Chapter 371 - Chapter 371

Radiant Verdict had already vanished from the battlefield, but Annihilation Trinity remained active around Noctis without any interruption in the rotation of the Genesis Halos behind him. The execution sequence no longer stretched itself through the severed conduit inside Judicael, yet the five components continued operating together across the selected region, their influence concentrated almost entirely on Aurelion because he remained the designated target. Malgoryth stood within the same range with Ghorvath resting across his body, and the black-red rift pressure surrounding the axe remained intact because Noctis had not included him within Trinity's destructive attention.

That distinction left Aurelion in a far worse position than the disappearance of Radiant Verdict might otherwise have suggested. He had cut off the declaration before Trinity could continue following the damaged conduit deeper into Judicael, and that decision had preserved the god weapon's core, but it had done nothing to remove the execution sequence itself. The lower mirror cluster had already been destroyed, several surviving mirrors were fractured or poorly aligned, the Bell network could no longer interfere with Noctis's synchronization, and much of the lower guard remained damaged around the widened seam. His own injuries imposed further limits because his right wrist could no longer handle the full leverage of Judicael, the right collarbone route remained strained, and the damaged root of his right wing leaked sanctity whenever he used that side too aggressively.

Noctis did not pursue him after the destruction of Radiant Verdict. He remained close to the center of the selected field and allowed Genesis Vessel to continue repairing the physical damage already accumulated across his body while Aegis held its normal defensive shape around him. The shortened blood-forged sword stayed in his right hand, and the two Bloodfang Reapers maintained controlled movement nearby, with one remaining more closely oriented toward Judicael while the other occupied enough space to respond if Malgoryth unexpectedly changed position. His refusal to advance forced Aurelion to decide how much more of his body and weapon he was willing to expose in order to reach him.

Aurelion began by testing the field with Judicael again rather than committing himself immediately. He reinforced one of the stronger upper portions of the blade-scepter and allowed it to enter the selected region while keeping the already damaged lower guard farther away from Noctis. Oblivion Rend began weakening the outer reinforcement as soon as the weapon crossed the boundary, and Divine Inversion followed through the sanctity revealed beneath the deteriorating layer, while Crimson Crucible Tempest stripped away what separated before it could be drawn back into the weapon. Judicael endured the interaction under direct god-level reinforcement, but Aurelion withdrew it before the degradation reached deeper structures and then shifted several steps along the edge to try another angle.

The next test lasted somewhat longer because Aurelion exposed a less damaged section and increased the amount of divine pressure supporting it, but the additional endurance came only through continued expenditure. White-gold reinforcement entered the weapon as quickly as Trinity began dismantling it, leaving Aurelion feeding divine power into a structure that was surviving rather than gaining any ground. He withdrew again, changed his position, and repeated the process with a different portion of Judicael, only to find that the basic interaction did not change even when the weapon approached from a different direction. Forcing the god weapon through Trinity remained possible, but every meter would have to be purchased with reinforcement and damage.

Malgoryth watched those exchanges from inside the same field and experienced none of the pressure Aurelion was being forced to endure. Rift power remained stable around Ghorvath, his armor did not lose cohesion, and none of Trinity's destructive components turned toward him despite the relatively short distance separating him from Noctis. The contrast made the target-specific control of the execution sequence obvious without Noctis needing to demonstrate it deliberately. Malgoryth could stand within the reach of a technique that had dismantled Radiant Verdict because Noctis had decided that Aurelion, and Aurelion alone, would be subjected to it.

After several more failed tests, Aurelion stopped trying to solve the problem by feeding Judicael into the same destructive interaction. The circulation of divine power changed before his body moved, drawing part of the reinforcement away from the blade-scepter and spreading it through several separate pathways around his armor and wings. Crimson Omen Sight followed those paths as thin layers of white-gold structure began forming around him, one enclosing his body before another appeared beneath it with a narrow interval between them. The same arrangement gradually formed around Judicael, and each layer remained separate enough that the failure of the outer shell would not automatically destroy the one beneath it.

Noctis understood what Aurelion was constructing before the last layer settled. The divine god had stopped trying to create a defense that Trinity could not destroy and instead created several defenses intended to be destroyed one after another. If each layer survived for even a short period, Aurelion could convert that interval into forward movement while the next shell waited underneath. It was an answer based on expenditure rather than superiority, and it accepted from the beginning that Trinity would continue winning each individual interaction.

