Cecilia and Blaze had known each other for so many years that their teamwork was almost instinctive. They seemed to anticipate each other's thoughts effortlessly.
"What's going on? Did something happen at GIN Company?" Cecilia asked.
"No, I just… I went there a few days ago to check some records," Henry said, improvising a casual excuse. When he noticed she was about to get back to work, he ended the call quickly.
But with his years of experience as a detective, Henry could tell Cecilia was hiding something. She was probably only revealing the tip of the iceberg, and someone was watching her from the shadows.
Concerned, Henry called Blaze immediately. "Has Cecilia been acting differently lately?"
Blaze paused mid-typing. "What happened?"
"I suspect… I'm just suspicious, but I think someone might be threatening her. Nothing obvious yet, but it's worth paying attention to."
"Did she tell you anything?" Blaze asked.
