As Itsuki leaned back against the tree, lazily chewing through the last of his lunch, his earlier frustration hadn't really gone anywhere it had just settled into that dull, annoying kind of irritation that refused to leave.
He stared at the empty lunchbox in his hands, then at the still-intact water balloons lying a few feet away like they were personally mocking him. "I'm literally following the anime step by step," he muttered, frowning slightly as he closed at his lunchbox without much enthusiasm. "Water balloon first, then rotation, then containment it's not rocket science."
He let out a quiet sigh, dragging a hand through his slightly damp hair as his thoughts spiraled back into the same loop they had been stuck in for the past two weeks. "Two weeks," he said aloud, his tone flat with disbelief. "I've been at this for two whole weeks and I still can't pop a stupid water balloon with chakra. This is actually pathetic."
To be fair, his progress over the last nine months hadn't been entirely useless. Thanks to his sheer discipline and teenage mind, he had successfully mastered tree walking, water walking, basic taijutsu, and basic shurikenjutsu. He had even managed to learn the clan's signature Katon: Great Fireball Jutsu. But the Rasengan was proving to be a completely different beast.
If only I had a cheat code, Itsuki thought bitterly as he picked up a piece of grilled fish. The two ultimate training hacks in this world are completely locked for me right now.
The first hack was the Sharingan, which he hadn't awakened yet "If I had the Sharingan, this wouldn't even be a problem, after all able to see your chakra will certainly help with chakra control." he muttered.
"And Multi shadow clones are even worse," he continued, shaking his head slightly. "That whole 'train with hundreds of clones and get instant results' thing only works if you've got a walking nuclear reactor sealed inside you." He snorted faintly. "Last I checked, I do not, in fact, have a big daddy kurama paying rent in my stomach."
While his personal chakra reserves were notably larger than any ordinary seven-year-old civilian, dividing his chakra equally into multiple clones while simultaneously trying to manipulate a high-level shape transformation would drain him to a corpse within minutes. It was simply too much for his current reserves.
Still, he couldn't deny that he was naturally gifted. He possessed a greater pool of chakra than his peers, and a recent paper test had revealed he held a rare affinity for three distinct chakra natures: Fire, Wind, and Lightning.

Since my mother managed to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan, my Uchiha genetics must be top-tier, Itsuki reasoned, taking comfort in the thought. Plus, I'm the same age as Minato. I have plenty of time to grow before the plot truly goes off the rails.
Then, without warning, A translucent screen materialized directly in front of him.Itsuki froze.
For a solid three seconds, his brain simply stopped working.
"…No way," he whispered, his eyes widening as he stared at the floating interface like it might vanish if he blinked too hard.
[ Hello ]
[ Happy seventh birthday ]
[ This is the Random Summoning System ]
[ Would you like to bind the system? ]
[ YES ] / [ NO ]
"Fuck yeah lets go baby, this is actually happening," he said, his voice rising just a little as disbelief rapidly gave way to excitement. He sat up straighter, eyes locked onto the screen like a starving man who had just found food after days of wandering.
"I knew it. I knew it!" A grin spread across his face, sharp and almost manic as his earlier frustration evaporated instantly. "There was no way I was getting isekai'd without a cheat. That would've been illegal. Absolutely unacceptable."
His gaze immediately dropped to the smaller option below.
[ Terms and conditions ]
"Yeah, yeah, let's see what kind of overpowered system I've been blessed with," he muttered, tapping it without hesitation as his excitement barely contained itself.
[ This system can help you summon one item and one summon from other worlds including the media world like anime, movies, webtoons, novels, manga etc from your last life ]
[ This system is purely summoning system and will only summon one item and one summon once a year that is on your birthday ]
[ This system will offer no quest and reward ]
[ This system has no points and shop function ]
[ Any individual or item summoned will be adapted to the power system of current world ]
[ If any overpowered character or item is summoned it will be nerfed to not collapse the power level of the current world ]
[ ... ]
Itsuki read through the text quickly, his eyes scanning each line with growing interest instead of disappointment. "No quests, no rewards, no shop…" he murmured, tilting his head slightly as he processed the information. For a brief moment, there was a flicker of skepticism. This wasn't the typical overpowered system setup which will spoon feed the host till he is overpowered.
Then he leaned back slightly.
And started laughing.
"…This is still insane. Afterall something is better than nothing and beggars cant be choosers"
A wide grin spread across his face, his earlier irritation now completely gone as excitement took over fully. "One summon and one item every year? From any world?" His fingers twitched slightly, as if already itching to press the button. "Anime, movies, comics… that's basically unlimited potential."
The lack of quests or rewards didn't bother him. If anything, it made the system feel cleaner. Simpler. No grinding. No forced objectives. Just straight-up summoning.
This is more than enough, he thought, his heart beating just a little faster as possibilities exploded in his mind. I don't need some complicated system. If I play this right, this alone can carry me through everything.
"Goodbye, background extra life. Hello, protagonist status," Itsuki whispered, his hands shaking with anticipation.
Without a single shred of hesitation, he reached out his hand and firmly pressed the glowing text that read
[ YES ].