While Aurelion completed the layered protection, Malgoryth felt an established demonic communication channel activate within his awareness. The authority contained in the connection was enough for him to recognize the source immediately, and he continued facing Aurelion while receiving the information rather than lowering Ghorvath or moving away from Noctis. The Royal Demon King's voice entered the channel without ceremony.

"The vampire beside you is Noctis. He is a student of the Demon Academy."

Malgoryth's gaze shifted toward Noctis for only a moment before returning to Aurelion. The information continued before the movement could become noticeable from the outside.

"The Academy's Demon God has taken a personal interest in him. He is also the owner of the 3-Star Fortress."

Malgoryth already knew of the fortress and its military value, but he had never connected its owner to the newly ascended vampire standing beside him. The Royal Demon King did not frame the information as protection, warning, or permission, leaving the decision entirely with the god receiving it.

"Know who you are dealing with."

The communication ended, and Malgoryth remained exactly where he had been.

Nothing in his posture changed immediately. Ghorvath stayed directed toward Aurelion, his weight remained distributed as though he was waiting for another opportunity to strike the divine god, and the rift pressure around the axe remained stable. Internally, however, the message changed the context surrounding everything he had already witnessed because the god who had survived Judicael's trial structures and destroyed Radiant Verdict was no longer politically undefined.

Noctis already possessed a significant fortress. The Academy Demon God had personally taken interest in him. The Royal Demon King knew enough about him to interrupt an active god-level battle and ensure Malgoryth understood his identity. Combined with Noctis's recent ascension and the power of Annihilation Trinity, those facts made him more than a useful temporary partner against Aurelion.

Malgoryth looked through the execution field again and considered the control required to produce what he was experiencing. Trinity encompassed him physically but did not touch his armor, body, Ghorvath, or the rift pressure surrounding the weapon. Only Aurelion was being subjected to Oblivion Rend, Divine Inversion, the Crucible, Abyssal Genesis, and Purity Inversion because Noctis had selected him as the enemy to be executed. Malgoryth had experienced the sequence differently before and understood that remaining untouched was not a limitation of the technique but an active choice by the one controlling it.

The implications extended beyond the immediate battle. If Aurelion died while Trinity remained active, Malgoryth would still be standing beside Noctis because Noctis currently allowed it. The Academy student would leave the fight as a newly ascended god who owned a 3-Star Fortress, carried the favor of another Demon God, had already overwhelmed Radiant Verdict, and possessed a technique capable of distinguishing between gods within the same destructive range.

Aurelion therefore became useful in a way he had not been before the message. Every attempt he made to break through Trinity forced Noctis to continue spending Genesis power, maintaining the execution sequence, controlling the Reapers, and accounting for a god strong enough to threaten him if the field faltered. Killing Aurelion first would remove that pressure and leave Malgoryth facing Noctis without another god occupying the vampire's attention.

Malgoryth did not need to make his decision visible. Aurelion had not yet committed deeply enough to create the kind of opening worth using, and Malgoryth still benefited from Noctis believing the existing battlefield relationship remained intact. He kept Ghorvath turned toward Aurelion and waited while the divine god completed the sacrificial layers around himself and Judicael.

Aurelion committed as soon as the structure settled. His healthier left wing opened farther than the injured right as he accelerated, Judicael remained ahead of his body, and the outer divine shell entered Trinity first. Oblivion Rend began breaking its cohesion before Aurelion completed the first several meters, while Divine Inversion disturbed the sanctity feeding the shell from beneath and Crimson Crucible Tempest drew away fragments separating from the structure. Aurelion continued forward as the outer layer deteriorated, allowing it to collapse completely rather than spending additional power trying to preserve something whose only purpose had been to buy time.

The next shell became exposed as soon as the first disappeared and held long enough for Aurelion to advance again. He reinforced it more heavily and kept Judicael angled so that the stronger portions of the weapon entered first while the damaged lower guard remained farther from the densest interaction. Trinity destroyed the second layer more slowly because of the additional support, but the continued loss of sanctity forced Aurelion to increase output through his body as he moved. By the time the shell failed, another was already waiting beneath it, and he had crossed more of the distance than any of his earlier tests had allowed.

