Chapter 19 - I wonder what happend

It had been 2 days since the mission and yesterday was Ayame's first ever mission.

I didn't even get a chance to hear about it as she was exhausted and immediately slumped in the bed and since both; me and her don't have training today. I overslept and she of course overslept as well.

It's around 9: 50 am and I am just scrolling through my phone as Ayame is still asleep.

The mission really wore her off. She was the kind to wake up before the alarm so seeing her like this, felt pretty odd but who cares? She needs her lazy time and sleep.

I glanced at her sleeping figure and realized that she is an 8th grader, a literal 15 year old and I keep on forgetting it and think of her as an 12 years old.

I must be getting old to think that my little sister is already 15! Though I refuse to believe that, aren't I only 3 years older? Meaning 18… Holy macaroons! I am basically a legal adult now! Why doesn't time go by this fast in math, biology where I need to do some disgusting surgery on a frog but instead goes by when I am enjoying life in the place I was supposed to despise.

Technically speaking…It's the place fault for being so friendly and likable. I mean, who could hate it, a cold phsycho would but I am not one.

I shook my head, amused at how fast my thoughts went from how worn out Ayame is to getting worried about my age then Math's and biology to this Assassin organization which is such a great place.

'Are my thoughts always this rushed?' it was almost amusing since back then when I was Yuna and not Hina, my mind could focus on one certain thought. Whether it was a depressing, weird, funny or what so ever especially the one where I end up wondering about my existence; to be honest… I still don't know where such thoughts came from.

I took a deep breath, 'I am real, not some frictional character in someone's imagination or story.' I reassured myself. 'My suffering will end and I'll have a happy life with Ayame and any new trusting friends.'

I sighed like I had I had been holding it for ages. I should not think about my life as Yuna, it was what one would call tragedy.

I looked at Ayame, who was sleeping so blissfully unaware at how weird her sleeping position was.

Her body was upside down but horizontal? Legs at the pillow, head at the end of the bed, hands wrapped around a long pillow and the blanket looking scattered into 3 or 4 parts when there was only one.

The mission really had worn her out. I wonder what happened.

-A day earlier: Ayame's first mission-

'What the fuck…' Ayame thought as she looked at her partner for the mission in absolute shock.

Her partner, a boy around her age that she and Hina had met the first day; he was a permanent one and had no issue with violence.

Evian, he didn't have a last name as he was raised there since he was a baby and grew up in a loving environment rather than what one would expect from an assassin organization; brownish blond hair, blue eyes, seems British, raised in Japan but still got that slight, very much slight accent.

His calm expression could have fooled anyone if the building in front of them wasn't burning.

"Wasn't it supposed to be info-collecting?" She asked and looked at him.

"Yeah? That was the main purpose." He replied.

"Then mind explaining why the building is…" She nodded at the burning estate. "In flames?"

Cough.

Evian did a fake cough, almost too casual for the fact that he just committed arson. "Uhhh… about that…erm…" He was talking in a very hesitant way. "I passed by the kitchen while searching for the files and umm…the stove was open." He paused as he glanced at me with no eye contact.

"Interesting…continue."

"I may or may not have accidently spilled gasoline."

Ayame's eyes widen in amusement, shock and confusion. "HOW?!"

Evian slight flinched her voice, he was used to seeing a sweet Ayame not this one, an angry Ayame.

"I opened the cabinets just in case there was some secret part and ummm…they were not sane enough…" He again paused and Ayame was getting impatient at it though she swallowed it up to listen.

"To put gasoline in the cabinets and uhh….it fell on the fire and since there was a lot of wood… the fire spread fast."

Ayame was in a state of absolute shock and bewilderment. 'What the fuck did he just say?'

She took a deep breath. "The actual fuck, Evian. Aren't you supposed to be the experienced one here?"

"Well yes… but this one is different! This one was an accidental one and I usually get it done.

Ayame just shook her head, knowing he was right.

"Holy shit. This is some work, kids." Mr K, Trevish K, a man with black hair and black eye, average height and a chill guy.

She couldn't help but frown at that. Mr K noticing it raised an eyebrow. "Whats wrong?"

"A building was burned."

"And? It would have been burned either way one day or the other." He replied casually.

Ayame sighed, she wanted Hina's team as she has one professional assassin and one trainee who was good at it and both were ridiculous and unhinged and funny.

"Fuck my life…" She quietly mumbled beneath her breath.

'She's probably fine.' The thought of Hina and the chaos Ayame had to go though were different.

Hina's was peaceful, filled with acting and stealth while Ayame's was straight up brute force and chaos with barely any stealth from Evain.

But Hina didn't know that so she just brushed it off and planned to ask her after Ayame wakes up.
