Chapter 102 - Does God Exist?

Everyone asks the same question when they want to challenge the existence of something as unimaginable as God — who created God?

A simple answer would be: no one, nothing.

Then, does He exist from the beginning?

The answer to that question is that God has always existed — in other words, God is the uncreated one.

To reach this conclusion, what is known is that the universe was created at a certain moment; everything that exists as matter, even time itself, came into being at one point. Therefore, the one who created it cannot be material or bound by time — and that is what we call God.

Therefore, the true exorcists of the Association of Light do not find it so difficult to understand that God exists. The real problem lies in truly knowing God — something that none has the right to do.

Ever since Jonathan died, he acknowledged the existence of a God and labeled himself as His most lethal warrior — something that perhaps very few will ever have the opportunity to experience or even endure, considering all that he had faced since the beginning of his journey.

In less than a year, he believed that if he continued down this path, there would be very little chance of surviving into old age.

But that wasn't a problem. In truth, at this point in his life, Jonathan had little awareness of what was merely bad and what was truly evil, but he had complete certainty about what needed to be done when faced with it.

Being a hunter and an exorcist priest — a reaper of evil — had become a part of his very being, fused into his skin in a deep way.

There was nothing he wouldn't do for kind, gentle, and humble people who made this world a good place to live.

It was true that there were certain groups of people who did not deserve to be saved, but Jonathan had many other ways to ease that feeling of pain.

He knew he was doing things right — at least he was aware of it, considering everything he had worked on these past few days. But for some reason, the things happening around him were growing larger; the problems he faced were affecting more people, as if something far greater than he could imagine was on its way.

Jonathan was becoming stronger through those strange missions — missions seemingly designed to make him grow in power.

If only he knew what he was truly facing, perhaps there would be other ways to handle things.

"We're almost there, still don't want to wake up?" A feminine voice reached Jonathan's ears as he was having a rather strange dream.

"Where are we?" Jonathan slowly opened his eyes, trying to remember what he had been doing.

Wednesday, who was driving the truck, looked at him strangely and said, "We're going to Texas. Didn't you say I'm ready for field operations now?"

"That's right, yes…" Jonathan nodded, remembering that he had decided to train Wednesday in the world of darkness. As for the previous case, that one had been handed over to an expert hunter named John Constantine.

Jonathan knew that anyone would think the same as he did, and in short, it was madness how the world was expanding around him.

That's why he chose smaller assignments — at least until his subordinates became competent enough.

"What's wrong with you lately?" Wednesday asked, quite puzzled by Jonathan's behavior. This wasn't the man she knew.

Jonathan sighed and said in a tired tone, "I suppose I'm a bit exhausted. I'll let you take charge of this mission."

"Completely?" Wednesday hesitated a little.

"Of course. It's time for your test."