Noctis did not answer by expanding the field or increasing every component indiscriminately. He watched the transitions between the sacrificial layers instead and shifted the execution sequence toward the places where each new shell connected to Aurelion's circulation. Oblivion Rend concentrated more heavily on the continuity between the failing layer and the replacement beneath it, while Divine Inversion entered those reinforcement routes before the new structure could settle completely. Abyssal Genesis Dominion occupied the temporary openings left between collapsing shells, and the Crucible stripped sanctity released during each transition so that Aurelion had less material available to recycle into the next defense.

The adjustment shortened the life of every layer that followed. Aurelion still advanced, but the shells began failing before they had carried him as far as the earlier ones, and the power required to stabilize each replacement increased. The damaged right wrist trembled whenever Judicael needed a larger correction, forcing the left hand to absorb more of the weapon's weight, while the strained route beneath the right collarbone remained bright as divine power passed through it repeatedly. His damaged right wing-root leaked sanctity whenever balance required him to open the wing, and Trinity stripped that released power almost as soon as it left the protection of his body.

Malgoryth continued watching from inside the field without suffering any similar degradation. The contrast became increasingly useful to his reassessment because Aurelion was visibly spending enormous amounts of divine power just to approach Noctis, while Malgoryth could remain within striking distance without paying anything. If Aurelion's sacrificial sequence failed before he reached the vampire, the divine god would be exposed directly to the same execution sequence that had already overwhelmed Radiant Verdict. Malgoryth therefore kept Ghorvath oriented toward him and allowed the appearance of their earlier cooperation to remain unchanged while he waited to see whether the divine god could survive his own countermeasure.

Another shell broke before the next had fully stabilized, allowing Oblivion Rend to reach the incomplete replacement before its continuity closed. Divine Inversion followed through the exposed sanctity and caused the new structure to tear unevenly along one side, forcing Aurelion to feed more power into the weakness while still moving forward. A Reaper approached the damaged lower guard at the same time, and Aurelion had to rotate Judicael far enough to deny it a clean path toward the widened seam. The correction protected the weapon but placed additional strain on the sacrificial shell surrounding it, causing another portion to collapse before the Reaper curved away.

Aurelion changed the structure of his counter rather than continuing to lose thin layers faster than he could replace them. The remaining divine power condensed into fewer shells with greater density, sacrificing the number of transitions in exchange for making each layer last longer under Trinity. The first concentrated shell endured enough pressure for Aurelion to gain several more meters before Oblivion Rend and Divine Inversion finally broke through the reinforcement supporting it. When the next layer appeared beneath it, Judicael had already entered a distance from which one more committed advance could bring the weapon into direct striking range.

Noctis altered his stance as Aurelion continued forward. The shortened sword rose across his body, and the Reaper nearest Judicael threatened the damaged lower guard again, forcing Aurelion to keep making corrections while Trinity continued eating through the defensive structure around him. The remaining Reaper stayed nearer Noctis's opposite side, where it could still respond if Malgoryth moved unexpectedly, though nothing in the demon god's posture yet suggested that he intended to do anything other than attack Aurelion once an opening appeared.

Aurelion committed to the remaining distance with the healthier left side providing most of his acceleration. His left wing opened fully while the injured right wing remained only partly extended, and Judicael entered the strongest portion of Trinity behind the final concentrated shells. The outer layer weakened almost immediately, but Aurelion drove more power into it rather than slowing down, forcing the structure to survive long enough for him to gain another step. The fractured portion of the halo lagged when the output changed, creating a brief imbalance that prevented the reinforcement from reaching both sides of the shell evenly.

More power shifted through the healthier left side to compensate. The shell brightened there, but the transition gave Noctis a clearer path into the supporting continuity, and Oblivion Rend weakened the connection before the reinforcement settled completely. Divine Inversion entered behind it, disturbing the sanctity supporting the layer while Crimson Crucible Tempest stripped what separated. The concentrated shell failed, exposing the final defense beneath it while Aurelion continued forcing Judicael forward.

The last shell remained intact only briefly. Aurelion changed the weapon angle to deny another Reaper approach toward the widened seam, and that movement exposed more of his left side to the region where Trinity was already concentrated. The layer began breaking there before the right side failed, and Aurelion attempted to restore it through the same healthier pathways that had carried most of his forward movement. Oblivion Rend reached the unfinished repair before it settled, leaving the left portion of the shell open while the right side remained partially protected.

