Chapter 69 - Chapter 68 Simon Stagg

Lin Li's magnetic gravity device was almost complete. After an all-night discussion with Cisco, where they shared their wild and imaginative ideas, they realized that achieving supersonic speeds on the ground wasn't that impressive; helicopters could still chase and broadcast it. Then, Lin Li got serious. "Damn it, my magnetic field control is so good. Magnetic levitation isn't something I can't achieve." Since that was the case, they decided to create magnetic-powered tires that combined magnetic levitation and magnetic gravity. With these, breaking the sound barrier, whether on the ground or in the air, would be effortless. By then, no one would be able to catch him, even though no one could catch him now. But it's better to be safe than sorry.

With this thought, Lin Li dismantled the Lightning War Cycle's tires, and the two prepared for a major overhaul, including the armor, thrusters, converters, and everything else.

The two worked tirelessly for several consecutive nights.

That night, at Stagg Tower.

The damaged circuits and environment on the third floor had been fully restored.

On the seventh floor, Simon Stagg hosted a party to celebrate his award, his narrow escape from death, and the incredible things he had witnessed.

He didn't join his family and subordinates at the party. He merely gave a short speech at the beginning of the party and then left, returning to his office.

He opened the computer on his desk and clicked on a video. It showed Lin Li entering Stagg Tower, going to the third floor, and using his lightning-generating ability to create an electric net. His face was fully recorded by the cameras.

At this moment, Wells entered his office.

Wells said, "Simon, I didn't expect you to invite me to your party. Is it just to attend the party?"

Simon Stagg rose from his chair and said, "Wells, do you know? I've discovered something very interesting."

"Oh..."

Wells responded indifferently.

Simon Stagg suddenly laughed, "This is truly amazing. Do you know, four days ago, I was hunted by a former employee, a man who could split himself."

Wells remained calm, "Is that why your company was damaged a few days ago?"

"That's not the point, Wells."

"Do you know what I discovered later?"

"A person moving at extreme speed, wearing a red suit."

"A guy who can release electricity."

Wells rubbed his chin, motioning for Simon Stagg to continue.

"Extraordinary abilities. The powers they possess are like those of ancient gods, gods on Earth."

At this, Simon Stagg looked intently at Wells and said, "Wells, can you imagine controlling such power, harnessing it?"

Wells smiled, "I can't imagine it."

Simon Stagg hunched forward, meeting Wells' gaze, his eyes revealing ambition.

"Wells, I heard that your Star Labs recently got a Chinese consultant."

Wells' smile grew wider as he said, "Yes, why?"

"Do you know? That day, my company's surveillance footage fully captured the face of the person who released electricity. Coincidentally, that day, a biker gang led by a Lightning Knight appeared in Central City. I compared the surveillance footage with photos and body types, then searched the Central City resident registry and found a Chinese man."

"Lin Li, your Star Labs consultant. You recommended him for Central City residency over half a month ago."

Simon Stagg turned, picked up a bottle of XO Martell, poured a glass of the amber liquid, and handed it to Wells.

Wells took it, took a sip, and continued to listen to Simon Stagg.

Simon Stagg also poured himself a glass, took a sip, and stared at Wells.

"Well, Wells, aren't you going to say something?"

Wells smiled and shook his head, then asked, "What about the one in the red suit?"

Wells didn't care about Lin Li. Whatever happened to Lin Li was fine; even if he was taken for slicing and research, it didn't matter. But Barry was different. Regarding his return to the future and the source of his power, Barry could not suffer any loss.

"No, Wells, I'm not interested in the one in the red suit."

Simon Stagg said with a cunning smile. He didn't know The Flash's identity, so he didn't investigate it, nor did he need to. He knew that if a person had two apples and you took one, they would at most be very unhappy. But if you took both, then they would fight you to the death. Moreover, in terms of both reputation and status, Wells was higher than him. He wasn't qualified to negotiate with Wells, but he wanted to get involved in this ability, whether to research it with Wells or to research it alone. Either way, he had to get involved. If not? Then, sorry, Wells has two metahumans, one who can discharge electricity and one who runs very fast. Everyone, come and see!!!!

Wells laughed wryly. He hadn't expected Simon Stagg to walk right into his trap while he was preparing to deal with Lin Li. This pawn was excellent; he liked him very much.

However, things that are too easily obtained are never cherished.

Wells took a sip of his drink and said, "YES, Lin Li does indeed have the ability to control lightning."

Simon Stagg's eyes lit up, and his mood suddenly became excited, "Give him to me. Let me research him."

Stagg Company was a biotechnology company specializing in human research, focusing solely on humans. While not as grand as Star Labs, it was quite formidable in human research. Otherwise, it wouldn't have won the Regent's Choice Award, though that was limited to human research.

Wells said nothing, merely smiling at Simon Stagg.

Simon Stagg knew he had been rude and overly eager. He reined in his expression but still looked very hopeful.

He said, "Wells, what do you want?"

Wells pondered what would be reasonable. He didn't actually care for any of Simon Stagg's things.

Finally, with great difficulty, he came up with, "All of your company's research on human biology."

Simon Stagg refused, "That's impossible." This was the capital his company had relied on for its survival for a long time. Giving it to Wells would be equivalent to giving him the entire company, which was impossible.

Wells shrugged indifferently, "Then there's nothing to discuss."

With that, he controlled his wheelchair, turned, and prepared to leave. Before exiting, Wells didn't forget to provoke Simon Stagg.

"Do you want the qualification to become a god, or do you want to continue being a mortal?"

Simon Stagg stopped Wells, "Wells, if you leave this door, I will make it known to everyone. By then, I won't be the only one who wants him." He was unwilling to give up, yet also reluctant to part with the extensive data he had acquired through various dishonest means over the years.

Wells stopped at the office door and clapped his hands, a sarcastic applause.

He said in a cold tone, "Simon Stagg, are you threatening me?"
