Aurelion and Malgoryth entered together, one through direct divine propulsion and the other through a rift opening several meters behind Noctis, but the convergence they had intended never formed cleanly. Thousands of Bloodfang Reapers already occupied the space around them, some striking reinforcement, others crossing weapon lines, and still more forcing changes in approach before either god reached the position he wanted. Noctis met Judicael with Sanguinastra while the Bloodfang sword caught Ghorvath near the haft, but this time he did not allow the exchange to settle into another prolonged contest of pressure and reaction. The moment both gods committed their weapons, Genesis Step carried him through the narrowing space between them and deposited him behind Aurelion before either could convert the attack into a bind.
Sanguinastra drove toward Aurelion's wounded shoulder as the divine god turned, and the Bloodfang storm struck his back and legs at the same time. Judicael stopped the lance from penetrating the shoulder again, but the movement forced the remaining arm across the body while several Reapers attacked the ribs and hip. Noctis did not withdraw when Aurelion tried to push him away. He stepped closer instead, caught the weapon arm with the Bloodfang sword, and drove a knee into the divine god's side before Aurelion could create enough distance for Judicael to regain its preferred angle.
Aurelion's reinforcement absorbed most of the impact, yet the blow folded his body just enough for two Bloodfangs to cut the exposed flank. Noctis pressed forward with another short strike from Sanguinastra, then turned the lance aside when Judicael came across and used the shaft itself to jam the divine weapon close to Aurelion's torso. The movement lacked the measured distance Noctis had maintained through much of the previous chapter; he was deliberately crowding the divine god now, reducing Judicael's room while forcing Aurelion to fight inside reach of his hands, knees, elbows, and the surrounding storm. When Aurelion drove divine power outward to create separation, Noctis accepted the force against Aegis, slid backward several feet, and immediately stepped forward again.
Malgoryth came through another rift before Noctis could continue the pressure, Ghorvath descending from above with enough force to split the air around the axe head. The Bloodfang storm forced him to shorten the swing before impact, several Reapers crossing toward the damaged wrist while others struck the rift supports along the weapon. Noctis turned Sanguinastra away from Aurelion and caught Ghorvath near the middle of the haft, but his attention remained divided between both gods rather than shifting completely toward the new threat. Aurelion tried to use that division to regain his footing, only for Nocturne to appear in Noctis's free hand and fire into Judicael's lower guard without Noctis even turning his head.
Judicael moved to intercept the shot, and the adjustment opened Aurelion's ribs to the Reaper storm again. Malgoryth forced Ghorvath harder against Sanguinastra and tried to drive Noctis away from the divine god, but Noctis allowed the lance to yield under the pressure while Ruin replaced Nocturne and fired directly into one of the rift supports bracing the wounded forearm. The support flickered, Ghorvath shifted several inches in Malgoryth's hand, and a Bloodfang struck the exposed wrist before rift reinforcement could close around it again. Malgoryth snarled and pulled the axe away, but Noctis followed the retreat with Sanguinastra rather than giving him space.
"Back off!" Malgoryth roared as another Reaper cut across his ribs.
Noctis continued forward. "No."
The lance struck the rift reinforcement near Malgoryth's side, and Ruin fired into another support point before the demon god could rebuild the first one. Malgoryth displaced backward instead of remaining inside the overlapping pressure, but the retreat only placed him deeper into the larger Bloodfang storm where hundreds of blades were already moving through the space. He destroyed several on arrival, scattering blood outward in crimson droplets, only to see the droplets curve back around him as fresh blades hardened from the surrounding mass. His anger rose visibly as Ghorvath came around again, but Noctis had already turned back toward Aurelion.
Aurelion met him with Judicael close to the torso and the wounded shoulder heavily reinforced. The divine god had learned not to commit to the wider corrections Noctis had repeatedly punished, so the first thrust came through a narrow line intended to keep the weapon between them. Noctis caught it with the Bloodfang sword, stepped to the outside of the remaining arm, and drove Sanguinastra toward the elbow instead of the torso. Aurelion pulled Judicael back to protect the joint, only for several Bloodfangs to cross toward the shoulder and thigh while Noctis's sword remained pressed against the weapon.
The response created exactly the kind of divided defense Noctis wanted. Aurelion reinforced the arm and shoulder, Judicael shifted to block the Bloodfang sword, and the Reaper storm forced his lower body into a different movement at the same time. Noctis used Genesis Step to move less than a meter, appearing inside the new angle rather than across the battlefield, then drove his armored shoulder into Aurelion's chest and followed with a short elbow toward the jaw. The divine god absorbed the first impact through reinforcement, but the second turned his head far enough for Sanguinastra to slash across the exposed side of the neck before he could pull away.
