Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: It’s Fine, That’s What Matters!

"Grandfather Dugu, leave the rest to me." Yang Yunhai focused his mind and spoke quickly.

"Alright." Dugu Bo nodded, withdrawing his Martial Soul True Body and stepping aside.

Yang Yunhai summoned his martial soul and strode forward.

With soul power surging, the Blue Silver Grass in his hand stretched out into countless vines that coiled around the Thunder Hell Prison Vine, binding it tight in an instant. The next moment, he clenched his right hand, and another vine split from his martial soul, extending into his palm. Straightening rigid, it sprouted rows of hooked barbs layered together like serrated teeth.

In the blink of an eye, a black spear took form in his grip. If he could weave vine armor, then stretching one into a spear was even simpler.

"It can be used like this?!" Dugu Bo was stunned.

'Amazing… my granddaughter's husband is actually turning a plant-type martial soul into a weapon martial soul!'

As the petrification faded from the Thunder Hell Prison Vine, Yang Yunhai thrust the spear forward, stabbing deep into its root. At the same time, his Blue Silver Grass tightened around its body.

The barbed vines jerked, sinking hooks deep.

"Hissss—" The Thunder Hell Prison Vine convulsed violently.

"Absorb!" Yang Yunhai immediately activated his second soul skill, drawing out every drop of its flowing sap.

He twisted the spear sharply, driving it deeper.

Crackling arcs of lightning erupted across the vine's surface, while thunderclouds above began gathering again.

Dugu Bo acted without hesitation—his foot slammed into the vine's root, shattering the stone pillar behind it.

The lightning arcs flickered, then weakened, and the storm above dispersed.

But in the next instant, the vine flared brighter, radiating violent arcs.

"Trying to self-destruct?" Yang Yunhai's eyes narrowed. He twisted his body, leaping up and slamming a palm against the spear's shaft.

Bang!

The entire spearhead drove fully inside the vine's body.

"Shhhhhh…" The Thunder Hell Prison Vine recoiled, trembling heavily, then sagged like it was filled with lead. At last, it fell still, limp on the Blue Silver Grass vines that restrained it. A black soul ring rose into the air.

Yang Yunhai didn't hesitate. He increased the force of his Absorption skill, siphoning not only the sap but its life essence as well.

Dark purple fluid surged through his vines, flowing back to the martial soul's root, dyeing it inky violet.

"Yunhai, don't tell me you're planning to drink that like medicine?" Dugu Bo said in shock.

Yang Yunhai nodded. "That's right. My body is nearly immune to poison. Why not test it?"

"True enough. The ring is already formed anyway." Dugu Bo tilted his head thoughtfully. "But won't the medicinal properties clash?"

From within the soul bone, Yiner's calm voice pressed into Yang Yunhai's mind. "Yun, the sap won't conflict with your body. But… there's something else hidden inside. Even I can't sense exactly what. Yun, I'm worried."

'Could it be the bloodline of the Thunder God sealed within?' Yang Yunhai guessed, but aloud he only said: "The properties won't clash."

'They won't clash… so it should be fine, right?'

"Grandfather Dugu, I'll need you to guard me now."

"A small matter." Dugu Bo nodded and moved to a nearby open space.

Yang Yunhai sat cross-legged. After a moment's hesitation, he summoned a vine, held it before his mouth, and bit down on its tip. "Zzzzt—" With a push of soul power, the collected sap streamed up the vine into his mouth.

The extreme bitterness spread instantly across his tongue, making him frown deeply.

'Looks unbearably bitter…' Dugu Bo swallowed reflexively just watching.

Before long, Yang Yunhai had drained every drop, stomach bulging slightly. Without delay, he closed his eyes and drew the soul ring.

It descended onto his martial soul, flooding his body with overwhelming energy like a bursting dam. Along with it came a cold, eerie presence, creeping into his mind.

"Hmph!" Yiner frowned inside the soul bone space, thrusting out both hands. The sinister aura was expelled instantly, dissolving as it lost its host.

'Perfect timing…' Yang Yunhai, already bracing himself to resist, was startled and relieved. 'That was Yiner's doing… and her control is flawless. Grandfather Dugu won't notice a thing.'

With that, he focused on absorbing the ring while monitoring the effects of the Thunder Hell Prison Vine's sap.

"So effortless?!" Dugu Bo was shocked. From his perspective, he had only sensed a faint mental fluctuation, then nothing. Yang Yunhai's face was slightly flushed, but otherwise calm.

'Unbelievable… Yunhai's mental power is already this strong.'

But then, his relief froze. Yang Yunhai's skin flushed scarlet, golden lightning arcs sparking from his body.

The storm above churned, thunder snakes racing across the clouds.

"What—?!" Dugu Bo's eyes widened, but he dared not interfere.

Boom!

A bolt as thick as a man's thigh split the sky, engulfing Yang Yunhai in blinding light.

"Yunhai!" Dugu Bo's face went pale. He reflexively shielded his eyes, then looked again.

Yang Yunhai's upper clothes were charred away, revealing corded muscle. His skin burned red, veins bulging across his forehead, face twisted in pain.

The next instant, he turned ghostly pale, drenched in cold sweat, as if struck with fever.

"Is it the power of the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot clashing inside him?" Dugu Bo muttered grimly.

Another thunderbolt descended.

Yang Yunhai felt molten fire surging from his stomach into his veins, pouring into his heart, clashing with icy currents. His bones and meridians alternated between blazing heat and piercing cold. And now, lightning from the heavens crashed down on top of it.

It was torture—like suffering multiple executions at once!

"Rrrghhh!" he roared as the lightning struck.

Inside the soul bone, Yiner too bore the torment. Yet in the gaps between strikes, she forced life energy from the bone into his meridians. It wasn't a soul skill, but the innate power of her being, redirected.

"Yiner…" Yang Yunhai's heart clenched with emotion.

For the first time, regret pricked at him. 'Maybe drinking the sap was reckless. Who would've thought it'd actually trigger heavenly lightning?'

But it was too late to turn back.

"Yiner, we'll endure this together!" His survival instinct and concern for her surged, and his mental power exploded outward.

"I'll endure it with you, Yun!" her voice rang instantly in his mind.

'We can communicate mentally now? My spiritual power… it broke through?' Relief flooded him. 'Good. As long as she's alright…'

It's fine, that's what matters!
