Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Hundred Steps Flying Sword

"Hmm?" Tōga froze.

"Ah?" Hayato smiled very innocently.

The first step in Tōga's complete failure was his belief that he had been recorded on video while threatening Akane.

But now this kid was telling him...

I didn't record it, I was just tricking you. Aren't you surprised?

...You bastard, translate what 'surprise' means!

Killing the person and stabbing the heart! Killing! And stabbing the heart! How terrifying!

"I'll kill you!" Tōga's face was contorted, baring his teeth and lunging at Hayato. But Ayaka and Sakura, acting as protectors on his left and right, quickly pulled Hayato back, creating distance between the two.

Then the detective behind him forcefully pressed down on the gorilla's shoulders:

"Don't move! Do you want to add to your crimes?!"

There were two detectives in total, one old and one young.

"Damn it—Hayato—" Tōga gnawed on his large yellow teeth.

If looks could kill, then Hayato would have died eighteen thousand times over.

But unfortunately, Tōga's surname wasn't Uchiha.

So Hayato could still smile as if bathed in a spring breeze:

"Thank you, officer, for your hard work. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

"No, that's all," the older detective said kindly: "Go back to class."

"Mm, okay." Hayato nodded obediently, then glanced briefly at Tōga with a disdainful and cold look. He didn't say a word, but... he let out a 'pfft' of ridicule.

"—Ugh ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!" Tōga let out a roar like thunder.

Hayato put his hands in his pockets, pretending not to hear.

Now, Tōga could at most be considered... impotent rage.

He couldn't stir up any more waves.

When Hayato and the four others left the principal's office, that was his thought.

But the next moment, the rigor of Japan's police work exceeded his imagination.

The detective and Hayato and the others left the principal's office one after another. Hayato hadn't even walked out of this corridor yet when he heard an old man's startled cry from behind:

"Oh no! He got away!"

Hayato: ?

Damn it, I knew you guys were incompetent, but I didn't expect you to be this incompetent!

He quickly turned his head and saw that this time Tōga had broken free from the two police officers with brute force, but this time he was quite sneaky.

Since Tōga was some distance from Hayato, and couldn't figure out what his true strength was, plus there were two protectors by his side, Tōga actually didn't charge over. Instead, he sprinted towards the stairs, wanting to make a sharp turn downwards and escape towards the school gate!

Seeing the stairs right in front of him, Tōga was ecstatic.

The joy hadn't lasted long.

"Hundred Steps Flying Sword!" Hayato once again displayed a unique skill.

The wooden sword flew with the white cloth!

At the same time!

Bang!

A loud noise.

Hayato was stunned, and Ayaka and Sakura covered their ears. As for Arisa... Oh, Hayato forgot about Arisa.

It was a gunshot.

One of the detectives actually raised his gun, pulled the trigger, and the bullet hit Tōga!

Tōga suddenly lost his balance, feeling his body lighten, immediately followed by the flying sword hitting his back, another wave of pain like something breaking.

Then he tumbled down the stairs, his sturdy, mountain-like body rolling and rolling.

"...What are you doing?" The police officer uncle was extremely surprised, looking at the younger officer who had fired the gun.

The young police officer, who had instinctively fired, was stunned: "Oh, damn it, I forgot this was Japan."

?

"Senior, you know, last month I was still living in America with my parents."

"...You'll be held accountable by your superiors for this! You might even be dismissed!" The police officer uncle said, exasperated.

"No," the young police officer was quite calm.

"Why?" the police officer uncle asked.

"Huh?" The young police officer looked rather strange: "I already said my parents live in America."

Understood, he's connected. The police officer uncle instantly understood.

Hayato reacted the most promptly; he jogged towards the stairs.

Tōga didn't suffer so terribly as to roll down all the stairs from the fourth floor; he was stuck between the fourth and third floors.

But seeing his back pierced by the sword, and a bullet hole in his leg, now in such a miserable state that he couldn't even groan, Hayato felt that he was probably as good as dead.

"Is he still breathing?" The police officer uncle came over, asking somewhat nervously.

"Yes," Hayato said. He was breathing, but not much.

"Don't worry, we always shoot for the leg," the young police officer said with a smile, emphasizing his professionalism. He took off his police jacket and covered Tōga with it, to conceal the gushing blood. Then he called an ambulance.

"Still trying to escape, adding to his crimes," the young police officer said after hanging up: "I'll go back and write a report, saying the suspect attempted to take a student hostage, and luckily I stopped him in time by firing... Uh, at that time, young man..." He said to Hayato: "You can just act like you were almost a hostage."

Hayato nodded silently; this police officer understood how to write reports.

Shirakawa High School was currently in session, and the administrative building where the principal's office was located didn't have many classrooms for students. Moreover, this fourth floor was entirely dedicated to faculty and staff offices. So, even if they heard the loud noise, no students came out to watch the commotion.

This made the old principal, who had rushed out, wipe the sweat from his forehead and feel relieved.

He also sternly warned everyone present not to spread the word about this matter, to avoid unnecessary losses to the school... especially reminding the few student witnesses.

Hayashi-sensei originally wanted to say that since he was also kicked today, he wondered if he could be granted a day off to rest, but the old principal was so eager for the meeting that his old, arthritic legs moved like a small windmill, not giving Hayashi-sensei a chance to raise his request.

He could only bid farewell to Sakura, Ayaka, and, oh, Arisa, before walking back to the classroom dejectedly.

However, Hayashi-sensei was still thinking as he walked.

Tōga's matter was resolved, but now a 'Yayoi' appeared.

Yayoi-nee's yellow hair was truly yellow hair—Jōji had very dazzling yellow hair, dark skin, and metal studs all over his body.

And compared to 'evil teachers' like Tōga who caused trouble in school,

Jōji was a 'criminal' in the true sense of the word...

Not the level of petty delinquents that Yamato brought before, but already elevated to the level of a 'criminal'.

Although the notebook didn't describe it in detail, from the scattered words in the dialogue, Hayashi-sensei could roughly infer that Jōji had human lives on his hands.

After controlling Yayoi with drugs and special techniques, he even deliberately sold cola in front of Hikaru.

Hayashi-sensei would absolutely not allow such a thing to happen in front of him.

From the previous questions to Yayoi, it seemed she didn't have a new lover... If she had a relationship with Hikaru, her reaction would definitely be more intense.

Which meant the plot hadn't unfolded yet.

But... what should he do now?

Hayashi-sensei stood at the entrance of F Class, narrowing his eyes slightly, only to hear a loud shout:

"Hayashi! Why are you standing there like a ghost! Get in for class!"

...Alright.

The most important thing to do now was to attend class.

Even the greatest pure love warrior couldn't refuse a math class.
