That evening, Liam prepared dinner for his mother and sister, while waiting for them to return.

Around 6 p.m., both his mother and sister returned home. He was glad to see them back, and most importantly, something surprising happened.
With a nervous heart, he welcomed his mother with a greeting, already expecting to be ignored, but to his surprise, his mother actually smiled at him as she returned the greeting.
"Son, how was your day?"
It was as if she wasn't the one who had ignored him for almost twenty hours. What could have happened?