Golden blood spilled into the storm.
Aurelion reacted instantly, divine power sealing the wound before the lance could deepen it, but Noctis's eyes followed the first drops as they moved through the air. Devour caught part of the blood before it could fall, drawing the divine essence into Genesis Vessel while the rest remained suspended among the Reapers. The taste of Aurelion's blood had already taught Noctis enough to recognize how much more lay behind the damaged vessel, and the brief absorption sharpened the knowledge Blood Memory was continually supplying. Aurelion saw the blood move toward him and pushed away with more force than necessary.
"You want it that badly?" Aurelion asked, anger entering his voice.
Noctis's fangs showed briefly when his lips moved. "Yes."
Malgoryth attacked from Noctis's left before the exchange could continue. A rift opened almost against Noctis's armor and Ghorvath came through the distortion, but Noctis shifted with Genesis Step before the axe head could complete the short swing. He reappeared several meters away between both gods and did something neither had seen him attempt during the previous stages of the battle. Rather than immediately re-forming another weapon, he opened both hands and drew a dense mass of blood out of the storm beside him.
The blood did not become another Reaper. It gathered into the outline of a humanoid body, bones and armor taking shape through marrow and blood-forged reinforcement while shadowed spectral layers folded through the forming construct. The principle was ancient within Noctis's own progression, born from the temporary doubles and afterimages that had once survived only long enough to complete a strike, but godhood, Sovereign Arsenal, Blood Echo, and his present control over the battlefield gave the old idea a permanence it had never possessed before. Within seconds another armored Noctis stood beside him, crimson eyes burning beneath a blood-forged helm while a long sword and spear formed in its hands.
Malgoryth stared at the duplicate. "What the hell is that?"
Noctis looked toward Aurelion. "You have your opponent."
The clone moved before Malgoryth could answer, Genesis-like displacement carrying it through the surrounding storm with enough speed to force Ghorvath into an immediate defense. Its spear struck the haft while the sword came toward the wounded forearm, and dozens of Bloodfangs converged around the demon god at the same time. Malgoryth blocked the blade and tore the spear aside with rift pressure, but the clone followed the movement rather than being thrown away, attacking again before the weapon could recover. When Malgoryth opened a short rift to escape, Sovereign Chains crossed the exit and forced him to shift the route while the Bloodfang storm saturated the alternative.
Noctis watched only long enough to confirm that Malgoryth had been fully occupied. The clone was not a separate consciousness and did not require one; its actions moved through his own will, doctrine, and battlefield perception, another body being directed through the same integrated combat lattice already controlling thousands of Reapers. It could not reproduce everything the original possessed at equal strength, but it did not need to. Malgoryth was injured, his remaining arm required constant rift support, and simply forcing him to fight another version of Noctis while the storm continued attacking was enough to prevent him from reaching Aurelion.
Noctis turned toward the divine god and let the Bloodfang sword dissolve. Sanguinastra remained in one hand while his other settled empty at his side for a moment, and the Reaper storm around Aurelion began tightening its trajectories. Aurelion looked from the clone battling Malgoryth back to Noctis and understood the intention behind the division. Judicael rose closer to his chest.
"You think separating us changes anything?" Aurelion asked.
Noctis stepped forward. "It changes who dies first."
Aurelion attacked before the sentence had fully left him. Judicael thrust toward Noctis's heart, divine reinforcement compressing around the remaining arm while the wounded shoulder carried as little of the movement as possible. Sanguinastra turned the point outward, and Noctis used his free hand to catch Aurelion's wrist above the weapon while several Bloodfangs cut across the divine god's back and thigh. Aurelion tried to pull free, but Noctis moved with him and drove the pommel end of Sanguinastra into the ribs before releasing the wrist.
The divine god's reinforcement absorbed the strike, but Noctis attacked again before he could recover. Sanguinastra came upward toward the shoulder, then changed direction halfway through the thrust and struck toward the hip while a Bloodfang passed close enough to Aurelion's face to force him to turn. Noctis used that turn to step behind the weapon arm, wrap his free hand around the elbow, and wrench the limb outward while the lance shaft pressed across the upper chest. Aurelion blasted divine force through the contact and broke free, but several Reapers cut the arm and side during the escape.
Noctis followed him through the blast.
