Chapter 116 - The Dead Are Not Worthy of a Name!

"Heh…"

Yan Hai let out a cold laugh. "Haven't you heard the saying 'a man without guilt but guilty for what he holds'? If not for the Extreme Martial Hall's reputation, you'd already be corpses."

"Hand over the Moya Crystal obediently, and I'll spare your lives."

"What's the point of talking? Kill them!"

The other being beyond the War God level, Nehru, sounded impatient. His eyes shimmered with prismatic light as a strange metallic shard floated into view. "Perfect time to test the power of my new weapon!"

Since the battle over the Moya Crystal began, not just War Gods—three beings beyond War God level had already perished.

Did laws matter anymore? Before absolute profit, all rules lost meaning.

Facing the two transcendent powerhouses, Wang Tong knew this was a hopeless fight.

He exchanged a glance with Li Kan and smiled calmly. "Old Li, looks like we'll be taking that final trip together after all."

"I'm starting to miss Inspector Jiang already," Li Kan said with a bitter laugh.

Last time, when the armored dragon chased them across ten streets, Jiang Li had returned just in time to save them from certain death.

Now—

In this inescapable situation, Li Kan couldn't help thinking of his superior, the Extreme Martial Hall's representative on this continent. Of all the senior members, only Jiang Li was still in Australia.

Unfortunately—

Nehru had already launched the metallic shard like a beam of light toward them. Though only a First-Rank Planet-level psychic, he was still overwhelmingly stronger than Wang Tong, even as a top-tier War God.

"Ninefold Thunder Blade!"

Wang Tong roared, pouring every ounce of strength into his strike. His battle blade flashed like lightning as it cleaved toward the metallic shard.

Clang!

The SS-grade blade, supposedly indestructible, shattered the instant it touched the shard, as fragile as paper. The crimson glimmer streaked forward—like death itself—shooting straight for Wang Tong's forehead!

In that fleeting instant—

Wang Tong thought he saw a familiar figure appear out of thin air.

He'd heard when he was young that, before dying, a man might see the person he most longed to see.

"But…?"

"The one I most want to see…"

"How could it possibly be Jiang Li!!!"

"What's wrong?"

"You don't want to see me?"

The vision solidified—Jiang Li's figure appeared as if descending from the heavens, like a deity manifesting. Under the suppression of his psychic force, the metallic shard that had pierced Wang Tong's blade halted half a meter from his brow.

"Jiang Li!!!"

"Split up and run!"

Yan Hai's eyes nearly popped out of his skull when he saw Jiang Li.If he hadn't been certain that all Planet-level experts from the Extreme Martial and Thunderbolt Halls had left Australia, he'd never have dared come scavenging.

But now—What you fear most always comes to you.

In that instant, Yan Hai didn't dare linger. His body turned into a blur and shot off in retreat.

Nehru, however, hesitated.

That strange metallic shard was still hovering in midair. Though he tried to recall it with his psychic power, it was as if his mind force had plunged into the sea—no response whatsoever.

"Inspector Jiang, I'm—"

Nehru lifted his gaze, about to identify himself—

But what greeted him was a streak of blinding red light.

"Huh?!"

The scarlet flash was unimaginably fast. The First-Rank Planet-level psychic had no chance to react. His last coherent thought barely formed before—

Swish!

The red light passed through him. Nehru's body split cleanly in two, barely drifting a couple of meters before the immense pressure tore his remains apart, bursting him into fine dust.

The dead are not worthy of a name!

"Inspector Jiang…"

"Oh, how I've missed you!"

With a single strike, the transcendent powerhouse was annihilated, body and soul. Wang Tong trembled with excitement—his life had been spared yet again.

"You two, head up first."

Jiang Li shook his head slightly, his gaze cold. After storing the metallic shard into his space ring, he transformed into a streak of light, pursuing Yan Hai.

"Jiang Li, your psychic power is strong enough—you can directly condense it into a soul impact!"

Babata's voice carried a patient, guiding tone.

Meanwhile—

At Planet-level speed, Yan Hai burst out from the lake and flew desperately toward his azure battleship.

"Isn't that Councilman Yan Hai?"

"Could another monster emperor have appeared?"

"Most likely!"

"What else could make a Councilman flee like that?"

Witnessing this, the martial artists still in Australia were all stunned.

"With a battleship's speed, there's no way Jiang Li can catch up!"

Yan Hai thought the same as he darted into the cockpit, the hatch sealing shut as the ship launched skyward.

For the first time in a long while, he felt relief. "Good thing that idiot Nehru delayed him a bit."

But then—

Whoosh!A figure shot up from the lake.

"Psychic compression?"

Jiang Li's eyes narrowed. Instantly, invisible psychic force converged from all directions upon Yan Hai's battleship. Despite its Mach-level propulsion, the vessel was forcibly frozen midair by the overwhelming pressure.

"What—what's happening?!"

Inside, Yan Hai's face contorted in disbelief. In the next second, his body froze—his limbs refused to move.

A terrifying, formless pressure crushed down. His bones, organs, and even cells shattered in an instant. The agony was indescribable—and his soul disintegrated before he could even scream.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Under the crushing psychic force, the entire battleship crumpled like paper, folding in on itself repeatedly.

"Is that… Inspector Jiang from the Extreme Martial Hall?"

"Look! Yan Hai's ship—it's twisting apart!"

"My god, it's like some invisible power's crushing it!"

"Inspector Jiang is a psychic, isn't he? Could it be him?"

"To crush a warship with psychic power—how strong must he be?!"

Every warrior who saw it stared in disbelief.

Boom!

Ten seconds later, Yan Hai's battleship could no longer withstand the pressure. It exploded violently—his charred, rigid corpse plummeted from the sky, lifeless.

The explosion alone couldn't kill a Planet-level being. Clearly, Yan Hai's soul had already been destroyed by the psychic impact before it blew.

"Well, I suppose that does count as a soul impact," Babata said dryly, with a hint of exasperation.

Hearing this, Jiang Li remained silent. His figure flickered as he turned and flew toward the Extreme Martial Hall's base.

Just as Doy had said—Jiang Li's soul strength was monstrous even among those at his level. But when it came to fine control and application of psychic power, he was still at the stage of a primitive.

"Inspector Jiang!"

Jiang Fang stepped forward and gave a slight bow. "The Hall Master ordered that once you return to base, you must contact the Second Elder immediately."

As she spoke, both Jiang Fang and the other War Gods—Wen Shiqi among them—wore odd expressions.

"Understood."

Jiang Li nodded. "There's no Moya Crystal left here. Once Wang Tong and Li Kan return, you can all head back to Hongning Base City."

After giving his instructions, Jiang Li boarded his azure battleship and flew back toward Hongning Base.
