan. For you humans, think of it this way: I'm a branch of the Mobions, just as there are different races among your kind."

Below, Christy and Erica stood at the base of the altar, listening closely, their curiosity growing by the second.

"Mobion Cougar Clan… Interesting. What is it that I should do?" Elton asked.

"Simple! Place your hands on the orb and pour every bit of your essence into it with all attributes at once. I'll handle the rest."

Elton nodded and placed both hands upon the glowing sphere. Immediately, his mixed powers surged forth with Nature Magic, White Lightning Ki and Magic, White Flame Magic, Blood Ki, and Sword Ki. The combined force erupted like a storm, shaking the hall with thunderous might.

Erica and Christy gasped from below as the energy surged around him. A brilliant barrier suddenly enveloped the staircase, stopping them from climbing any further as they watched in anxious silence.

Elton grunted as the power drained from his body into the glowing orb. The Guardian Spirit suddenly blinked, his expression shifting as though a forgotten memory had struck him.

"Ah, yes! By the way, boy, once you finish taking control of this Legacy Treasure, the sacred boundary hiding it from the neighboring domain will collapse completely. That'll expose this place's location—so expect company soon. The creatures in that domain will almost certainly invade. On the bright side, they aren't nearly as troublesome as what's coming later. I've foreseen it—a full-scale demon army invasion! Hehehe. Fortunately for you, the demons will have their hands full fighting those same neighbors first. You'll have a small window to prepare."

Elton's body trembled from the pressure of the energy flow, irritation rising along with it. "Why the hell didn't you mention all of this beforehand!?"

"Oops, my apologies, boy. Hahaha! You'll be fine… probably." The Guardian Spirit's innocent tone only made it sound more mocking.

The orb's light flared violently, swallowing the vast room in a flood of radiant brilliance and intricate magical encryptions. Outside, the main building erupted in blinding symbols, magical lines spreading like luminous tentacles that reached across the ruined complex. Each thread pulsed with runes, connecting shattered structures, mending them, and extending even to the domed sky above.

The ground quaked as vibrations burst outward, shaking the entire region. Essence beasts fled in a frenzy from the epicenter, vanishing into the wilderness. One by one, the ruined buildings at the heart of the ancient city disintegrated into pure light and reformed as they were restored to their long-lost splendor.

Nearly an hour passed before the storm of light and energy finally subsided. The great chamber dimmed, leaving only the orb's core aglow with eight radiant lights although the eighth shimmered faintly, weaker than the rest. The altar itself had changed, surrounded by eight newly etched magic circles that pulsed in rhythm with those lights.

From Elton's robe, Shayleaf's doll suddenly sprang to life, her gem-like eyes sparkling.

"W-Wow! Brother Elly, what did you do?! No, never mind that! I can feel our Fanged Elf Royal Magic flowing everywhere in this place! I think I can even summon myself and our armies here through this doll!"

"Hmm? Oh, one of the Elf folk, eh?" The Guardian Spirit grinned. "Hehe, looks like you've discovered one of the treasure's special properties already! Though don't get too excited. You won't be able to wield this treasure's true might until you reach the Grand Master Realm."

"Ehh!? Who's this guy!?" Shayleaf's doll exclaimed, pointing at him dramatically.

Before anyone could answer, a deafening crack echoed through the world, followed by a shattering roar that sounded like glass breaking across the heavens and then silence.

"The protection domain has fallen," the Guardian Spirit said calmly. "You'd best prepare your next moves. Ah, Elton, before I forget let me grant you the information you can handle for now."

The spirit's form shimmered and appeared before Elton as a phantom silhouette. He raised one finger to Elton's brow, and a piercing beam of light shot into his mind. Elton gritted his teeth as pain and knowledge fused together in a surge of power.

"Gege!"

"El Onyem!"

"How dare you hurt Brother Elly!"

Christy, Erica, and Shayleaf's doll instantly moved to shield him, glaring at the Guardian Spirit. He only shrugged.

"I'm fine, ladies." Elton's voice steadied as his breathing slowed. His eyes glowed faintly with clarity. "Hmm… I understand now. Things are becoming clearer."

He turned to Shayleaf's doll, his gaze sharp and resolute. "Shay, I need your help with something."