Aegis rippled against the divine pressure, Nocthyrael absorbed the remnants that reached his body, and Genesis Vessel supplied the strength needed to keep moving forward rather than letting the force dictate the distance. Noctis entered again with a low thrust from Sanguinastra, drew Judicael downward, and brought his knee up into Aurelion's abdomen when the divine weapon intercepted the lance. Aurelion folded slightly around the impact, and Noctis struck the side of his head with his forearm before using Genesis Step to appear on the opposite side.
The fight had become uglier than the controlled weapon exchanges that had dominated the previous chapter. Noctis still used doctrine-perfect angles and Blood Memory to understand Aurelion's responses, but he was no longer content to stand outside the divine god's reach and dismantle him piece by piece. He kept entering the space where Judicael was most difficult to use, striking with the lance, hands, knees, and armor while the Bloodfang storm prevented Aurelion from disengaging cleanly. Every time the divine god created several meters of distance, Nocturne or Ruin appeared long enough to force Judicael back into defense before Genesis Step closed the spacing again.
Across the battlefield, Malgoryth was learning how little freedom the clone intended to give him. The blood-forged duplicate attacked with a spear from the front while Sovereign Chains crossed behind his legs, and the surrounding Reapers filled the angles left open whenever Ghorvath moved to break either threat. Malgoryth destroyed the spear and cut through the clone's shoulder with the axe, but blood immediately reformed the damaged section while another weapon appeared in the clone's hand. A lightning strike hit the rift support around his wounded wrist at the same moment, forcing Malgoryth to use a displacement before several Reapers could enter the weakened brace.
He emerged closer to Aurelion, only for the clone to appear between them again. A blood-forged shield caught Ghorvath near the axe head while a short sword drove toward Malgoryth's ribs, and the Bloodfang storm flooded the route behind him. "Get out of my way!" Malgoryth shouted, breaking the shield apart with rift pressure and swinging the axe toward the clone's torso. The duplicate yielded several steps under the force, but Sovereign Chains caught Ghorvath's haft during the recovery and several Reapers struck the demon god's back before he could continue.
The original Noctis heard the shout and glanced toward them only briefly. "He's busy."
Aurelion attacked during the glance, Judicael cutting toward Noctis's neck with a short horizontal stroke. Crimson Omen Sight caught the shoulder movement before the weapon entered the line, and Noctis leaned beneath it while Sanguinastra came across Aurelion's body. The divine god shifted reinforcement toward the ribs and blocked the lance with his forearm, but several Bloodfangs struck the back and leg during the same motion. Noctis turned the failed thrust into a hook with the shaft, caught Aurelion behind the knee, and pulled while driving his shoulder into the divine god's chest.
Aurelion lost vertical alignment for an instant. Direct propulsion corrected him before he could fall, but Noctis used that instant to drive an armored fist into the wounded shoulder. The blow did not merely strike flesh; Oblivion Rend flowed through the impact in a narrow, controlled layer, severing part of the reinforcement pattern around the existing puncture rather than releasing the technique across the battlefield. Aurelion's shoulder jerked backward as the structural support split, and a burst of golden blood escaped before divine power closed around the damaged region.
Aurelion's expression changed. "You're using that at this distance now?"
Noctis drew Sanguinastra back. "You're easier to reach."
The divine god thrust Judicael directly at Noctis's face. Sanguinastra turned the point aside, but Aurelion drove forward behind the weapon and finally forced Noctis several meters backward with compressed divine force. The impact cracked through Aegis and struck Nocthyrael hard enough to make the blood armor ripple over his chest. Noctis stabilized before Aurelion could exploit the displacement, and the moment he did, the storm attacked the divine god from behind.
Aurelion shattered several Reapers with a burst of light and moved toward Noctis before more could replace them. For several seconds he regained the initiative, Judicael attacking through compact thrusts that forced Sanguinastra to remain defensive while direct propulsion kept Noctis from easily circling the weapon arm. One strike clipped Aegis near the shoulder and drove through enough force to send a sharp impact through Noctis's body. Another came toward the ribs before Genesis Step shifted him a few inches outside the line.
Noctis's smile returned.
Aurelion saw it and hesitated for less than a heartbeat, but that was enough. Nocturne appeared in Noctis's free hand and fired point-blank toward the right shoulder, forcing Judicael upward to cover the wound while Sanguinastra attacked the abdomen. Aurelion blocked the lance with reinforcement and tried to drive his knee toward Noctis's side, only for Noctis to turn with the motion and catch the leg against his hip. The Bloodfang storm struck the divine god's back and weapon arm during the awkward contact.
