Tang Chen looked at the long-prepared, deadly strike from Bibi Dong. There was not a single trace of panic in his eyes. Instead, his gaze was filled with a cold and steady determination. He took a deep breath and let out a low, urgent shout.
"Paragon Golden Body!"
In an instant, Tang Chen's entire body changed. He seemed to transform into pure, liquid golden light. His whole person became like a shining golden statue. He radiated an aura of absolute defense that felt indestructible. This power was meant to be impervious to all Laws and attacks.

At the exact moment he finished activating his defense, Bibi Dong's Eternal Wound ability slashed fiercely onto his golden figure. The first blood-colored energy blade hit him hard. Immediately, the golden light on Tang Chen's body flashed wildly again. A faint cracking sound could be heard, making it seem as if his defense was being overwhelmed by the sheer pressure. He let out a muffled groan of pain. A thin trace of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth. It was clear that even with the powerful defense of the Paragon Golden Body, taking a full-strength attack from someone as strong as Bibi Dong was very difficult.
But he had done it. He had managed to endure the entire attack. He had completely blocked the lethal strike and kept the two great Spirit Beasts safe from harm.
The rescued Da Ming and Er Ming did not look relieved, though. Instead, they sensed an aura coming from Tang Chen that shocked them. It was a familiar feeling that was engraved into their very bones. Their expressions changed drastically as they looked at the man in front of them.
Tang Chen had used the Spirit Bone abilities of Teleportation and Paragon Golden Body in a row. Both of these abilities originally belonged to Xiao Wu. Because he was pushing his power to the limit, the aura he usually kept hidden was now completely visible to the two beasts.
The Titan Giant Ape, Er Ming, suddenly pushed his upper body up from the ground. His huge eyes stared fixedly at Tang Chen's golden back. A flash of murderous intent appeared in his eyes. He actually spoke in human language, his voice sharp with questioning.

His roar was filled with violent anger. If he were not heavily injured and on the verge of death, he probably would have attacked Tang Chen already. He could not stand the thought of someone hurting Xiao Wu.
"Second Brother, please try to calm down!" the Sky Azure Bull Python, Da Ming, said. He was relatively calmer than Er Ming, but his huge bull eyes were also filled with worry and confusion.

"Good! Very good!" she said, laughing in extreme anger. Her voice sounded as cold as ice from a frozen mountain. "Do you really think you can run? It is not that easy!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the third spirit ring of her Soul Eating Spider Emperor Spirit lit up.
"Third Spirit Ability, Devil Spider Summoning!"
A strange, crawling sound echoed through the area. Countless green energy spiders spread out from under Bibi Dong's feet. They were about the size of a human palm and glowed with a toxic light. They moved like a plague, spreading out in every direction.
Wherever these spiders went, the Blue Silver Grass died. The plants that had been so full of life just a moment ago withered instantly. They turned yellow and then crumbled into ash.
