No dark energy swirled around the boundaries, no abyssal taint poisoned the stars. The space stretched empty and clean before him.
Something was definitely wrong.
Grey's eyes narrowed as he scanned the surroundings, his senses reaching out across the void. This place had been marked as corrupted in Alan's navigation systems.
Yet nothing here matched that description.
"This is a trap." Grey realized.
The moment that thought formed, space behind him tore open.
A massive figure burst through the dimensional rift, its body covered in dark scales and burning with abyssal flames. The creature stood three times Grey's height, its eyes glowing with malevolent intelligence.
"YOU FELL FOR IT!" The Abyssal General roared, his voice shaking reality itself. "NOW DIE, INTRUDER!"
The general's name was Vorathos, one of the commanders serving directly under the Abyss.