Noctis fired Nocturne again.
The shot struck Judicael near the lower guard and forced Aurelion to twist the weapon harder across the wounded shoulder. Noctis released the pistol, let it dissolve, and drove his free hand into Aurelion's throat while Sanguinastra remained between their bodies. His fingers did not close long enough to become a choke; instead he used the contact to shove Aurelion backward and line the divine god's body with the Reapers approaching from behind. Three struck almost together, one breaking against reinforcement, another cutting the thigh, and the third opening the back beneath the shoulder.
Golden blood entered the storm again.
Noctis drew it toward himself without slowing the attack. Blood Memory sharpened around Aurelion's movements as the divine essence entered Genesis Vessel, exposing more of the internal habits behind Judicael's compact defensive form. Aurelion had used similar close-weapon patterns against other opponents long before meeting Noctis, and the memories showed where the remaining arm naturally rotated when the shoulder was compromised. Noctis did not need to reproduce those movements. He only needed to know where the limb would be when the next attack forced the same response.
He sent Sanguinastra toward the abdomen and several Bloodfangs toward the neck and thigh. Aurelion moved Judicael down to stop the lance while turning his body away from the Reapers, exactly as Blood Memory predicted. Noctis Genesis Stepped to the outside of the remaining arm and drove an elbow into the damaged shoulder while his free hand caught the wrist. Oblivion Rend entered through the contact again, not as a wave but as a razor-thin structural cut that tore through part of the reinforcement around the upper arm.
Aurelion roared and ripped the limb free before Noctis could continue. Judicael came around with enough divine force to smash Noctis across the chest and throw him backward through the Bloodfang storm. Several Reapers scattered around his body as he passed through them, then re-formed their trajectories before he had even stabilized. Noctis stopped himself with Genesis Step rather than waiting for momentum to fade and immediately returned toward Aurelion.
The change in him was impossible to miss now. He was still calculating, still reading, still using doctrine and Blood Memory, but restraint had fallen away from the physical execution. Sanguinastra no longer remained at ideal spear distance if a closer position offered a better way to hurt Aurelion, and Genesis Step increasingly placed him shoulder-to-shoulder or directly behind the divine god rather than merely outside a weapon line. When Aurelion blocked a thrust, Noctis hit him with the shaft, shoulder, knee, or free hand; when Judicael moved to stop those attacks, the Reaper storm and pistols filled the space the weapon abandoned.
Malgoryth saw the change too, but he had no room to intervene. The clone pressed him through another rift exit with a blood-forged axe of its own, striking Ghorvath near the damaged wrist while the Reaper storm attacked the ribs and legs. Malgoryth broke the clone's weapon and drove Ghorvath through its torso, splitting the blood-forged body almost in half. For a moment he thought he had finally created the opening he needed.
The two halves of the clone collapsed into blood, then surged around Ghorvath and joined together behind him.
Malgoryth turned too late. The reformed clone struck the rift brace around his forearm with a blood-forged hammer while Sovereign Chains caught his ankle and weapon haft from different directions. The demon god broke both chains and sent a rift pulse through the clone, but the attack delayed him long enough for the Bloodfang storm to close across the route toward Aurelion again. "This is bullshit!" Malgoryth roared as another Reaper cut his side.
Noctis heard him from across the battlefield. "You betrayed me first."
"Fuck your grudge!"
"You made it mine."
The clone attacked again before Malgoryth could answer, driving him farther away with a spear thrust that forced Ghorvath across the wounded wrist. Malgoryth tried to rift around the duplicate, but Ruin fire came from the original Noctis at long range, striking one anchor even while he remained engaged with Aurelion. The demon god changed the route and emerged into another stream of Reapers, where the clone was already moving to intercept him. Every attempt to reach Aurelion cost him more power, more blood, and more control over Ghorvath.
Aurelion drove Judicael toward Noctis's chest again and used a burst of divine propulsion to increase the force behind the thrust. Noctis met the weapon with Sanguinastra, but instead of stopping it completely he let the lance slide along the blade-scepter while stepping to the side. The motion brought their shoulders almost together, and Noctis turned his body through the gap to strike Aurelion's wounded shoulder with his forearm. Several Bloodfangs attacked the back and thigh while Judicael remained extended past Noctis's body.
Aurelion tried to retract the weapon. Noctis caught the wrist.
