Cecilia ignored Blair's shrill voice behind her and went straight upstairs.
The bedroom door was slightly ajar. She pushed it open gently.
The room was completely dark. As she reached for the light switch on the wall, she softly called his name.
"Blaze… wh—"
Before she could finish, strong arms emerged from the darkness and pulled her back against the wall. The sudden movement pressed against the switch, and the lights flickered on.
She barely had time to react when Blaze lowered his head and captured her lips.
His kiss was warm and intoxicating, tasting lightly of wine. For a moment, Cecilia forgot how to breathe. Her mind went blank as his lips moved against hers—gentle at first, then slowly deepening with unmistakable longing. Instinctively, she parted her lips, responding to him without thought.
Her fingertips trembled as she rested them against his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart beneath her palm.
When she accidentally nipped his lip, he let out a low sound.
