Rachel Gu stood a few steps away, still wearing the same flawless smile, and without Old Madam Gu beside her, she appeared much more approachable, attracting curious glances from everyone nearby.
Snow returned the smile politely.
"Miss Gu."
Rachel slowly walked over, her movements elegant enough to resemble those of a swan gliding across a lake.
"I hope you didn't misunderstand what happened earlier."
Snow blinked innocently. "What do you mean?"
Rachel laughed softly.
"About Adrian," she said, lowering her voice slightly. "We've known each other since we were children. Sometimes I forget there are things I shouldn't mention in front of other people."
Snow remained silent for a brief moment before smiling gently. "I didn't misunderstand."
Rachel studied her face carefully, but there wasn't the slightest trace of jealousy or sadness on it, only calm acceptance, and for some reason that answer made her slightly uncomfortable.