The divine god immediately reinforced the arm, anticipating another localized Oblivion Rend, but Noctis used the reaction against him. He pulled the arm forward, stepped behind Aurelion's right side, and drove Sanguinastra beneath the upper arm rather than into the torso. The lance pierced through reinforcement near the shoulder joint and forced the limb upward while Noctis continued holding the wrist.
Aurelion twisted violently and blasted divine force outward. Noctis released the arm before the explosion could trap him, but he did not move far. Genesis Step placed him on the other side of Aurelion almost instantly, where the Bloodfang sword formed in his free hand and struck toward the same shoulder from a different angle. Judicael intercepted the blade, but the repeated cross-body movement reopened the wound beneath the remaining arm.
"You keep going back to the same place," Aurelion said through clenched teeth.
Noctis struck Sanguinastra against Judicael and forced the weapon lower. "Because you keep giving it to me."
Aurelion drove him back with another burst of divine force and finally used the surviving wing for a short correction despite the damage. The movement was small, but it gave him enough angle to bring Judicael around Noctis's guard and strike Aegis across the ribs. The barrier compressed hard against Noctis's body and sent him sideways several meters before Genesis Step stopped the movement. Aurelion's wing folded again immediately, golden blood running from the already damaged root where the forced correction had torn the wound wider.
Noctis's attention shifted to that blood for only a fraction of a second.
Then he attacked harder.
Nocturne and Ruin appeared together, one in each hand, while Sanguinastra dissolved into the surrounding blood. Aurelion accelerated backward, but the Bloodfang storm followed his route and forced Judicael to keep moving while both pistols fired through the openings. Nocturne pressured the lower guard and weapon arm, while Ruin struck the reinforced shoulder and the transfer structures connecting Judicael to Aurelion's torso.
Aurelion deflected one shot and absorbed another through reinforcement, but several Reapers reached the legs and back while the weapon remained occupied. Noctis continued firing as he advanced, changing targets whenever Judicael committed to one line rather than repeating shots against the same defense. The doctrine lattice aligned each trigger pull with the Reaper trajectories so that every defensive response became the timing cue for another attack.
When Aurelion tried to break the pattern with a wide divine burst, Noctis used Sovereign Bulwark through Aegis rather than retreating. The barrier thickened around his body, absorbed the first impact, and converted enough of the force into a retaliatory pulse to disrupt the Bloodfangs nearest Aurelion without pushing them out of Noctis's control. The storm immediately reoriented around the divine god while Noctis used Genesis Step to enter the space created by his own defense. Both pistols dissolved before he arrived.
Sanguinastra returned in his right hand.
Aurelion met it with Judicael, but Noctis entered close enough that the weapons crossed near their hands instead of at full extension. His left hand caught Aurelion's wrist again, and this time he did not merely threaten the shoulder. He drove his forehead into Aurelion's face hard enough to make the divine god's head snap backward while the Bloodfang storm attacked the back and legs. When Judicael shifted, Noctis slammed his knee into the ribs and used the resulting bend to pull the remaining arm away from Aurelion's body.
Aurelion tried to wrench free, but Noctis had already felt the reinforcement pattern change.
Oblivion Rend gathered along Sanguinastra.
The technique did not expand across the battlefield. It condensed along the blood-forged edge and point, creating a narrow annihilating line that followed the structural weakness Blood Memory had exposed around the shoulder. Noctis released Aurelion's wrist only long enough to drive Sanguinastra across the upper arm.
Judicael moved to block.
Several Bloodfangs struck the forearm and lower guard at the same moment, forcing the weapon downward.
Sanguinastra passed above it.
The lance cut through the remaining shoulder.
For a fraction of a second the arm remained attached by flesh, reinforcement, and divine essence. Oblivion Rend completed the severance before Aurelion could restore the structure, tearing through the remaining connection in a sharp collapse of white-gold light. Judicael and the entire right arm spun away together through the Bloodfang storm while golden blood burst from the severed shoulder.
Aurelion's scream tore across the battlefield.
The Bloodfang Reapers around him surged through the spray but did not immediately consume or scatter it. Noctis held much of the golden blood suspended around the wound while Devour pulled the rest toward Genesis Vessel, and the influx of divine essence struck through him with far more force than the smaller amounts he had been consuming throughout the fight. His regeneration accelerated, the crimson light through Nocthyrael brightened, and the storm around the battlefield tightened as his control sharpened further.
Malgoryth turned toward the scream.