Aurelion turned as soon as he understood that the defense could no longer be restored in time. He pulled Judicael and the center of his chest away from the strongest interaction and allowed the already exposed left side to take more of the execution sequence, choosing the structures he could afford to lose rather than allowing Trinity to reach the divine core and central circulation. The movement preserved the head, the center of the torso, and most of the remaining support behind Judicael, but it left the left arm, shoulder, wing, flank, and hip directly exposed.

Trinity entered the left arm first. The divine armor around the forearm lost cohesion, followed almost immediately by the reinforced structure beneath it, and Aurelion could not restore the limb quickly enough once Divine Inversion entered the sanctity feeding it. The destruction progressed through the elbow and upper arm as the released white-gold power was drawn away by the Crucible, leaving no stable material from which the lost structure could be rebuilt during the exchange. Aurelion tried to rotate farther, but the sudden loss of weight caused the left wing to open reflexively in an attempt to preserve balance.

That movement exposed the damaged balance of his entire body to a worse consequence. Trinity reached the root of the left wing and attacked the connection before Aurelion could fold it again, weakening the divine framework while the reinforcement entering from the torso became distorted under Divine Inversion. The outer feathers and internal structures disappeared in sequence until the root itself lost continuity, and the remaining portion of the wing collapsed into released sanctity that the Crucible stripped before Aurelion could reclaim it. With both the arm and wing gone from the same side, his body twisted farther than he intended and pushed the left shoulder into the most destructive portion of the field.

Aurelion forced Judicael closer to his center while sacrificing the shoulder. The armor and underlying divine structure deteriorated together, and the destruction crossed into the upper left torso before the remaining right side could generate enough movement to pull him away. A large portion of the outer ribs and chest disappeared, followed by part of the flank and abdomen, while Aurelion continued turning so that Trinity passed along the outside of the body rather than cutting directly through the center. The damage continued through the left hip and reached the upper leg before the surviving right wing and leg finally gave him enough force to escape the strongest concentration.

The maneuver preserved the structures he needed to remain alive, but the cost left most of his left side gone. The arm had been completely annihilated, the wing was absent from the root, most of the shoulder had disappeared, and a wide section of the chest, flank, and hip no longer remained around the surviving core. Judicael stayed in his grasp because the right hand and forearm continued holding the weapon, although the damaged wrist now had to accept nearly all of its weight without the balancing support of the missing side.

Aurelion pulled the god weapon across what remained of his body and used it to stabilize himself while the injured right wing opened despite the damage at its root. Sanctity leaked heavily from the movement and was immediately attacked by Trinity, but he accepted the loss and used the remaining thrust to move backward. White-gold reinforcement gathered around the exposed boundary of the missing torso, not to recreate the destroyed structures, but to prevent the damage from spreading farther into the central circulation while he retreated. Trinity continued attacking those repairs wherever they remained within the selected field, forcing Aurelion to keep moving while supporting only the portions required to stay alive.

Noctis kept the execution sequence active and allowed the Reapers to close the distance. One moved toward Judicael, where the accumulated damage around the lower guard remained vulnerable, while the other approached through the empty space left by Aurelion's missing side. The shortened sword rose into a position from which Noctis could join the exchange if Aurelion remained close enough, and the combination of Trinity, the Reapers, and the divine god's catastrophic loss made the next engagement increasingly likely to end the fight.

Malgoryth recognized the same opportunity. Aurelion's surviving right side had already been damaged before Trinity destroyed the left, and the wrist, collarbone route, and wing-root that now carried nearly all of his combat function had little margin remaining. Judicael was still dangerous, but the divine god lacked the balance and physical structure to defend effectively against pressure from Noctis and a committed strike from Ghorvath at the same time. Malgoryth therefore adjusted his grip on the axe and allowed black-red rift power to gather around it while maintaining the same orientation toward Aurelion that he had held throughout the battle.

Noctis had no immediate reason to interpret the movement differently. Malgoryth remained exempt from Trinity because their attacks had repeatedly overlapped against the same enemy, and killing Aurelion at that moment benefited both of them under the arrangement that had existed before the Royal Demon King's message. The Reaper nearer Malgoryth stayed focused on the wounded divine god instead of turning toward the demon god, leaving Ghorvath free to gather power without opposition.

Aurelion attempted another retreat as Malgoryth stepped forward. Judicael dipped under its own weight before the damaged right wrist forced it back into position, and the surviving wing opened enough to keep the missing left side from pulling his body off balance completely. Malgoryth accelerated into the opening with Ghorvath moving through a committed arc that appeared directed toward the center of Aurelion's remaining torso, and the black-red rift pressure surrounding the axe remained perfectly stable because Trinity still ignored him.

