Chapter 8 - Lockridge Family 1

The bodies of the two monsters began to turn into particles just like what happened with the previous monster before.

Raven did not care about it but focused his eyes on the screen that floated in front of him.

[First-class monster killed!]

[Experience gained!]

[First-class monster killed!]

[Experience gained!]

"Hmmm, my level didn't rise, it seems the experience requirements have been increased after each level."

Raven closed the screens that were floating in front of him and shrugged his shoulders indifferently.

"This is expected, otherwise things would be easier than they already are."

And while he wanted to take a step forward, he felt that the world was spinning around him in a strange way and he could not move forward.

His vision started to darken little by little until he could not see anything at all.

And once again, he felt that strange sensation, as if he was floating in the ocean, just like when he was transferred to this place.

'What the hell is happening?.'

And Raven did not remain confused for long, as he began to see light again in his eyes.

And when he regained his focus, he found that he was no longer in the barren forest he was in moments ago.

Instead, he was lying on his cheek, feeling the coldness and dampness of the ground.

The raindrops falling from the sky, and the polluted air filled with car smoke, made him realize that he had returned to his city once again.

He got up from the ground with difficulty, as he was standing and fighting with all his strength just a few moments ago.

And now, he was crawling slowly to reach the wall and lean on it to catch his breath.

"Sigh, and I was wondering how my body could move so lightly even though I was suffering from injuries because of those bastards, and I haven't eaten anything for two days."

Raindrops fell on him from the sky and slid along his hair, falling to the ground one after another.

Raven realized that he was currently in an alley near Drago's place, about two kilometers away, as he recognized this place because he had seen it before.

"Maybe because of the adrenaline rush I was able to fight those monsters and forgot my hunger and injuries, luckily I got out at that moment, otherwise, who knows, I might have been dead if I had faced another monster, hahahaha."

Raven grabbed his hair and pulled it back while laughing loudly, making passersby look at him as if he were crazy.

But he didn't care, he tried to get up from the ground and found that his legs were trembling and couldn't carry him.

But he gritted his teeth and stood up, swaying slightly from side to side.

"I need to eat something, my stomach is killing me from pain."

Grgrgrgr!.

He put his right hand on his stomach that was growling from hunger as if he wanted to silence it and began to walk forward with stumbling steps.

And when he finally got out of the alley, he saw that the rain had stopped and the clouds had cleared in the sky, revealing the sun that had been hiding behind them, casting its rays on this city.

And for Raven, who was walking on the street, the passersby avoided him instinctively, as if he were something dirty they shouldn't come near.

And his torn clothes in different parts, the dirt gathered on his body, his messy hair, and his smell from the sweat due to the effort he had exerted in running and fighting, only made things worse.

And despite that, the smile almost never left his face.

Suddenly he stopped in his place because he saw at the corner of his eye a bakery displaying its products outside under a large canopy.

So he quickly approached it, took a medium-sized piece of bread, and ran away from the place with all the strength he had.

"You damn thief?! Stop right there!"

Raven ignored the angry shouts of the shop owner and kept running until the shop owner gave up.

"Hah, hah, this old man has stamina that doesn't match his age, he kept chasing me for more than half an hour, it's just a piece of bread you bastard."

Raven's chest was rising and falling quickly as he tried to calm his irregular breathing while sitting on a bench in the middle of a large park.

"You need to train, you idiot, an old man almost caught you."

"Phew, this is the first time I actually agree with you, mor."

Raven nodded his head and focused now on the piece of bread in his hand.

And although it was just an ordinary piece of bread, because of the hunger he was suffering from, Raven saw it now as the most delicious meal ever.

He took a bite from it happily, tasting the soft bread, which at that moment tasted like honey.

"Mmmmm, this bread is really delicious, that old man's shop must be very famous."

And while Raven was enjoying the food in his mouth, he saw a small bird standing in front of him, looking at the piece of bread in his hands.

Raven stopped taking another bite and looked at the loaf, which was now only half left.

"You idiot, don't do what I think you're about to do."

Raven ignored mor's words, took a small piece of bread, and threw it to the bird.

The small bird swooped down, took the piece, and flew away as if it didn't want its food to be stolen from it.

Raven watched this scene with a faint smile on his face.

"He must have been very hungry."

"Yeah, just like you, idiot, you got this food with difficulty and you're giving it away easily."

Raven ate what was left of the bread and stood up from the bench, feeling a bit refreshed.

"Well, should I go to Drago's place to find out what happened after I disappeared?"

"Maybe Drago has already been arrested."

"And that's what I'll find out if I go to his place."

Raven left the park, intending to head to Drago's place.

However, several black cars blocked the road he wanted to take.

"What's happening?"

More than ten black cars were standing still in the street, completely blocking the traffic.

And among them, there was one car that stood out from the rest; when Raven saw it, he immediately knew the reason for this gathering.

"Wait, isn't that the car I stole last night?"

He said those words to himself in a low voice so that no one would notice him, and when he saw the distinctive license plate number, his suspicions were immediately confirmed.

Tak! Tak! Tak! Tak! Tak!.

In just a few moments, dozens of people got out of the cars and blocked the road.

They lined up on both sides, creating a passage a person could walk through, and kept everyone else away.

And ironically, the passage they created pointed directly at Raven, so he knew that these people were here for him.

"Hahaha, flashy enough for the Lockridge family."