For the first time since the clone had engaged him, he stopped trying to kill the duplicate and simply tried to break past it. A rift opened toward Aurelion, but the clone struck one anchor with a blood-forged spear while Ruin fire from the original Noctis hit another. The route distorted before Malgoryth completed the displacement and threw him several meters off the intended exit, directly into a dense stream of Reapers.
"Aurelion!" Malgoryth roared as Ghorvath destroyed several blades and rift pressure blasted others away. "Move!"
Aurelion had nowhere to move.
Without either arm, Judicael gone with the severed limb, and the remaining wing too damaged to provide reliable correction, he relied entirely on direct divine propulsion to keep himself upright. Noctis did not give him time to stabilize. Genesis Step placed him directly in front of Aurelion, and an armored fist struck the divine god across the mouth before the propulsion could build enough distance.
Aurelion reeled backward and tried to release divine power from the whole body. Noctis entered through it behind Aegis, grabbed the front of his armor, and drove a knee into the abdomen. The god folded around the strike, and Noctis pulled him downward into another blow from his forearm before releasing him into the Reaper storm. Several Bloodfangs struck the ribs and legs while Aurelion fought to remain upright.
Noctis did not draw Sanguinastra again.
He wanted his hands free.
Aurelion recognized that change and forced himself backward, divine propulsion carrying him through the storm while reinforcement thickened around the neck and torso. Bloodfangs continued cutting the legs and back, and Nocturne appeared long enough in Noctis's hand to fire two shots through the route and force Aurelion to twist away from a direct retreat. The pistol dissolved immediately afterward as Genesis Step carried Noctis to his side.
Noctis struck him with an open hand across the face and caught the back of his neck before he could recover. Aurelion tried to release another burst of divine force, but Aegis compressed against it while Noctis drove forward rather than letting the explosion separate them. His other arm locked across Aurelion's upper chest from behind, pinning the armless torso against Nocthyrael while his hand tightened around the side of the divine god's head.
Aurelion struggled with everything he still possessed. Divine propulsion jerked both bodies through the air, reinforcement hardened across his neck and spine, and the surviving wing opened halfway before the damaged root failed and folded again. Noctis tightened the arm around his chest and used Genesis Step in short corrections to cancel each attempt to throw him off, keeping himself fixed behind the divine god no matter which direction Aurelion tried to move.
Across the battlefield, Malgoryth saw the hold close around Aurelion and abandoned restraint completely. Ghorvath swept through a broad arc that shattered dozens of Bloodfang Reapers and tore most of the clone's torso apart, but the attack also placed enormous strain on the already damaged wrist. The clone reformed through the spray of blood before Malgoryth could reach the rift he was opening, striking the wounded forearm with a hammer-shaped construct while Sovereign Chains closed around his legs and waist.
"Get out of my fucking way!" Malgoryth roared.
The clone did not answer.
It drove a spear toward his chest while hundreds of Reapers flooded the path beyond it.
Malgoryth broke the chains, knocked the spear aside, and forced another rift open toward Aurelion. Ruin struck the support point before the route stabilized. He shifted to another anchor and was met by lightning through the forming distortion, then a Bloodfang entered the weakened brace around his wrist and cut nearly to the bone before rift reinforcement expelled it.
Malgoryth screamed in anger and pain, but he still tried to advance.
Noctis barely looked toward him.
His attention remained on Aurelion.
The divine god twisted in his grip and tried to force his head forward, but Noctis's hand tightened along the jaw and temple. He pulled Aurelion's head sharply to the side, exposing the line from the jaw to the collar while the arm across the chest prevented him from turning with the movement. Golden blood still ran from the severed shoulder and earlier neck wound, trailing down the white-gold armor in thin streams.
Aurelion's resistance slowed for a moment as he understood what Noctis was doing.
"No," he said.
Noctis shifted his grip farther along the side of the head.
Aurelion gathered divine force again, but the effort produced less than before. The loss of the arm, the constant bleeding, and the repeated disruption of Judicael's transfers had already taken too much from him. Aegis absorbed the weaker burst while Noctis remained locked behind him.
"You think this matters?" Aurelion said, forcing the words through clenched teeth. "You can tear me apart. You can drink everything you want."
Noctis's expression did not change.
Aurelion's breathing grew harder as he tried to move against the hold. "You still cannot kill me."
For the first time since taking him from behind, Noctis paused.
Aurelion mistook the pause for uncertainty and continued, his voice gaining strength from the belief behind the words. "I am a god."
Noctis smiled.