The beginning of the swing gave Noctis no reason to intervene. Malgoryth's hips, shoulders, and lead foot all carried the axe toward the wounded divine god, and the attack had enough weight behind it to finish Aurelion if the line remained unchanged. Only after the forward portion of the motion had already committed did Malgoryth shorten the rotation of his shoulder and change the pull through his rear hand. Because he had positioned himself close enough to Noctis before beginning the attack, the altered mechanics did not require him to reverse the swing; they simply changed which endpoint the same arc would reach.

Crimson Omen Sight caught the redirection as the black-red pressure around Ghorvath shifted away from Aurelion. Noctis saw Malgoryth's rear hand change the weapon's path and recognized that the final portion of the swing was no longer moving toward the wounded god. By then Ghorvath was already close, and Malgoryth had spent the entire buildup inside Trinity without losing power because he had remained exempt from its targeting.

The Reaper nearest him reversed immediately and crossed toward the axe. Its edge struck the incoming line hard enough to shift the weapon several degrees, but the difference in mass and momentum prevented the construct from stopping the attack, and Ghorvath knocked it away while continuing toward Noctis. The shortened blood-forged sword came across his body at the same time, and Genesis Step moved him laterally through the smallest distance available rather than attempting a full displacement while the axe already occupied most of the surrounding space.

Noctis used the sword to change the angle rather than oppose the impact directly. Ghorvath struck the shortened blade and bent the blood-forged weapon under the collision, while Aegis compressed across the side of Noctis's body as the remaining force passed through. The combined deflection shifted the attack away from his central chest and neck, but the axe still tore across his side and shoulder with enough force to break several armor plates and drive the impact into the body beneath them.

Blood scattered across the fractured ground as Noctis was thrown from his footing. He kept hold of the sword while the impact carried him several meters away, hit the ground at an angle, and rolled through the remaining momentum before forcing one knee beneath himself. Genesis Step had prevented Ghorvath from reaching the killing line Malgoryth had chosen, but it had not erased the power of a god weapon swung from such close range, and the wound across Noctis's side remained deep enough for Genesis Vessel to begin working immediately.

Malgoryth did not follow him into another strike because he had never expected the exemption to survive the betrayal. The moment Ghorvath turned toward Noctis, the basis for Trinity ignoring him disappeared, and the Genesis Halos adjusted the execution sequence without requiring Noctis to dismiss and recreate it. Aurelion remained designated, but Malgoryth was added to the hostile relationship as well.

Oblivion Rend reached the rift pressure around Ghorvath before Malgoryth completed his withdrawal. The black-red structure began losing cohesion at its outer edge, and Divine Inversion entered through the exposed power while Crimson Crucible Tempest stripped fragments that separated from the weapon's surrounding field. Ghorvath itself resisted far better than the expendable rift pressure, but Malgoryth recognized how quickly the same field that had ignored him was beginning to dismantle everything he exposed.

He had already positioned his rear foot to leave after the redirected strike. Malgoryth shifted backward as soon as Ghorvath completed the arc and reduced the amount of rift power surrounding the axe rather than feeding Trinity more material to destroy. The Reaper he had thrown aside recovered and pursued him through the selected region, forcing Malgoryth to turn Ghorvath across its path while continuing to move.

The axe knocked the construct away again, but the delay allowed Trinity to strip more of the rift power reinforcing Malgoryth's body and weapon. He released a short compressed burst to interrupt the next approach, knowing it would not survive long once the execution sequence recognized him as a target. The burst began collapsing almost immediately, yet it lasted long enough to force the Reaper to change course, and Malgoryth used the resulting space to continue toward the outer portion of the field.

Aurelion used the same interval without wasting time trying to understand why Malgoryth had turned. The axe that should have finished him had struck Noctis instead, Trinity now had another hostile structure to process, and one of the Reapers had left his side to pursue the demon god. Aurelion dragged Judicael across the surviving right half of his body and forced himself farther away with the right leg and damaged wing, accepting the sanctity Trinity stripped from the injured root because distance mattered more than preserving every unit of power.

The exposed left boundary of his torso could not be rebuilt under those conditions. Aurelion used white-gold reinforcement only to seal the remaining central structures and prevent the damage from spreading deeper while he moved, leaving the missing arm, wing, shoulder, and flank absent rather than attempting a restoration that would require more power than he could safely spend. Judicael served as both weapon and support, allowing him to compensate for the lost balance whenever the surviving side threatened to fold under the strain.

