Yuto's voice carried the resolve of a desperate stand.
He glanced at his only card left in hand—[MS-06 Zaku II].
'Please, Deck! Give me the key to turn this around! A card to replenish my hand!'
His fingertip slid across the back of a card—the one he drew shone with the light of hope!
"Yes!"
Yuto's spirit surged.
"First, stabilize the field! I Summon—[MS-06 Zaku II]!"
A steel giant in signature green paint thundered onto the battlefield with mechanical roars, machine gun in hand, exuding the rugged aura of a mass-production unit.
"Yet that's not enough!"
His eyes flashed as he played the spell that would reverse everything.
"Spell Card activate—[Card of Sanctity]! Let Lady Luck bless us! Both players draw until they have 6 cards in their hand!!!"
FWOOOSH—!
Countless golden cards cascaded from the sky like a waterfall!
Yuto drew a full six fresh cards! A hand brimming with possibility!
Stronger than [Pot of Greed] by far!
Joy surged in his heart—the resource gap was instantly erased!
The counterattack began!
"Next, I activate Spell Card—[Glory of Loum]!"
A card depicting the vast battlefield of space slammed onto the field.
The Duel Arena transformed into a starry void, warships locked in furious combat in the background.
"Its effect: until the end of my next turn, whenever a monster is sent to the Graveyard, all monsters on my field gain 300 Attack!"
"And now!"
Yuto raised the legendary crimson card.
"I activate [ACE – Char the Red Comet]'s Special Summon effect! I Tribute [MS-06 Zaku II] on my field—descend, Red Comet!"
BOOM!
The green Zaku dissolved into particles. A blazing red meteor tore through space and crashed down!
From the smoke rose a sleeker, crimson-painted Zaku, gripping a massive bazooka with fiery menace!
[ACE – Char the Red Comet] had arrived!
"Effect activate! Since it was Special Summoned by Tributing [MS-06 Zaku II], its Attack and Defense increase by that monster's original stats! Its Attack rises to 2600!"
"And!"
Yuto pointed sharply at the fading green Zaku.
"Chain Trigger! Because [MS-06 Zaku II] was Tributed and sent to the Graveyard, [Glory of Loum] activates! All my monsters gain 300 Attack!"
VMMM—!
The crimson Zaku burst with an even brighter glow, energy coursing around its frame!
Beside it, the [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle] roared in response, its engine howling higher!
[ACE – Char the Red Comet, ATK: 2600 → 2900]
[Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle, ATK: 300 → 600]
"Now I trigger [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle]'s effect! Whenever its Attack or Defense changes, that change doubles! So instead of +300, it gains +600!"
RUMBLE!
The vehicle quaked violently, cannons spinning as power surged!
[Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle, ATK: 300 → 900]
"And I'm not done yet!"
Yuto jabbed at his Duel Disk.
"Spell Card activate—[Missile Mounting]! I equip it to [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle]!"
Missile racks snapped onto its frame.
"Equipped monster gains 500 Attack! Then, [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle]'s effect doubles that increase! So instead of +500, it gains +1000!"
VRRRRMMM—!
The vehicle roared, its hull shaking with explosive firepower!
[Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle, ATK: 900 → 1900]
"I Set one card face-down! Now—Red Comet, target [Tiger Axe]! Attack—Bazooka Shot!"
The crimson Zaku's bazooka spat fire!
A high-explosive rocket shrieked across the field, slamming into [Tiger Axe]!
KABOOOM—!!!
The explosion engulfed the beast-warrior in flames and smoke! Yet the expected Life Point loss never came.
Instead, alarms blared on Yuto's side—his Life Points plummeted!
[Yuto, LP: 2000 → 1000]
"What?!" Yuto's eyes widened.
"Hah! Did you think I'd be defenseless?!"
Joey shouted.
"Trap Card activate—[Magic Arm Shield]!!!"
As the smoke cleared, two massive spectral arms clamped down on Yuto's [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle]!
They had redirected Char's bazooka strike straight into Yuto himself via his own vehicle!
"Fine… still, don't forget my [Glory of Loum]! Since [Vulcan-Cannon Armored Vehicle] was destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, all my monsters gain 300 Attack!"
[ACE – Char the Red Comet, ATK: 2900 → 3200]
"And since [ACE – Char the Red Comet] was Special Summoned by Tributing a monster, it can attack three times per turn! Attack again—[Tiger Axe]!"
"It won't work!"
Joey roared defiantly, his eyes flashing with reckless fire as he slammed his hand down.
"Trap Card activate—[Graverobber]!"
His last Set card flipped open.
"Its effect lets me take a Spell from your Graveyard and activate it as my own! I choose—"
He jabbed at a card glowing with fierce energy in Yuto's Graveyard.
"[Blustering Winds]!!!"
FWOOOSH!!
A savage gale swept across Joey's field, the stolen power pouring into [Tiger Axe]!
The beast-warrior's muscles bulged, veins throbbing, eyes burning crimson with berserker fury!
[Tiger Axe, ATK: 1300 → 2300]
KABOOOM—!!!!
The second bazooka blast smashed into the powered-up Tiger Axe!
The explosion shook the arena, flames hot enough to melt steel erupting skyward!
Yet the surge of strength let Tiger Axe absorb the brunt of the devastation!
[Joey, LP: 1500 → 600]
Joey staggered but grinned fiercely, eyes blazing with defiance.
He had survived!