It was not the broad grin of someone amused by a joke, nor the expression of someone losing himself to hunger. The smile was small and deliberate, appearing only after Aurelion had finished speaking. Noctis pulled his head a little farther to the side until the muscles along the exposed neck tightened beneath the skin.
"Then I'll kill you."
Aurelion's eyes widened.
Noctis lowered his head and bit into the exposed neck.
His fangs passed through divine reinforcement and flesh where the earlier wound and sustained blood loss had already weakened Aurelion's protection. Golden blood flooded into Noctis's mouth almost immediately, hot with divine essence and far denser than the scattered streams Devour had been drawing throughout the fight. Some escaped around his lips and ran down Aurelion's neck in bright lines, crossing the collar and damaged armor before dripping into the Bloodfang storm below.
Aurelion convulsed in his grip.
"No!" he shouted, trying to wrench his head away.
Noctis held him in place and drank.
The first deep pull sent divine blood through his body in a quantity no remote absorption had matched. Genesis Vessel accepted it without hesitation, and the unified bloodline stripped away the incompatibility that would have destroyed a lesser vampire attempting to feed directly from a god. Power moved through Noctis's muscles, marrow, blood, and sovereign systems as Aurelion's memories opened wider through Blood Memory, not as an uncontrollable flood but as layers of knowledge Noctis could access as needed.
Aurelion tried another divine burst. It expanded weakly from his body and broke against Aegis without dislodging Noctis. The arm locked across his upper chest tightened, and the hand on his head kept the neck exposed while golden blood continued flowing between Noctis's fangs.
Malgoryth saw the blood running down Aurelion's neck.
His expression changed from fury to something more urgent.
"Aurelion!"
The clone attacked him before he could move.
Malgoryth drove Ghorvath through its spear and cut the blood-forged body from shoulder to hip, then opened a rift directly toward Noctis and Aurelion. The clone collapsed around the axe and transformed instead of falling away, blood wrapping Ghorvath's haft and wounded forearm while Sovereign Chains erupted from the surrounding storm. Malgoryth tore free with a roar, but the rift destabilized before he could enter it.
Another opened several meters away.
Ruin fired through its anchor.
Malgoryth changed direction.
The Bloodfang storm met him.
He destroyed one Reaper, then another, then three more in rapid succession while forcing rift reinforcement around his injured wrist. A blade still cut the thigh, another entered the ribs, and a third struck the back of the shoulder as he tried to reach the space where Aurelion remained trapped.
"Let him go!" Malgoryth shouted.
Noctis did not answer.
He drank again.
The sound Aurelion made was no longer the same roar he had given when his arm came off. It was lower and strained, his body weakening enough that even the direct divine propulsion holding them in the air began to flicker. Noctis compensated automatically with his own flight and Genesis Step, preventing the divine god from using the loss of altitude to escape the hold.
Golden blood continued running down Aurelion's throat and armor.
Some entered Noctis directly through the bite. Some moved through Devour from the severed shoulder. Some spilled outward and joined the Bloodfang storm, where crimson constructs briefly carried streaks of gold through their blades before the essence was drawn back toward Noctis.
The effect on him became visible.
The light beneath Nocthyrael intensified without losing its crimson character, divine-gold traces appearing momentarily through the blood-forged armor before being consumed into the larger Genesis pattern. The Bloodfang storm accelerated, not through a sudden uncontrolled explosion but through a measurable increase in coordination and force. Reapers struck Malgoryth's defenses harder, chains formed faster around his rift structures, and the clone's damaged body restored itself with less delay each time Ghorvath tore through it.
Malgoryth understood what was happening.
"He's getting stronger," he said, more to himself than anyone else.
The clone drove him backward with a heavy two-handed strike while several Reapers attacked the damaged wrist. Malgoryth blocked the weapon, broke it with Ghorvath, and tried another rift. The clone replaced the shattered sword with a spear before the pieces had finished dissolving and drove the new point toward the demon god's ribs.
Malgoryth retreated rather than let it enter.
That retreat put more distance between him and Aurelion.
"No!" Malgoryth shouted, opening another route.
The clone and storm closed around it again.
Noctis continued feeding.
Aurelion's body had begun to lose the rigid resistance it had maintained when the bite first entered. He still struggled, but the movements became shorter and less coordinated, divine reinforcement shifting unevenly across the neck and torso while his remaining wing hung almost motionless behind him. Noctis could feel the pulse of god blood beneath his fangs and adjusted the bite only enough to maintain the flow without tearing the neck apart prematurely.
Aurelion forced his head against Noctis's hand. "Stop."
