It had been a while since Cecilia last saw Adrian.
He'd cut his hair—short, chestnut brown—and it made his clean, refined features stand out even more. His slightly curved eyes still carried that gentle warmth that Cecilia remembered so well. She couldn't help but smile as she greeted him.
"Have a seat," Adrian said softly, setting out a cup for her and signaling the waiter to pour tea. "Marylin went to the restroom. By the way… how have you been since that day at the hospital? If there's anything I can do, don't hesitate to ask."
He was referring to the day Cecilia had gone to visit Peter Spark at the hospital. She hadn't even managed to say goodbye before Blaze had forcefully taken her away.
"Thank you for that day," Cecilia replied with a faint, embarrassed smile. "It's nothing serious… I just had a fight with my father."
Adrian could tell it was a family matter, so he didn't pry. Instead, he smoothly changed the topic. "The sashimi here is quite good. Do you like raw fish?"