Noctis rose while both enemies were moving away from him. The wound across his side and shoulder remained open beneath broken armor, but Genesis Vessel had already reduced the bleeding and stabilized the deeper damage enough for him to regain his footing. Aegis returned to its normal shape once the compression from Ghorvath disappeared, and the shortened sword remained usable despite the deformation caused by the collision.

Crimson Omen Sight tracked Malgoryth withdrawing toward the outer field and Aurelion pulling his mutilated body in the opposite direction. Noctis did not know what the Royal Demon King had communicated, but the relationship between the message and the betrayal required little interpretation. Malgoryth had received information, continued behaving exactly as before, waited until Aurelion became vulnerable enough that Noctis expected Ghorvath to finish him, and then used the exemption inside Trinity to attack from a distance that would have been impossible if the technique had already recognized him as hostile.

The specific contents of the message could remain unknown. Malgoryth had made his present position clear through the attack itself, and Trinity now treated him accordingly. Noctis kept one Reaper pursuing him while the other stayed between himself and Aurelion, refusing to let the betrayal turn into a complete escape for either opponent.

Malgoryth reached the thinner outer portion of the selected field and continued moving until the destructive pressure against his rift structures became easier to manage. Once he crossed beyond the strongest range, he stopped rather than retreating farther and brought Ghorvath around in front of him. Black-red pressure began rebuilding around the axe because Trinity could no longer strip it as quickly from that distance, although the weapon remained outside the center of the field rather than returning beside Noctis.

Aurelion also gained enough distance to stabilize the remains of his body more effectively. The left side could not be restored while he remained under pressure, but the central circulation stayed intact, and Judicael continued receiving reinforcement through the surviving right side. The right wing folded close once he no longer needed immediate thrust, reducing the sanctity leaking from the damaged root, while the compromised wrist and collarbone route continued bearing loads they had never been meant to carry alone.

Noctis remained near the center of Trinity and adjusted the selected distribution rather than shutting the technique down. The addition of Malgoryth as a second target increased the workload because divine reinforcement and rift pressure could now enter the execution sequence from different directions, but the underlying components had not weakened. He narrowed the field through empty regions, concentrated the stronger destructive interaction around Aurelion where the divine god still remained vulnerable, and reduced unnecessary Crucible and Abyssal output on Malgoryth's side until the demon god actually sent something back inside.

Malgoryth tested that response with a short projection of rift pressure from Ghorvath. The black-red structure crossed the outer boundary and began losing cohesion under Oblivion Rend before reaching halfway toward Noctis, after which Divine Inversion accelerated the failure and the remaining pressure broke apart. Malgoryth let the projection disappear instead of feeding more power into it and compressed the next release into a shorter, denser structure.

The second burst penetrated farther before Trinity dismantled it. Noctis watched the difference through Crimson Omen Sight and understood that Malgoryth had abandoned the idea of sustaining a continuous attack through the field. Shorter bursts cost less power, survived long enough to force a response, and could be repeated without placing Ghorvath itself inside the region where Trinity could act against the weapon directly.

Aurelion noticed the same opening. While part of Trinity processed the denser rift structure approaching from Malgoryth's side, he reinforced Judicael and moved closer to the field without committing to another full charge. The outer reinforcement around the blade-scepter began deteriorating as soon as it crossed the boundary, but the pressure was slightly less concentrated than during his final advance before the betrayal, allowing him to gain a small amount of distance before Noctis shifted attention back toward him.

The Reaper on Aurelion's side moved as soon as Judicael entered far enough to present the damaged lower guard. Noctis strengthened the execution sequence around the weapon rather than chasing Malgoryth's already failing projection, and the reinforcement surrounding Judicael began disappearing faster. Aurelion withdrew before another major structure could be lost, but the movement established that Malgoryth's attacks could create brief intervals in which Trinity's distribution changed.

Malgoryth began using those intervals deliberately. He gathered another compressed burst around Ghorvath, released it into the selected region, and stopped supplying it as soon as the structure began collapsing. Aurelion advanced when the destructive pressure shifted toward that side, forcing Noctis to redistribute toward Judicael again. Malgoryth then prepared another projection while Aurelion withdrew, allowing each attack to make use of the pressure created by the other without either god communicating or surrendering his independence.