Noctis did not release him.
"You said I couldn't kill you," he said against the blood-wet wound.
Aurelion's jaw tightened.
Noctis bit deeper.
The divine god's body jerked again, and more golden blood spilled around Noctis's mouth before being drawn inward. Memories accompanied it in fragments: Judicael's creation and refinement, battles fought across divine territories, older executions, political relationships, hidden routes, divine structures, victories Aurelion had long treated as proof of his permanence. Noctis did not stop to examine them. Blood Memory stored what mattered while the fight continued.
Malgoryth finally forced his way through part of the clone's pressure by collapsing several rift anchors at once and using the resulting spatial recoil as a weapon. The blast threw the clone through dozens of Bloodfangs and cleared a jagged route toward Aurelion. Ghorvath came forward as Malgoryth drove himself through that opening, rift reinforcement burning around the injured forearm hard enough to hold the weapon stable despite the damage.
He crossed half the distance.
Then the storm folded inward.
Hundreds of Bloodfang Reapers entered the route from above, below, and both sides, forcing Ghorvath into a broad defensive sweep before Malgoryth could continue. He shattered many of them, but the attack committed the axe to one side while others struck the ribs, thigh, back, and wounded forearm. The clone re-formed behind him and drove a blood-forged spear through the opening at his flank.
Malgoryth twisted before the spear could pierce deeply, but it still entered the side and drove him several feet through the air. He tore himself off the weapon and swung Ghorvath backward, forcing the clone to yield while a rift opened beneath him. "Noctis!" he roared across the battlefield. "Face me!"
Noctis lifted his head from Aurelion's neck for the first time.
Golden blood coated his fangs and the corner of his mouth. Aurelion sagged against the arm restraining him, still conscious but barely able to gather enough divine force to resist the hold. Noctis looked past him toward Malgoryth and the clone surrounding the demon god with the Bloodfang storm.
"You have me."
Malgoryth stared at the clone.
The duplicate attacked.
Noctis lowered his mouth back to Aurelion's neck.
The divine god tried to pull away again, but there was almost no strength left in the movement. The hand controlling his head forced it farther aside while the arm around his chest held him against Noctis's armor. Golden blood continued running down the exposed neck, collecting along the broken collar before dripping away in slow, bright drops.
Malgoryth struck the clone hard enough to break its head and shoulder apart, but the Bloodfang storm prevented him from following the attack into open space. Reapers struck his weapon arm and legs while Sovereign Chains tightened around one rift anchor and lightning hit another. He shifted Ghorvath to protect the wounded wrist and took another cut across the ribs.
Aurelion weakened further in Noctis's hold.
The great certainty that had carried him through the earlier exchanges was gone from his face now. He had declared himself a god as though the word alone settled the question of death, but the blood leaving his body did not care what title he held. His reinforcement continued failing in smaller regions, divine propulsion flickered around his body, and even the light that had once poured continuously through Judicael's structures had diminished now that the weapon and remaining arm were gone.
Noctis drank until the hunger was satisfied.
He did not lose himself in the blood.
He chose every second of it.
When another surge of divine essence entered Genesis Vessel, he slowed the pull rather than consuming without thought. His grip remained firm, his attention remained spread across Malgoryth, the clone, the Bloodfang storm, and the weakening god in his arms, and Blood Memory continued organizing the information taken with the blood rather than drowning him beneath it.
Aurelion's breathing became shallow.
Noctis finally lifted his mouth from the wound.
Golden blood remained on his lips and fangs, while two thin streams continued sliding down Aurelion's neck from the punctures. Noctis did not release him, keeping the head forced aside and the chest pinned against him while he assessed the remaining divine power still moving through Aurelion's body. The god was alive, but the difference between the being who had entered the battle and the one now held in Noctis's arms had become impossible to ignore.
Malgoryth saw Noctis raise his head and tried again.
The clone met him with a Bloodfang sword in each hand while the storm closed from behind. Ghorvath shattered one blade and blocked the other, but the movement exposed the damaged wrist to several Reapers and forced Malgoryth to pour more rift power into the brace. He remained standing and dangerous, yet every exchange pushed him farther from the weakening Aurelion rather than closer.
"Let him go," Malgoryth said, the roar gone from his voice for the first time.
Noctis looked toward him over Aurelion's shoulder.
"No."
Malgoryth tightened his grip around Ghorvath.
Noctis's fangs remained stained gold as he pulled Aurelion's head farther to the side again.
The Bloodfang storm closed around both battles.
