Shalani'er, that was the name Maiev gave to the wooden cabin.
Gale and Maiev were temporarily staying there. Malorne, unable to help much, had already bid farewell. He was the guardian god of the wilderness and couldn't spend all his time with Gale.
After a few days of tenderness with Maiev, Gale opened a portal to Gale's Tower.
Maiev entered the portal and quickly returned with the items Gale needed.
The Shadra Orb, containing Shadra's most essential Shadow Divine Power, could serve as the energy source for the Reaver's Scythe.
Hakkar's Bone, carrying Soul Divine Power, could be used to cast powerful soul spells.
Nash's Fang, with its Frost Divine Power, could be used as a vessel for Soul Divine Power.
There was also a large amount of nether iron, which Gale needed to connect the three materials above.
Sethonis followed and rushed over, saying to Gale with concern, "You're combining the divine powers of three loa; won't something go wrong?"
Gale knew what he was worried about and explained softly, "There won't be a problem this time. I've simulated it over a hundred times and I'm very confident."
"Then let me help you!"
Sethonis saw that Gale's spirit was still weak, and his energy was certainly not what it used to be. Although his strength was not comparable to Metri's, the two had experimented together for three or four years, and Sethonis understood Gale's habits best.
"Good!"
Gale nodded with a smile; he indeed needed a capable assistant.
However, Sethonis's current strength was insufficient. So, he took out the eternal holy grail. "You need to first be promoted to Archmage before you can help me."
Sethonis was stunned for a moment, then laughed, "It seems you're not so firm after all!"
Gale teased himself, "Who told me I needed help now!"
The two joked for a few sentences, then Gale used the Arcane Energy from the eternal holy grail to slowly permeate Sethonis's body. Sethonis had already practiced according to Gale's meridian theory for three years, and his body already had some points where Arcane Energy could be stored. What Gale needed to do was to enlarge and stabilize these acupoints, and then infuse them with more Arcane Energy.
When Sethonis opened his eyes again, he already felt his own power. Just eight acupoints had made him an Archmage. How powerful, then, would Gale be with thirty-six acupoints?
Gale: "In the future, you still need to continue expanding your acupoints, and your strength will slowly increase."
"Even with more, I won't catch up to you. For me, this is enough!" Sethonis was content; he also knew his talent in Arcane was limited.
"From now on, I will specialize in Enchanting and Engineering. You were right, I do have a talent for it; I just didn't want to admit it before!"
Being promoted to Archmage was Sethonis's inner demon, and now that his wish was fulfilled, Sethonis also felt liberated. Now he could face his shortcomings, and it wasn't too late.
Gale smiled helplessly. If he had known that this was all it took to get Sethonis on the right path, he would have helped Sethonis get promoted much earlier.
This was a case of 'having a mind to plant flowers, but they don't bloom; having no mind to plant willows, but they grow into shade.'
Sethonis was full of drive, "Come on! Where do we start?"
"First, build a magical furnace." Gale handed the eternal holy grail to Sethonis.
Sethonis took it and carefully examined the runes on it.
He said enviously, "I was truly blinded by Arcane before. If I had followed you earlier to learn how to make weapons, perhaps I could have made a holy grail for myself too."
Gale chuckled, "It's not too late for you to make one now. The most crucial part of the holy grail isn't its essence, but that it can transport water from the Well of Eternity."
Sethonis shrugged, "That's why I'm sighing; I don't need it anymore."
The stone well in Gale's Tower contained a large amount of Well of Eternity water. If he needed it, he could simply take it directly from the stone well; there was no need to use the holy grail to "transport" it.
He walked out of the house, activated the holy grail, and used Arcane to melt the nearby stones and earth into a furnace, then ignited it with Arcane.
Gale pointed his hand, and pieces of nether iron flew into the magical furnace for smelting.
Sethonis sighed. Even in his current state, Gale could still display micro-management skills that he himself could never achieve in his lifetime, widening the gap between them.
"Both Archmage, how can the difference be so great!"
"Practice makes perfect, this requires a lot of practice," Gale said.
Sethonis glanced at him, "You say it so easily. Just that one move of yours would take me a hundred years to practice. And after a hundred years, how strong will you be then?"
"So, you need to work hard!"
…
As they spoke, the nether iron melted into molten iron.
Gale waved his hand, and the Shadra Orb, Hakkar's Bone, and Nash's Fang flew out of the house.
Sethonis immediately cast Move Object, transferring the molten nether iron from the magical furnace to Gale's front. Liquids are different from solids; moving a liquid according to your will requires powerful micro-management or powerful strength. Sethonis's micro-management was not good, so he had to be promoted to Archmage to complete this operation.
Gale took over the molten nether iron, integrated Hakkar's Bone into it, solidifying it into an iron rod. Then he integrated Nash's Fang, shaping it into a scythe. Finally, he integrated the Shadra Orb, connecting the iron rod and the scythe.
The scythe was made.
What followed was the most important part.
Sethonis extracted all the Arcane Energy from the eternal holy grail, enveloping the scythe to prevent the molten nether iron from solidifying.
Gale took a slight breath, then carved a large number of runes onto it.
"Done!"
As Gale's voice fell, Sethonis quickly allowed the scythe to solidify and infused all the remaining Arcane Energy into it.
"Swish!"
A surge of soul power shot into the sky, hitting the barrier set by Maiev, attempting to break through.
Outside the barrier, Maiev immediately strengthened it. Only after that soul power receded did she enter the barrier.
Sethonis placed the scythe on the stand, and Maiev knelt down, praying to Elune.
However, after a long time, not even a single ray of moonlight descended.
Maiev opened her eyes in frustration, shaking her head gently at Gale.
Gale smiled faintly, "It's alright, it's not your fault."
He picked up the Reaver's Scythe, "Even without Elune's blessing, I can resolve the curse."
After speaking, he raised the Reaver's Scythe high, infusing all the Holy Light within him into it. The Holy Light exploded in an instant, cleansing Gale's body and soul.
Curse Dispelling!
This was how Gale had discovered to use Holy Light, based on in-game skills. Unfortunately, the Holy Light within him was too little, only enough to temporarily suppress the curse, and the suppression time was very short, only one month.
However, this one month was enough for Gale to do many things.
Fully recovered, Gale adjusted to his body and said with a smile to Maiev, "Let's go, let's go to Andorhal. I really am an irresponsible lord."