Noctis did not respond to every change by moving the entire field. He watched how long Malgoryth needed to compress the denser rift projections and how much reinforcement Aurelion needed to move through Judicael before approaching again. Both preparations were visible before the attacks themselves, which meant the growing overlap between them also carried a rhythm that could be read and exploited.

When Malgoryth prepared the next burst, Noctis allowed the existing boundary to receive it without immediately shifting more of Trinity toward the demon god. Oblivion Rend began dismantling the projection as it entered, but the stronger concentration remained around Aurelion. The divine god saw Malgoryth's attack and advanced, expecting another brief reduction in resistance, only to send Judicael directly into a portion of the field that had never weakened.

White-gold reinforcement disappeared faster than Aurelion had prepared for. He continued one more step because he had already committed enough power that withdrawing instantly would waste the entire reinforcement cycle, but the Reaper on his side approached the widened lower seam before he could gain useful distance. Aurelion changed Judicael's angle and pulled back, placing another burst of strain through the damaged right wrist while the divine weapon cleared the strongest part of Trinity.

Malgoryth's projection collapsed almost simultaneously. Noctis had allowed the field to process both attacks without overcommitting toward either one, forcing each god to spend power while preserving the distribution he needed most. Malgoryth recognized the adjustment and changed his timing rather than repeating the same attack immediately, while Aurelion began another reinforcement cycle through Judicael and waited for a better opportunity.

The battle continued through those changing intervals rather than settling into a formal alliance between the two gods. Malgoryth remained outside Trinity and treated the rift pressure released from Ghorvath as expendable, while Aurelion used whatever openings appeared to approach without risking another catastrophic exposure of his surviving body. Noctis kept the Reapers divided between them and maintained Aegis over the wound Malgoryth had created while Genesis Vessel continued repairing the physical damage beneath the broken armor.

Ending Annihilation Trinity would have reduced the pressure on his Genesis Core, but it would also have removed the restriction controlling both enemies. Aurelion would regain unrestricted movement despite the loss of his left side, and Malgoryth could return to close range with Ghorvath without having his rift structures dismantled on approach. Noctis therefore reduced waste instead, narrowing the selected geometry through empty regions and allowing the five components to concentrate only where hostile power entered.

The adjustment lowered the unnecessary expenditure created when Malgoryth first became a second target. Trinity remained costly because it was now processing two gods instead of one, but the technique stayed stable and fully synchronized. Noctis had no reason to surrender an advantage that still forced both enemies to calculate every approach around the field he controlled.

Malgoryth compressed another rift projection while Aurelion reinforced Judicael. Noctis watched both preparations without changing his stance, allowing the wound across his side to continue tightening under Genesis Vessel while the Reapers shifted slightly toward the paths most likely to be used. Malgoryth released first, sending the black-red structure into the selected boundary, and Aurelion began moving as soon as Trinity engaged it.

Noctis waited until both had committed enough power that withdrawing would cost them something. He narrowed the interaction around Malgoryth's projection rather than broadening the field toward him, allowing Oblivion Rend and Divine Inversion to dismantle the compact structure within a smaller portion of Trinity. At the same time, he kept the stronger concentration around Aurelion, so Judicael entered resistance that had not weakened to the degree the divine god expected.

Aurelion forced the weapon another step before the accumulated strain through the damaged right side made continuing too expensive. The Reaper approached the lower guard, Judicael changed angle to protect the widened seam, and Aurelion withdrew before the construct could reach the damaged structure. Malgoryth's projection collapsed on the opposite side while the second Reaper remained close enough to prevent him from sending another immediately.

Noctis adjusted his footing as both enemies began preparing again. Aurelion was still catastrophically wounded and could not afford another exposure like the one that had destroyed his left side, while Malgoryth had already lost the only opportunity he possessed to attack from within Trinity while remaining exempt. Their pressure had become more dangerous together, but the way they were using one another's attacks was also becoming increasingly visible through the timing required to prepare them.

The Genesis Halos continued revolving behind Noctis as he watched Malgoryth rebuild rift pressure around Ghorvath and Aurelion send another reinforcement cycle through Judicael. One Reaper remained between him and each opponent, the shortened sword stayed ready in his right hand, and Aegis covered the damaged side of his body while Genesis Vessel continued working beneath it. He kept Annihilation Trinity active and waited for the next overlap, already measuring how their preparations could be turned against them.
